So Blue Tacoma, an amazing song. Song of the summer, I think. It's definitely a summer song.

So tell me about this video.

So, the whole story is really about a road trip, summer road trip down the, uh, PCH. And so we actually, my wife and I lived out here for a month and got to drive up and down the PCH, went from LA all the way up to Big Sur and it was just like the most beautiful scenery we'd ever seen. And so the song was already already written, but it wasn't called Blue Tacoma yet. And so when we came back, I was like, we got to rewrite this song and put in these actual elements from this road trip. And it was just like, boom.

I do want to say congrats on your Chevy Blazer.

You must be a pretty big car fan because you know, Blue Tacoma. Mhm. Toyota Tacoma. Chevy Blazer. Why do you have the Chevy Blazer?

You got to check out his Instagram. He just posted it. Those that big giant square body. I've just always loved that look. And uh, like, it's like, you know, just like scrolling through like my wife loves to watch like Friends on Netflix or whatever and like the whole time I'm just like scrolling through Craigslist trying to find like the perfect blazer.

And I know you've been traveling a lot too. You were just in Italy and all these other places. So that's fun, right?

Yeah, we actually got to fly around the entire world this year. We went to Italy, London, then flew to Australia.

Wow. From Australia back to the States. You're not afraid to fly? Cuz I'm I'm terrified like flying anywhere. That's tough, right?

Oh no. I I literally fly every day. So,

It's all good. You just got to do it more often and then it's not.

Right, you don't think about you're in a chair 30,000 feet in the air. But I saw you posted you and your wife collect dirt from everywhere you go. Or sand.

We try to keep it as sandy as possible. Okay, okay. And yeah, we've got from from Israel to Myrtle Beach.

That's so cool. That's actually a really good idea. Instead of collecting shells, which is something basic everybody does. I think your posts are so funny though. I have to mention one that you were dressing up as a rich person for the day and pretending to look at million dollar houses and you're like throwing the scarf around your neck. It's like that one person who gets a number one and changes into a completely different person now.

That was just we just had a Sunday at home and that's when all the open houses are. And so we're like, we should go look at like multi-million dollar houses just to dream a little bit. And we did and I was like, I was like, what am I going to wear, you know, to like fit in at these things. And so I was like, what if we what if we dress up like rich people? And my wife got a a boomerang of me just like poking it over and over again.

That is amazing. This house is not boogie enough for us. We'll pass. So being nominated for an ACM award, I mean, I heard that you woke your wife up screaming about this. You were so excited. What was that like and

The ACMs are such a big deal for country music because it's such a prestigious award show. And um, and so to be nominated for new male vocalist, I mean, that's them in the entire music industry saying that I am one of the top five new male vocalists right now. And so that just letting that sink in was that was just like that was like a a flip of a switch kind of like, all right, this is going to work. Yeah. You know, I've been busting my butt for, well, eight years now. But like last year was the craziest year of my life. And then 2018 has already been so crazy. And then you throw the ACM nomination new male vocalist in there and it's just just like all the hard work starting to pay off a little bit.

Yeah. I bet your family was so proud too.

Oh, yeah, they are. And they're so supportive and they've been supportive since I had absolutely Jack squat going on, so driving the four focus, yeah. Oh yeah, my wife too. She's she's been supportive and married me before I had crap going on either, so.
