RJ here. We're hanging out at the Young Hollywood Studio with the one and only Gave Mathews.

I feel like I've broken the rules. At least it's Young Hollywood. I'm not either. I'm sort of old Seattle. No, not even that. Old sad. Old. Anyway, Um, I'm not I'm not old. I'm middle-aged. 40 is the new 40.

All the cameras, you guys are like camera crazy. Do you like that? There's hidden cameras too.

not counting anywhere where you guys are. Okay. It's very secret. You only know if you know. And you know. Right. Honey, you know how I feel about you selling your brother's stuff on eBay.

You have kids?

who we have sort of a little bit a little bit of children, right?

He had a killer performance last year's Grammys. and I got Adam Sandler was doing the the intro. Right on.

He said. I asked him. I said, come on, buddy. He said, okay. But now a year later, it's Grammy weekend and and you've got this movie that you're starring in. That's one of Adam's movies.

Yeah. Yeah. I'm sub starring. But you stepped up. I mean you're a before.

first I did a little cameo. That was my best. If there was an Oscar for cameos. I would totally get an Oscar for that. That's my opinion. I'm not saying that I'm disappointed by the academy's decision not to make a special award for me. Since then, I've gotten a little bit and this time's a little bit bigger. That's all right. I'll do anything. Adam calls me and says, come do a movie. I'll say yes. anytime. Whatever, because I like it. He's out of his mind.

Is he out of his mind? What makes Adam out of his mind?

How hard he works. People don't work that hard. He works harder than anyone I know. And he would deny it. Deny it flatly. But he knows how to make it fun, so it makes it not like work.

We've heard all the fun things he's done on set. I've had enough of these blue things. We're going to switch to pink. You know. Was there one moment in your life that was sort of that epiphany that guided you to to get where you are right now?

I was singing an idiot when I was uh sixth again. Um, 100 years ago. I was singing like an idiot, which is one of the things I like to do. But particularly like an idiot, and my father said, you sing so well that you can sing out of tune. And I remember that was one of the moments of my life that that that I that I think of that transformed me. And made me think, I can sing.

Are you a just go with it type of guy or are you a planner that has to have everything like set?

I've stumbled um willingly stumbled into every anything good that's ever happened to me. I I don't just go with it cuz uh it's I I turn down things. So that's how I guide myself. It's just I don't say yes to everything. I just say yes to some stuff and that's how I guide myself. But I don't I'm not pulling. I'm being pulled. So it's all about the guidance. That's how you do. No, no. Uhhuh. It's like skiing.
