I'm Oliver Trevana here at the Young Hollywood Studio with this lovely pair. Seth Rogen, Cameron Diaz, how are you?
Yeah. We're here.
Yes. The Green Hornet. In the flesh.
Yes. I'm here in this little room. This little bar room. I feel like I'm going to get roofied in this room. Look over there.
Yeah. You already have in that smart, yeah.
How did you end up getting this lovely young lady on board?
Yes. Ah, we asked.
Yes. Is that it?
Yes.
So you get anything?
It's not easy. It's not easy.
You are, you are. Say yes. That's what I need to do more. You just got to ask me. I need to just put it out there.
You just gotta put it out there, yeah.
You want to do this? And you said yes.
I said, yeah. From the time that they said, hey, there's this movie that Seth Rogen and Michel Gondry are doing together. I was like, what are you talking about? That's a crazy and by the way, it's a superhero movie, comic book movie. I'm like, what are you talking about?
Did you not actually know each other beforehand?
No. I was on a flight to to London. I watched Pineapple Express three times whilst I was on it. Everybody was trying to sleep and I was laughing so loud, out loud, that I was just like, I was crying and people would get up like with their face, you know, sleeping masks and pull them up and they'd stare at me and give me a glare. And I was like, it's almost over, so. And then I started it over again.
What do you get up to in your spare time?
Um, I've been doing a lot of spelunking.
Nice. Cave diving. It's amazing. I did a little cave diving.
No, I've never done that.
Is that, is that what spelunking is, cave diving?
Yeah, cave diving.
Okay, because if you'd have asked that, I would have gone for something completely different.
Exactly. It's cave exploring. It's not cave. It's more cave.
Okay. Okay. There's a line, they have like a line that goes.
I just wanted to say the word spelunking. It's a good word.
It's a fantastic word. No idea how to spell it.
It's kind of phonetic, I think. Spelunking. S P E L U N K I N G.
Okay, maybe. Just don't say it wrong, because it can really get you in trouble. I've been spelunking myself.
No, yeah. If you say spelunking, you say spe-unking.
Exactly. And you, apart from spelunking?
What have I been doing? I went truffle hunting this last fall.
Oh, that's awesome.
I hunted those little bastards down. I dug 'em up.
Did you get any?
I can't keep 'em, though.
Why?
They don't last long. No. Well, you, you know, you go with the gentleman who
Oh, and they're his.
And they're his. Yeah. Thank you. And I was like, wait a second. I just helped you find now a truffle this big. Perfect. Why don't I just, why don't I just toss it to me? If you want these truffles, you gotta pay for 'em. I was like, I just dug them out of the dirt.
The Green Hornet. And it's a very old comic, and it was once a TV show, that's right?
Yeah, it was a TV show. Uh, it started as a radio show in the 30s and then it was a a TV show in the 60s. And the reason most people know it is because it's the first thing Bruce Lee was ever on in America.
Did you guys do your own stunts in the, in the film?
Well, I don't have any stunts.
Yeah, she only has one brief part where she kind of beats the crap out of me and Kato.
You did that yourself. There was no stunt lady around.
Didn't need that.
Apparently you actually chose to do that. You put your hands up, yeah.
Yeah, she was like, oh whack the crap out of them. Definitely.
Yes. Is this actually in the film? I'll do it anyway.
It is. Yeah, exactly.
Did you experience the driving, the car driving, because you went down to the track once, is that right?
Yeah. I, I don't drive the car in the movie, but, um, I got to do the driving. Yeah. And, you know, we went out there just like It was awesome. It was one of the most fun things I've ever done in my entire life, I have to say. Oh no. And I've always thought, like, can I just take my car to a parking lot and do that? But I would never want to do that.
Spelunking is amazing. Let me get you a spelunking scarf.
Perfect. I need a napkin.
