Nikki Novak here with another episode of Young Hollywood Refresh, so fresh by Subway. On the menu today, we're serving up the hottest places and freshest spaces from Super Bowl 48, including Justin Tuck, Beast Mode Marshawn Lynch, the Celebrity Beach Bowl, hip-hop artist Kendrick Lamar, and heavyweight champ Mike Lee. Kicking off this possession is our fresh athlete and defensive end Justin Tuck, who could have lent some valuable pointers to the Denver Broncos on how to win a Super Bowl. What does it take to win? I mean, you've been there, you've done it twice. What does it take?
The most important thing is, is the sense of togetherness throughout the units. Um, you know, the goal every year is to take 53 guys from all different backgrounds, uh, all different, different walks of life, and, and, and bring us all together in playing as one for one coming gold every season. And I think that's some of the hardest things to do in, in sports. It ain't the talent because I've been on teams that were more talented than our Super Bowl teams and didn't, we didn't do anything. Wow. So, I think that's the biggest thing. If you can get guys to be, uh, self, selfless.
Next up, our fresh buzz of the week belongs to Marshawn Lynch, who helped seal the Seahawks' victory over the Denver Broncos in his first Super Bowl ever. Does he think all those accolades go to his head? No way. When he's not in Beast Mode, Marshawn is giving back with the Fam First Foundation, empowering youth to never stop believing in their dreams. A lot of celebrities are involved with charities. How do you bring a fresh take to it in with your foundation?
Because I'm actually involved hands-on. There's anything that's going on with the foundation, me and my cousins are the focal point of it. So if we don't say it go, then it don't go. And if we do say it go, then it goes. So I mean, you know, there's no one who's actually running it for us. There's people who we have in positions that help us and will put the right, put us in the right light or or put us on the right track to make it go. But overall, we have the final say on what goes on with it.
Our fresh take of the week goes to a fantasy game that is chock full of celebrities, 500 tons of beach sand, and a chance for the ultimate bragging rights. That's right. We're talking about the one and only Direct TV Celebrity Beach Bowl, where we caught up with the likes of John Legend, Aaron Paul, Chrissy Teigen, Nina Dobrev, and Peter Facinelli. Okay, what are what are your secret weapons? Is it the mental strategy, the physical prowess?
I just hang out with this one and she's just like, yeah, my Her focus is insane.
What one person could show up here that you would definitely want to tackle and take down?
I mean, my husband. I I'd love to take down John. We haven't been in together yet. But I know he's a huge fan of Aaron, too, so I would like to see them go head-to-head.
I would like to go head-to-head with John.
My wife was telling us that you're a huge Aaron Paul fan.
Oh, I love Aaron Paul. Breaking Bad. I had two of my favorite shows here. Aaron Paul from Breaking Bad. And then we had two guys from Friday Night Lights. I'm like, I'm in heaven.
Every year, I think, um, I get more comfortable. Things get a little dirtier. We, uh, things get a little rougher.
So what are your hidden talents? Like, what are you going to, is it That's it. Is that what you're going to do on the field?
Uh, if I score a touchdown, yes. I'll do I'll throw that out for you.
He'll throw it out for me. Okay. So, we have a high goodbye?
Yeah. I'm going to maul this one.
Whoo, I'm still getting sand out of my ears. Anyway, let's move on to our fresh artist of the week, Kendrick Lamar. This Compton, California hip-hop recording artist shared with us his New York must-see landmarks and some words of wisdom for other passionate songwriters out there. Give us your tour of New York. Three things that you got to do when you're in New York to Young Hollywooders out there.
Empire State. Okay. Of course, Times Square. Probably like really in the streets of like the burrows, yeah.
Advice to Young Hollywooders out there, whether they want to be in music, whether they want to be athletes, A-list advice.
A-list advice. Um, always study the passion first and keep the passion for it. Because, you know, when you follow the dollar, everything else fails after that. Then your mind get corrupted. Next thing you know, you're warn yourself the day. So, always have the passion for whatever you want to do.
Great advice that all aspiring lyricists will surely appreciate. Finally, our fresh find of the week goes to our favorite Subway Super Bowl commercial featuring heavyweight boxer Mike Lee, who was rocking the new Frito's Chicken Enchilada. Mike squares off with us for some boxing lessons, and I get some personal tips on how to fight off those unsolicited bar creepers. So, I wanted to have a little sparring session with you. You want to
Yeah. You want me to teach you something first?
Yeah, you might have to do that first. All right. Well I'm a lefty, so should I hold
You're a lefty. Okay, I'll teach you the stance first really quick then. Okay. So, if you're a lefty, you want your right foot forward. Okay. Okay. So, this is going to be your jab hand and that's going to be this is your power. This is the money. Okay. Right. First of all, make sure you have a fist because you'll break your hand, right? Okay. So, you're going to want to jab out with this hand with this one. That's that's your jab. And then you're going to come through with that power punch right there. And basically aim straight for the nose. There it is. So, we'll try to get a little bit a little bit faster.
Okay. I'm setting down the mic. I'm getting serious. Okay. So, I'll walk up and then just real quick.
There it is. I think that was almost perfect.
Oh my gosh. You're a great teacher. I am. I would ask you to try it back, but no, we don't want that. No, no. No, really don't.
Well, there you have it. While the big game may have been in New Jersey, New York was a nostalgic backdrop for the 48th Super Bowl and we enjoyed sharing our best plays of the game with you. And before I go, make sure you head down to Subway for the new Frito's Chicken Enchilada Melt. The latest addition to the lineup of Subway is stacked with tender pulled chicken, tossed in authentic enchilada sauce, and topped with Frito's chips. But make sure you stop by soon for this crunch. It's only here for a short time. Subway, eat fresh.
