Hey, Carly Henderson here for Young Hollywood. I am at the London Hotel in New York City about to go and catch up with Sasha Cohen who's doing a very exclusive fitting for the Subway Red Dress Fashion Show tomorrow night. Let's go.
So, how's it going?
Good, good. How are you?
Good. You just came from school, right?
I did. I came from um from classes, threw on some make-up in the car and um you know, surviving the weather, but I'm really excited about the Red Dress event tomorrow.
Are you feeling like nervous about walking in the fashion show?
Um, I think that's going to depend on the shoes and the dress. If I'm likely to trip or not. So, yeah, we'll see.
How did this all come about?
Uh, I actually got a call from my friend Nacia, who's going over to commentate um in Sochi, and she did this uh event last year and it's worked with Subway for a while and she was like, "They're looking for someone to walk. Like, would you be interested?" I'm like, absolutely. Um, so I'm super excited. It's been really fun working with Subway and um, you know, I got to do Andy Cohen, I got to do Bravo with the Red Dress and promote that and um, you know, I saw the event last year. It was just such a great energy and empowering women and and um, you know, just raising raising awareness for heart health. So, it's a great cause. Kicks off Fashion Week and I'm so thrilled to be a part of it.
Tell me about your Good Morning America gig. You're a correspondent, right?
Yeah, I'm so excited about that. Uh, I was just chatting with the producer today starting on Monday and they're like, "We want to do the GMA games." They're like, "How do you feel about snowshoeing and doing all these things?" And and it's great because
Are you doing it?
Yeah, I ab- all different things. Um, so it's a great chance to interact with the anchors, you know, kind of develop my um TV personality and you know, hopefully take this um in a bigger direction. But, you know, just to be able to to watch the games and and commentate on it and and to be a part of that energy. Um, I'm super excited for it.
Awesome. Well, thanks for chatting with us.
Absolutely, absolutely.
Good luck.
Thank you. Thank you.
Fitness is clearly a very important part of your life. How do you eat fresh and stay fit every day?
You know, when I travel a lot, it's difficult, but I always try to make time to run or yoga and um Subway's great cuz they're everywhere and I just put literally every vegetable on any, you know, sandwich that I get. But you know, it's about making it a part of your life because I'm a full-time student at Columbia now and sometimes you're just like, I don't have time. So if you make if you make it like a daily ritual, like to go to yoga or run or make time for yourself, it just it pays off in the long run.
What role has fashion played while you were competing?
I designed all my skating dresses. So, I love it. Um, I would like get dye samples and beating samples and like go over and over until it was just right. So I love fashion. I love like this glamorous fashion. Like you know, like being a princess and going out.
What's your one go-to fashion item right now?
Go-to fashion item. I have this amazing Coopo's coat that um is very in now. I got it when I was in Paris and it's so warm and it's really helped me survive this winter.
And who is your number one celebrity fashion crush?
I think I love Angelina Jolie. She's so elegant and she wears a lot of black, which I love and she's like so sleek. Um, and she just she's an icon and just more than like a push-over feminine, like masculine created object. Like she's her own empowered self. Like something that women can look up to.
Well, you are channeling Angelina tonight. Nice to meet you.
Thank you. Pleasure to meet you as well.
