Young Hollywood

How often are you going up against a sibling for a big role?

Chris Hemsworth

Yeah, out of the whole world, not often at all.

Young Hollywood

Did you kind of feel bad when you got it over him?

Chris Hemsworth

Just turned up at his house in the costume.

Young Hollywood

Hey guys, Tatiana here at the Four Seasons Young Hollywood Studio with Chris Hemsworth, star of Thor. How are you?

Chris Hemsworth

I'm well, thank you. How you doing?

Young Hollywood

So, congratulations on this huge role. How did it feel to get that phone call? I know it was a rigorous audition process for you.

Chris Hemsworth

Yeah, it was uh incredibly exciting. I had a three or four-month period of auditioning and I was away shooting a movie at the time and uh one Saturday morning at 10:00 a. m. or something, I got a phone call and there was a few fist bumps and you styled it. I like that. Just taking a little blood. How dare you attack the son of Od. We need some help. We need some help. Security. Security. I was out on the picture then back in and back and it was a nice sort of uh ongoing experience, which my little brother actually was auditioning for as well. Which is another not normal thing. I mean, how often are you going up against a sibling for a big role?

Young Hollywood

Yeah, out of the whole world, not often at all.

Chris Hemsworth

Yes. And uh it was kind of surreal.

Young Hollywood

So, how did you kind of feel bad when you got it over him?

Chris Hemsworth

Just turned up at his house in the costume. First pumped it in space. No. No, we we we have a um a good competitive relationship and everything else with, you know, but it just tends to be a bit of a a bit of a team effort, you know. We're never head-to-head at the same time. We're in amongst different moments and uh I'd call him or he'd call me and, you know, what do you think and what do you feel this about the character and

Young Hollywood

Now, how was it working with Natalie Portman? She's kind of really taken over this year.

Chris Hemsworth

Sure, yeah, it was amazing. I mean, she's one of my favorite actresses and you know, there's no way you go. She's just incredibly giving and a great sense of humor and you know, appreciation for the work, so.

Young Hollywood

And she was your lady interest in the movie. How was that kiss?

Chris Hemsworth

It was uh amazing. I guess so, yeah. Look, to be honest, it's pretty unromantic, those things, you know, you have three or four cameras and 100 people standing around and it become like a bit of a teenager, you know. I've forgotten how to kiss and all becomes very.

Young Hollywood

Do you get nervous?

Chris Hemsworth

Yeah, I'm more nervous in those kind of scenes than with say Anthony Hopkins, you know, there's something very uh I don't know why. Hopkins is you know, an acting scene is one thing, but the kissing in front of as I said, cameras and hordes of people is Yeah.

Young Hollywood

So, you had to train for this role quite a bit to get that physique. Any tips you want to give some ladies out there and men who are trying to get that sexy body for the summer?

Chris Hemsworth

Uh, just a lot of work, you know, it was a lot of eating tons and tons of protein and then your six days in the gym and you know, it was uh I'd read the comics and I noticed the character was huge and I had to make an effort to get somewhere, you know, close to that and uh yeah, it was it was exhausting. It was more more hard work, I think than the shooting of the film.

Young Hollywood

Well, I'm going to let you go because you have a busy day ahead of you, but before you go, I'm going to give you this hat that also has a lot of superhero powers. When you put it on, the swag just gets turned up to another level, so.

Chris Hemsworth

Yes. The swag just turned up to another level.

Young Hollywood

Young Hollywood. Yeah, it'll look great on you, I'm sure. Thank you. You should wear it in the next movie.

Chris Hemsworth

Yeah, throughout the film. It would be cool.
