What up young Hollywood. I am here with Garrett Hedlund. Well you know what? There's a bone I kinda want to pick with you right now. You know we are in the year 2018 right now and social media is everything. Um and when I was trying to do my daily stockage on IG, I could not find you whatsoever. So um what do you have to say about that?
That's how I like it.
That's how you like it? Seriously? So no social media at all.
No, I've never done it. I just thought I'd be very bad at it. I really wanna be good at it and I'd probably take too many pictures of burgers and stuff like that.
Anywho, dude you are killing the entire game with all of your projects from like Mosaic to Burden to Mudbound. You are not playing around at all. I'm just curious to know what it have to take for you to prepare for Mudbound?
We were all passionate about the story. Everybody's such a professional actor, they're amazing artist and it was about us just coming together and and sort of formulating these relationships.
I had so many people come to me like oh my God, have you seen Mudbound? You need to see it like ASAP and here you are now. So clearly the chemistry behind the camera worked. Let's talk about Mosaic. Sharon Stone, legendary. How was it working on the movie?
It was amazing because it's also Steven Soderbergh directed it who's I think one of the greatest directors out there. Ed Solomon and him configured this but crazy sort of algorithm to do something that's uh like alternating narrative.
Well hold on, really quick, let's talk about that because each each of the viewers can basically decide on which character they can follow correct?
There's a thing that if you go on your iPhone right now and you download the app to Mosaic, you start with there's a section with Sharon and once you've seen that you can unlock two other tiers.
That's so dope.
Which unlocks like four other tiers which unlocks this and you can choose the route that you sort of want to go which makes it you know it's it's the first of its kind.
It's that's legendary. I have not heard of anything being that interactive. I love it. I feel like you're very like very composed and just you think before you speak and I know you should think before you
Really?
What what's like one thought you're thinking about right now?
Cats.
Cats? Stop, I'm done. Cats really? That's that's incredible. So I want to know honestly, like what are some things that you do for fun? Like what what kind of music do you listen to? Do you go out to the beach like?
Well man, if it's uh it's just right after the holidays right now. I just spent Christmas with my mom, my brother and my sister. And then I went to uh Cayman Islands and did some work there but also got to go out on the water. Uh went out on a boat. We swam with some stingrays. I screamed like a little girl.
You actually swam with them? Are you kidding?
There are about 70 of them.
As we all know, award season is right around the corner. If you could think about it which actor or actress has like had the best performance in your in your opinion.
I have a few friends that are up there right now and I just worked at I I think Margot Robbie's amazing. She's one of my favorite people in the world and I think it's wonderful what she did in I Tanya. But then also there's Mary J Blige.
Preach preach preach.
Who who just became one of my favorite people in the world. She's an incredible artist. She's like just killing the audiences with this performance and I couldn't be more proud to be chatting about her as well.
I love it. That is incredible. Dude Garrett congratulations on everything. I'm so happy for you. Hopefully the next time we sit down and talk you'll have social media. I promise you that'll be the last time I bring it up but Honestly you should get some social media.
