BIEBER IS BACK! And we couldn't be more stoked about it!
Following the Biebs's incredible VMAs performance of a mashup of new single "Where Are Ü Now" and his new single “What Do You Mean?” on Sunday night, he premiered the much-anticipated music video for the latter jam, and it showcased a JB back on track! It was so great to not only see him back on the stage doing what he loves but to see him back on his music video game! Check it out below!
And now, our 3 most favorite things about this clip!
What’s great about Justin’s music videos is that they always have an amazing story. Director Brad Furman did an awesome job of creating perspective shots. We see this when Justin arrives at the motel room and we see his and her (Xenia Deli) points of view through the door, giving it a very intimate feel. It seems more like a short film than a music video!
I am big of fan of lighting in music videos and films. I love the use of neon light at the motel, which illuminates the night sky. Even throughout all the motel room scenes, the use of straight-line neon lighting creates a sense of uncertainty and mystery before the masked men arrive.
3. John Leguizamo
Because, let's face it, actor/writer/comedian John Leguizamo makes everything better.
4. Epic Ending!
One of my favorite parts was when they go to the underground skate park. After all of the excitement in the beginning, it was a fun ending to the video. It shows the secret plan behind what is going on, effectively answering the question the title of the song poses! Well played, Biebs!
Justin has definitely made a statement. No matter what you might think about it, it's hard to argue that he is one of the most talented artists in the music industry; he does a great job of creating his own sound that is unlike anything on the charts right now. Can we also take a second to appreciate how awesome his social media countdown to “What Do You Mean?” was? PHENOMINAL! So many artists, models, actors/actresses, and web stars took part in the countdown. We are so proud of Justin and can’t wait for his new album!
