What's up, guys? Leslie Robbins here. Young Hollywood is back in New York City where we are going one-on-one with fame shoe designer, Stuart Weitzman. And I wore my favorite boots. I think he's going to recognize him. Stuart Weitzman, this is an honor. You're one of my favorite shoe designers. I even brought my favorite boots from L. A. to New York for you.

They are sexy. They are sexy.

I love these. I love these boots, and I was walking around the city earlier thinking, I feel so sexy in these boots, and yet they are the most comfortable boots I think I own. How do you do that?

We won't make anything if it doesn't feel good. That's kind of rule number one. And there is no reason to compromise beauty and sexiness in footwear.

So take me into your brain from start to finish. How do you create the perfect shoe? What if there are people out there listening that want to design shoes? So it's like a secret recipe involved.

Well, you know, there are tricks to our trade. But there are certain basics that I'm proud to talk about and tell. And hopefully actually inspire young people. We need excitement in the industry. And if it doesn't come along, women buy something else instead of a shoe. You have to love it. You just have to love it. There's no such thing as a 9:00 to 5:00 shoe job. So that's the first element. You don't have to be a great sketcher or a wonderful artist. That's also a terrific attribute if you have it. I happen to be lucky to have a father who had a factory with my brother. So I did, I did learn the trade first-hand. And it encouraged me when I became my own shoe designer to have my own factory rather than use someone else's.

It's almost in your blood. It's part of your DNA.

When I finally leave this world, it'll probably be in a shoe box.

You're not going anywhere anytime soon. Okay, so tell me, what shoe should every woman have in her closet?

The shoe that drives her crazy. It's not a special style. It's a, it's what she loves. And that's what's so wonderful about the variety of footwear. Maybe for you, it's a sexy pump or an over the, over the knee boot. Maybe for someone else, it's a fabulous-looking flat.

And what's the best way to store your shoes?

You should always damp, dry, clean any shoe that you've worn outside. The care we put in packaging them, when you first open that box, put it back the way you bought it. And that shoe will always keep its shape and you'll get more use out of it.

Yeah. So you have your shoes on some of the most famous women out there, especially Kate Middleton, Jennifer Aniston, Angelina Jolie.

These girls are just like you and they're ever, they're no different than anyone else. They happen to be in an industry that gives them fame. But they want to look good, they want comfort. They're walking in big cities with tough streets. So the shoe has to work on that kind of pavement. And I make sure it does.

Congratulations on your lifetime achievement award. And what a great thing to have Beyoncé introduce you?

When I first met Stuart, I saw his kindness, his warmth, and his passion for his craft. His creations are a reflection of his genuine, beautiful personality. She said something I never really thought about, but it's really true, about dancing a thousand miles in our shoes. And uh, and they withstand. She's used them sometimes over and over again. And if they hold up on the stage, you can be sure they hold up on the street.

What a coincidence, Young Hollywood, and you have a Young Hollywood Cares shoe line.

It's about helping good causes. You know, and and certain cancers are those that we try to raise money for, for research and for care. And we have found that these actresses, they all give back. When we asked them to participate in something like that, they line up and they're willing to do it and they enjoy doing it. And then the societies that take care of people who have unfortunately these diseases benefit as well.
