And then I'm also Myrtle. I the stay I'm play a little little crazy little mouse who loves her stuff.
What's up guys? Nikki Novak here in the Young Hollywood studio with the lovely Raven Simone.
Thank you.
Looking very fashionable, which I expected you to, because you're known to be a fashionable girl. Red bottoms.
Red bottoms the little bit of concrete too cuz I wear them all the time.
So you have a birthday coming up.
I I'm going to be 26. But in this industry, you know, we make it to 26 and, you know, keep pushing.
We started when you were pretty much just born kind of.
I started when I was three.
Wow. There's so many child actors that clearly don't continue to have great careers.
I have a mission and a goal to reach. So I really don't have time to mess that up. I have plans. My goal is my goal. I got to keep it within me so that it's my own thing. But you guys have definitely the world and the supporters and everyone has definitely helped my dreams come true.
Have you stayed in touch with your costars from Cosby show and all that?
Well, the thing with the Cosby show is that it's always going to be a part of my life. So with the reunions, we get to keep in touch and I was always the youngest person of the crew. I'm still learning how to have relationships with them cuz at three, you're not going to talk nothing about except for bottles and my toy. So they were teenagers. They're gone. Now, you know, I still have conversations with Malcolm Jamal Warner and and um people here and there that. So it's it's good to have I guess you could say cousins.
First of all, everybody talked about you looking so fabulous.
I was fabulous before we keep going. I'm sorry.
And looking more fabulous. Sorry, was that rude? They talked about the change.
They did. It went everywhere and it was such a big deal and it's funny because it was a big change for me too, but I wasn't trying to do it. It just happened. So when everybody was tripping about it, I'm like, what are y'all talking about? Get over it.
So I heard also that you met one of your idols, Janet Jackson and that you wept. Is that true?
There was a couple of times that I've wept. It's a long story, but let's just say I cried in the bathroom and then after you met her. then went matter then you went in the bathroom and cried. Yes, the second time I met her was at her concert. I just couldn't breathe. Super crazy, super crazy and it was all the younger. I'm crying like Michael Jackson's sister. This is that was me and then I just ran and just held her real close. I haven't seen the picture yet, but I'm afraid.
Has anybody ever cried when they met you?
Yes, and then I tell them get it together. We got to get on stage.
So hot chocolate nutcracker. Hot chocolate nutcracker. Was that one of your dreams to perform, you know, on a stage and do all that sort of something so fun like that?
It was one of my dreams to try something new and something that I might have said I'm not going to do again. But I was told actually by Miss Felicia Rashad that I should get back on stage and I need to find a good director. Next thing I know her sister's calling and saying, hey, I need you to play Myrtle who's super, super cute. Hot chocolate nutcracker with the Debbie Allen Dance Academy has been for the last two years amazing for me. I have two roles. I'm cousin Ray Ray. And then I'm also Myrtle. I just say I play a little little crazy little mouse who loves her stuff and it's absolutely fun and I can't believe it. You know what's funny? I tried to go see a ballet and I was so bored. I was bored at the time cuz I didn't know what I was experiencing and I was like, I'm going to go across the street and have some hot chocolate. Next thing I know I'm enjoying the hot chocolate nut cracker with Debbie Allen and actually enjoying seeing people my age and my peers and younger and older. Beast out of performance in a heartbeat.
