Young Hollywood

Hey, what's up, Young Hollywood? It's Ally and AJ here. Today, we are actually going to be interviewing each other. So, let's do this. We have our cue cards and we're ready to go. Do you want to go first?

Why Aly

Yes, I'll start. Ally, what is the best piece of advice that you've ever given me and that I've ever given you?

Young Hollywood

We're getting It's deep. It's very deep.

Why Aly

Yeah. Or at least tell me what I've given you. Maybe being a little more optimistic than pessimistic. I'm a little bit more on that. You always say pessimistic, by the way. It's pes- pessimistic.

Young Hollywood

Oh, yeah, I do. Say it like pez, with a Z.

Why Aly

Like with a Z? I mean, I do love a good pez, so. Okay, the best advice you've ever given me. Honestly, I kind of feel like I feel like you were more of a trigger to get back into music and I feel like your advice to me, yeah, was like we need to go back to our roots and and go back to our first love, which is music.

Young Hollywood

I was. Even though we both were afraid.

Why Aly

I think we were I think we both were afraid. I think I was scared. But I think you were a little bit more hesitant.

Young Hollywood

Yeah, it would not work.

Why Aly

Than me. And I think your best advice lately was was let's get back and do it. So, guys, thank me for this new for this new release. It's really it's all Ally.

Young Hollywood

Introduction. Okay, what's your favorite song that we've done together?

Why Aly

I mean, this is going to sound ridiculous cuz it's the the new song out, but I really think take me. I think it's the perfect launch into our new music, and our new sound, and I don't know, I just feel like it came so easily in the studio, and there's something about it that is poignant for everyone, and I think especially the dating scene these days, for people that are online or meeting on apps, it's like get to know me. Take me out. It's beyond, you know, messaging me on Instagram. It's like call me, get to know who I am, take me on a date. I think that that that song sums up

Young Hollywood

Yeah.

Why Aly

I think a relationship for a lot of people. And I think it's very much a millennial song, like it's very it's very poignant right now.

Young Hollywood

What is your favorite memory of us performing together?

Why Aly

The one that comes to mind that's just funny and ridiculous.

Young Hollywood

I know exactly what you're going to say.

Why Aly

Yeah. It was probably 2006. And we were playing a charity event outside. What is that plastic screen called around the drum kit?

Young Hollywood

Oh, yeah.

Why Aly

You'll see it around drum kits on at live performances. And it fell on top of me. So, during like

Young Hollywood

Wow.

Why Aly

And literally I was down. I went to the ground.

Young Hollywood

Yeah, like your mic like fell and I was like, what the- I was like I had to pull it off of you.

Why Aly

Literally, like sister trust. I mean the plexiglass just literally like I don't know, it's the first thing I think of that was a funny moment.

Young Hollywood

Okay, what can fans look forward to in our future projects?

Why Aly

I mean, I think they can look forward to really cool imagery. I think we've really stepped it up. I mean, obviously, you know, we're not making imagery as 15 and 17-year-olds, it's going to be a lot cooler and better. But yeah, I think really cool imagery and and and a fantastic video that we're really proud of. This video is going to be by far the best video that we've done.

Young Hollywood

Of course it is.

Why Aly

To me, that's the most exciting thing coming out for the next couple of couple of weeks.

Young Hollywood

Who is your dream music collaboration?

Why Aly

Bruce Hornsby, I love him.

Young Hollywood

She loves Bruce Hornsby. Everybody at like Young Hollywood is like, wait, what? Who are these people?

Why Aly

Um I'd like to do something with Borns if we're talking current. Yeah. He's amazing. Maybe something with Haim? Like a sister thing? Five sisters. Five sisters and we all just do just massive Dixie Chick harmonies and

Young Hollywood

Okay, I like it.

Why Aly

And get down as sisters. I I approve.

Young Hollywood

Okay, can you explain the inspiration behind this album?

Why Aly

I mean, it's very West Coast, like we're from California, we're LA girls, um, we grew up in the Valley. So, it definitely sounds like music that you would listen to on a road trip or out with your friends. And I don't know, I guess we we got inspired by some of the music that we listened to ourselves, without, you know, copying it. Making sure that it sounded like us and not like an artist that we're listening to. It has like an 80s um, undertone throughout, you know, the entire EP. Yeah, we're really excited about it. It came really easily to us in the studio, which didn't always necessarily happen with past albums, but this felt like it was very organic in its creation. The completion of songs happened very quickly, it wasn't you know, it wasn't like we kept working on songs, you know, over months at a time. We would finish the song and complete it within about a week's time and it was on to the next one.

Young Hollywood

Yeah, you're right. It felt effortless. Not easy, but effortless when we were writing. Well, it was great interviewing you today.

Why Aly

You too. You were just You're just a star. I love your work and I've really I've been wanting to do this for a long time. I'm a big fan.

Young Hollywood

Thank you so much. Um, thanks guys for tuning in. Check out our single take me, it's everywhere. Thanks for having us. Bye.
