Hi, guys. It's Katie Stevens.
And Sam Page, and we're here at Young Hollywood. And we are about to give you some dating advice.
What do you do when you tell someone how you feel and they don't feel the same way back?
So, they you tell them you like them, and you tell them, you said, "I like you," and they say, "I love you!" No. They say, no, no, I don't like you back. That's what usually happens.
Yeah. We know that's what happens to you. But I have been in this situation. And you gotta not take it personally, 'cause it's it's it really is not about you and it's about them. You know?
It is kinda personal. It's not you, it's me. That line, that's really true. But I usually would probably just laugh it off and go, that was a test. And you passed. All right, good. Should we order? We move on with the conversation.
Okay. What should you do if another time I've never experienced you get stood up on a first date?
My parents met because my mom got stood up on a first date. And my dad was across the bar. And my parents had seen each other the night before this night at a fundraiser, but they never talked to each other. And then my dad saw my mom, and he walked up to her at the bar, and was like, "Are you following me?" And then they lived happily ever after, and 32 years later, they're still together. Wow. So that's my advice.
I don't know. My advice is to find the next cutest guy at the bar.
Yeah. But, like first dates it's like it would only ever happen if you're set up or you're on like a blind date or you're on a app date. But here's the thing is now I got out of the game before the app. Now with phones and stuff, like there's no excuse to get stood up on a first date. Like it made sense back when my parents were dating. You didn't have phones, you couldn't get in contact with people. You had to be where you said you were gonna be when you were gonna be there. So also my advice is if you're the person standing someone up, don't be a jerk. Uh. At least send a text.
Yeah. Okay. What do you do when you're being ghosted by someone you really like?
Call it a loss. Call your therapist. Or get one if you don't have one. No. I I have been ghosted, and I went through all of the range of emotions. Like you're like sad, and then you're angry, and then you're confused, and then you're angry again. And then you just need to like open a bottle of wine and hang out with your girlfriends or your good guy friends, and they'll like talk you up and make you feel like a new person, and then you'll be like, "Good riddance." And don't worry, that person always comes back. And they slide into the DMs and they say things like, "Oh, congratulations on everything, you're doing so well." Not that that's happened to me recently, but it might have.
Okay. What should you do if you're texting your significant other, and the three dots keep coming up, but they never actually reply?
If it didn't say the significant other. It's just
And it's just somebody you're somebody you're working on having a relationship. You're working on. Like you you're working on it, you're just getting to know each other still where it would be kind of uncomfortable if you're like why do you keep starting and stopping the simple yes or no question? On question. The worst is when people I wonder if that's in here too. But the worst is when people have read receipts. Oh. Super stupid. And then you see that they read it and then they don't reply. I'm like, I know you saw that.
What do you do when you have feelings for a friend and worry it will ruin the friendship?
I think you take a shot. Yeah. Cuz if you're Cuz Cuz If you're really friends and you're that good of friends, then if you try it and it doesn't work out, I don't think that ruins the friendship. I mean if you're starting to have feelings for a friend, you probably are friends because you were gonna start having feelings in the first place. So I mean you follow that course, and if it doesn't work out, it doesn't work out.
Listen, I became friends with this guy one time, and he was like he turned into my best friend. And then we went to hot yoga one day together. And now we're getting married. Thank you for watching, guys. I hope you got everything you wanted out of our dating advice. And then some.
