Hello, hello and welcome into Young Hollywood.
I'm on the couch today with Candace Cameron Bure. Hi. Great to see you.
Thanks.
You too. Welcome in.
I'm like seeing double out of the corner of my eye. You have a very big photo of me. It's beautiful. It's great to have you here.
Thank you.
I was just watching this morning the segment from the last time you were here because our CEO, RJ Williams surprised you. It's so good.
It was Ricky, wasn't it?
It was Ricky and you remember Secret of Meyer. That's good.
I was Secret of Meyer.
Well, speaking of Full House, I believe filming for the next season of Fuller House just started or is about to start?
We did. We just started. So we're on our first week back at it. Yeah, I'm back at it and so happy to be together again and beyond season four and that's incredible.
Yeah. And I believe you're directing that season. That's a big deal.
I am. It is a big deal. I've been wanting to for a while just to try my hand at it and so I I get my shot this year and I everyone's already so supportive. So that's that's really good. That's my um well, it's not a worry at all. But I'm like, they're they're all my best friends I'm working with. So no one's gonna let me be really bad. You know what I mean?
Right. You can't fail.
I can't fail. It'll be good.
Is that a really big challenge to learn?
It's definitely a challenge because I haven't done it but I've been working with uh in sitcoms since I was ten ten years old.
Well, congratulations because I feel like that's such an impressive little line down your.
Yes, totally. It's been a little bucket list item. A nice one to have on there. And who knows? If uh I really love it then I can something I can do for a long time and not have to be worry about being in front of the camera all the time.
Right. Well, I'm so excited to talk about your newest book, Kind is the New Classy. I absolutely love the title. I love what it stands for. Where did the inspiration of this first come from?
I am very passionate about it because during my time when I was co-hosting The View, I wanted to keep it always kind and respectful and not argumentative. Even though that's kind of what that show is all about.
It's hard to do.
It's hard to yeah, it is hard to do it times because we are very passionate about our individual opinions. But it got me thinking a lot about kindness and always keeping it classy no matter what, no matter who we disagree with. Right. So, I wanted to write a book about it and share all the stories that I've learned over the years, the the tools that have helped me stay calm and stay rational and keep it kind even when it's really hard.
Kind. Kindness is kind of like underrated.
It is. I'm hoping I'm I'm bringing kindness back. I'm putting the spotlight back on it. But that it's a good point that kindness doesn't mean weakness. You can be kind and strong and kind and courageous, kind um and powerful and kind and opinionated. It's just treating the other person of value that they matter their opinions matter too and it stays respectful.
So, what's the secret in being graceful and kind when you're under pressure or facing criticism or stressed out?
It's definitely something you have to practice because it's very easy for our emotions to get the best of us and that's what happens that's like the knee jerk reaction and someone makes you angry just get angry back. And so when you but when you practice it, I mean there's little easy things you can do in the beginning the start of your day. But it's like take a deep breath. Take a beat before you talk to someone talk back to them. I like to go to God. I'm a faithful woman and prayer is a big part of that for me. And then I love this shirt here speaking of that with the verse underneath. Yes. Be kind. Be kind. I have so I have a new uh partnership with Day Spring and I have a bunch of kind products that are on their website dayspring. com.
I love it. That's so cute.
Thank you. So, there's lots of different kinds of things and it's like, you know, we even have really cute note cards and and of thank you notes and just kind notes and it's like that's just a good reminder. A good reminder and something that's so easy and kind of fun to do. My kids are loving right now who are older. They're teenagers. They're 18, uh 19 and 16 but they are loving writing cards and notes and handwritten letters and sending them to their friends. So, I think that's a pretty classy thing to do.
I think so too. So, you heard it here first. Be classy, write some notes, take time to be kind. Thank you for taking the time to come and hang out with us.
You're welcome. Spreading the kindness.
Yeah. And we'll see you next time.
Okay. Sounds good. Thanks. Thanks.
