Hey, it's Willa Holland here at Young Hollywood.

Young Hollywood

We're gonna talk all things bacon obsession and saving her dog.

Young Hollywood

Hey guys, I'm Erica Rust today in the Young Hollywood studio.

Young Hollywood

We have the beautiful and talented Willa Holland.

Young Hollywood

Welcome.

Willa Holland

Hi guys.

Young Hollywood

Now this is your first time on the couch which is an accomplishment in itself, but we need to get you on the pillow here.

Willa Holland

Oh my.

Willa Holland

This is like next level.

Willa Holland

Why am I not there yet?

Willa Holland

Oh, wow.

Willa Holland

Yeah, cuz I haven't been there.

Willa Holland

Yeah.

Willa Holland

This is awesome James Franco.

Willa Holland

Okay, yeah, this is now a goal of mine.

Willa Holland

Yes.

Willa Holland

I need to be on the Walk of Fame and the pillow.

Young Hollywood

The pillow of fame.

Young Hollywood

So you've been in the industry since you were 7.

Willa Holland

Yes.

Young Hollywood

Right?

Young Hollywood

And I actually heard that it was Steven Spielberg who told your parents that you needed to be in front of the camera.

Willa Holland

That is, I mean, I I was very young when that happened.

Willa Holland

So I have no recollection of it happening, but my mother is in the other room and I'm pretty sure she will vouch for that.

Young Hollywood

Okay.

Willa Holland

That's all I can say on that one.

Young Hollywood

She's right.

Young Hollywood

The first show that you did or one of one of the most popular ones was uh The OC and you played the younger rebellious sister to Mischa Barton.

Willa Holland

Yes, I did.

Young Hollywood

Do you have any fun stories about being on set with them?

Willa Holland

Um, I mean, just altogether that set was a a whirlwind for me.

Willa Holland

It was a a life lesson into everything about this industry, but altogether it was just it was priceless.

Young Hollywood

Now I heard that you passed on a lot of pilots throughout the years after, you know, The OC and stuff.

Young Hollywood

So what really drew you to Arrow?

Willa Holland

I mean, the way that the pilot was written was a very big thing for me because I I have always looked at pilots during pilot season and always paid attention to things, but nothing really popped up that I kind of wanted to stick my teeth into.

Willa Holland

And then Arrow came along and that script was amazing.

Willa Holland

I mean, I I slammed down that last page.

Willa Holland

It was like, All right, let's do this.

Willa Holland

I want to pick up an arrow and start shooting them around and taking money from the rich and handing it over back to the people that deserve it who doesn't want to be exactly.

Young Hollywood

Now, you work very closely with Stephen Amell on the show.

Young Hollywood

You know, anything that you can tell us about him?

Willa Holland

He's He's a good guy.

Willa Holland

He's um, we've had a very interesting relationship dynamic.

Willa Holland

We met each other and didn't ever realize that we'd never see each other again, maybe eight months before both of us got casted on the show in an an audition room.

Willa Holland

And I was sitting down and all of a sudden this noise is coming.

Willa Holland

This is unheard of unhumanly noise is coming to the right of me.

Willa Holland

And it's coming from his stomach.

Willa Holland

And then he's just sitting there and he's like, I'm really sorry.

Willa Holland

And he's just apologizing to me because it's that distracting to the point where you can't even focus on the the task at hand.

Willa Holland

Oh man.

Willa Holland

And then, uh, you know, going into Arrow, I saw him attached and I was like, oh, great.

Willa Holland

The stomach growler.

Willa Holland

This is gonna be awesome.

Willa Holland

Um, but then I I I actually got to see him right before I went in for the test and, uh, we actually joked about it and that was kind of the beginning to an awesomely amazing relationship.

Young Hollywood

You guys have a really great dynamic on the show and you tend to play um, these kind of like rebellious troublemaking type teens.

Willa Holland

Back in a minute.

Willa Holland

Ollie, hey.

Willa Holland

This party is sick.

Willa Holland

Who let you in here?

Willa Holland

I I believe it was somebody who said, Right this way, Miss Queen.

Willa Holland

Well, you shouldn't be here.

Willa Holland

Oh, I'm not twelve anymore.

Willa Holland

No, you're seventeen.

Willa Holland

Ollie, I I love you but you can't come back here and judge me.

Young Hollywood

Is that is that true to true to real life at all?

Willa Holland

I hope it's not saying anything about me.

Willa Holland

I mean, really, guys, I I had my moments who doesn't when they're a teenager, but now I like to think more than most people at 21, I am very grounded and would love nothing to but to stay at home and hang out and watch TV now.

Young Hollywood

It's like a typical Sunday or Saturday for you would be just on the couch, hanging out?

Willa Holland

It would be deep frying and then going to the couch because I had got a deep fryer.

Young Hollywood

So I know that you also have like a little bit of of a bacon obsession I've heard.

Willa Holland

I do.

Willa Holland

But I actually recently had to stop.

Young Hollywood

Oh my gosh, that's heartbreaking.

Willa Holland

Really actually most my friends say that they don't know me anymore.

Young Hollywood

What happened?

Willa Holland

They're like, Who are you?

Young Hollywood

Did your cholesterol just like peak, did it?

Willa Holland

I'm afraid I haven't gone there yet.

Willa Holland

I haven't like gone to the doctor to check, but I read an article saying that each slice of bacon you eat takes off 9 minutes of your life.

Willa Holland

Apparently, I'm dead.

Young Hollywood

So you have like really limited your life here.

Willa Holland

Yeah, slightly so I'm trying to gain it back by x-ing out bacon as much as I can, which has been very difficult cuz I did cook it last night and then put it into an In-N-Out burger.

Young Hollywood

So I know that you also do Pilates.

Willa Holland

I haven't actually been keeping it up.

Willa Holland

Um, I I did it a a little while and and I'm not gonna lie, it hasn't stuck around especially because I actually, uh, I broke my ankle uh six months ago.

Willa Holland

I have a 95-pound, uh, Doberman Pit Dog.

Willa Holland

Uh, he's almost two years old now and he's he's you ran a lot and exercise a lot.

Willa Holland

So I have a skateboard and I was skating down the street with him and he was towing me and someone at a stop sign didn't stop and it was either get hit by a car or jump off and and save my dog's life, mind you as well.

Willa Holland

So I yanked the leash and broke my ankle in the process.

Young Hollywood

Yes.

Young Hollywood

So you like to skateboard?

Young Hollywood

That's very cool.

Willa Holland

Uh, skateboarding is a very big part of my life, actually.

Willa Holland

It's when I had my skateboard.

Young Hollywood

Um, I absolutely suck.

Young Hollywood

I can barely push myself around.

Young Hollywood

That's why you have your dog.

Willa Holland

Especially with a bad ankle.

Willa Holland

I mean, it's just like, it's done.

Willa Holland

I I can't do it anymore.

Willa Holland

But, uh, all my friends like grew up in the Palisades.

Willa Holland

So I became friends with a group of skaters and it just always throughout my life has always been a a very important thing to me cuz it it reminds me a lot of my childhood and very good times in my life.

Young Hollywood

I love it.

Young Hollywood

Well, you are so awesome.

Young Hollywood

Thank you so much for visiting us.

Young Hollywood

And like I said, next time you will see your face on this pillow.

Willa Holland

I hope so.

Young Hollywood

Be excited.

Willa Holland

I would love that.

Willa Holland

Yeah.

Willa Holland

Thank you.

Young Hollywood

Thank you.
