Maze Runner Cast Talks On-Screen Chemistry With Dylan O'Brien

You guys look so good. Can I just say you guys are like the master of like the different patterns. Can we just look at this right now?

Of course. And you two, you guys have been here before.

So, you guys remember. But when you guys were here, you guys said that it was your first time ever as a trio, we had Ki-hong here as well. In the Young Hollywood studio. And now look at you guys, you guys are pros. Now in the third film, like.

I'm all out of prizes, yeah.

If we find a cure, that's the only way all this was worth it. Do you regret it? What you did to us. I did what I thought was right. There's no guarantee we make it back from this. But we start this together. It's how it'll end, that way too. I got to see the film. It's so good. That opening scene, I I felt like it was like 15 minutes, but it was so good. Like, I just didn't want that first scene to end. It was so intense. What would you guys say is your favorite scene to film for this one?

The opening's really very good.

Yeah. For me is I actually wasn't in the scene, but I when we took the cast picture, I went down to a set. Um, that was really cool. And kind of very reminiscent of the first movie. So it happened to be on a gorgeous beach in South Africa.

That must be hot, right? Right. Right. Exactly.

So it was quite nice.

I love the whole when when they go capture Teresa. And then they go find Teresa. I love that. That's my favorite scene.

So speaking of Teresa, so you, Kaya, you get to have some romantic scenes with Dylan O'Brien, who unfortunately, is not here today. Dylan, we miss you. Come back soon. But I'm dying to know. You guys, your on screen chemistry, I feel like, is so strong. Was there any like funny moments that happened to you two during these scenes or like any like bloopers that just didn't make it? I'm just so curious. Like you guys like nail it on the head.

Uh, you know what, like we hang out so much when we're not working, that that's when we're kind of silly and fun and we'll mess around. But but I think Dylan and I really really like working together. Okay. We really like just acting together. So, whenever we have a scene together, we kind of really take it quite seriously. I guess how you're supposed to. Right, yeah. And um, we just have, yeah, that that for us is like our our little time to just play with each other as actors and and to build a scene together and I really enjoy doing that with him.

I feel like you guys are like best friends like totally off set too. You guys agree? All of you guys hanging out.

Literally, there's those hours.

Yeah, we were all together last night at Dexter's house.

Oh fun. What were you guys up to?

Yeah. Uh, we literally were just chilling around the fire and listening to music. We had chicken. We had fried chicken. We play a lot of Mario Kart. Newt played some Mario Kart last night too.

I love it. I think it shows on screen for sure. You guys' connection. If this last film happened in real life, who out of you three do you think would survive as yourselves?

I wouldn't. I would not.

Me and Thomas would stick together.

I wouldn't be bothered to try. I just feel like, oh, this is too difficult. I think the majority of us would just be like, let's just go eat and chill and have a and enjoy the final moments together. Like, I don't know if anybody would really be this strong. I don't know. He hung word. I feel like Ki-hong's like Yeah. Survivor. No. All of us together. If all of us were together, he would probably just join in with us. Yeah.

So, in the film, Wicked, you guys are searching for a cure. If you guys could find a cure for anything in the world or save anything in the world, what would you guys choose?

Oh. Um. I've I personal mine personally is sickle cell. Because I have sickle cell anemia and so.

Wow.

I think if there was a cure for that blood disease, I would it would make a lot of things much more easy for more people, so.

That's amazing.

Mine would be a cure for all the bads in the world. Just like, generally, take them all out.

Yeah. Yeah. Exactly.

Yeah. That's how you fix humanity. Just cure them all. Just just take them all out, right?

I'd be stuck in a haunted house.

I hate haunted houses. No, I'm terrified. Of ghosts.

Me too. I went to the Fright Night at Universal and I had a panic attack and left. Really? Yeah. So you'd have to stay in the haunted house for the rest of your life.

So you get to know like all the ghosts and So that sounds cool to you then, huh? You probably.
