RJ here for Young Hollywood Studio with the always funny, Tracy Morgan.
All right, we got you down to LA. We know you're like a New York boy at heart. What's the difference between the people here in LA and New York, would you say?
See, you try to trap me now, man. You You covered that hole with branches and leaves and all that. No. I get love East West Coast, man. That was my whole thing, coast to coast. I'm going coast to coast with the rock. You know, if I get a rebound, I'm going coast to coast with it. You know what was that cake? What's going on? Who's that dude? Come here and shut the damn door. Come on, man. What's happening? You having a seizure. Damn.
Now we hear you tore it up here. You told me a story about Barney's Beanery. Sunset Strip.
Oh yeah. I had a good time back in the days, man, my wild party days, man. I still go out and shake a leg and all of those things. I just don't wild out like I used to, you know. I don't I don't get down like that, but I still have a good time.
Why would they ban you from the Beanery?
Uh, drunk. I don't remember, man. I can't remember those days, man. That was all a blur.
All right, so if you were to create a movie about yourself, what would it be called and who would be in it? A Tracy Morgan movie.
It would be called One Slice and a Coke. No pepperoni, no extra cheese. Just a slice and a Coke.
All right, now let's talk about the Oprah appearance. You recently had that. When she talked about Tina Fey, you got all choked up. Thing I wanted to know is was there something in particular that was going through your mind at that particular moment you had with her?
Yeah, I was just thinking about at that moment. I was thinking about, you know, when we was on Saturday Night Live and we was young kids coming up in the business. And her writing and her like believing in me at night. You could do a Star Jones on The View. And I'm like, no. Yes, you can. And you know that adversity and the things that we shared. Let's dig them out of the ground. Come on. I'm just looking for the key.
Now, Death at a Funeral, you play a hypochondriac, that thing with the rash on your hand. Right. Any stories like that in real life?
Sometimes I just let you know that sometimes the mind can play tricks on you. You know what I'm saying? Mind trick the body, body think the mind is crazy.
Is there anything else though that you're like paranoid about or anything?
The IRS. They're ready on my back, man. Don't follow Wesley, right? I know I pay all my taxes, but for some reason I just always think the IRS is gonna run up on me.
Now, let's talk about Family Function, Death at a Funeral. It was just, you know, a very funny situation that happened. Anything in your family that happened that was sort of a birthday party or anything, something crazy?
Uh, always, you know, I see my mother my grandmother, who's in her 80s and my grandfather, who's in his 80s, they were doing the nasty dance at the family picnic last year. And she was giving them the butt.
What's the nasty dance? Show us.
She was giving them the butt, you know, and every day I'm hustling, every day I'm hustling, and it just got very awkward and I said, stop this.
Now, what's up with Twitter? You were really into it a few months ago, Twittering like crazy, and then just stopped, full turkey. We're very disappointed. We all like to look and see. You had some of the best stuff on there. Cool stuff. You need a cheeseburger at nine o'clock in the morning?
Yep. Cheeseburger at nine o'clock.
We're gonna get some more tweets from you then.
Yep. My tweets are gonna be X-rated.
Uh oh.
Yeah. I let you know when I'm getting something pregnant. I'm getting something pregnant right now. Don't tweet about it in the morning. Goddamn, man. We're gonna be late, Sandy. Uncle Razz, you're gonna be in the box next.
I like Danny Glover's character in the film. That was a fun little character. I'd love You do an impersonation of that. How would you have played that?
Oh, you get over here. Rig Rig. Um. I'm trying to find the key. And some Pepto Bismol for you.
My son and me want to know if you were to just really sum up what is Tracy Morgan?
Family man. I'm a family man. Grounded. I'm normal. Down to Earth, normal. There you go.
