Shannon Purser Talks Intense Roles in Riverdale & Wish Upon

Hey guys, it is Audrey and the Young Hollywood Studio.

You might recognize my guest today because she's in literally everything, Shannon Purser.

I got to say congratulations.

You are on in everybody's favorite show.

Whether that is Riverdale or Stranger Things or you have a movie coming out too, Wish Upon.

Looks terrifying.

By the way, set this up for me.

What is this about?

It's it's a premise I think that we can all kind of relate to.

Yeah, it's basically this uh young girl played by Joey King finds this magical box that gives her seven wishes.

Um but every time she makes a wish, somebody dies a very horrible death.

I can wish for anything.

Money.

Get in.

What is happening right now?

Love.

Did that just happen?

There have been others who've had the box.

They and everyone they love all died.

And the music ends.

The blood price is paid.

Now if you were given a magical box and you had seven wishes.

I mean, I'm sure you guys thought about this when you were on set.

I know.

So so so give it to me.

What what

Oh my gosh.

Well, I mean, if somebody like died, it wouldn't be worth it.

Um but if I could wish for anything.

wish let's leave that out of the equation.

Let's pretend that that's not a consequence.

Yeah, I mean, I I wanted to win like an Academy Award.

I think that's Okay.

That's the dream.

That would be so cool.

But I mean otherwise, I feel like maybe an unlimited supply of like guacamole.

Those are pretty good wishes.

Yeah, I'm down.

I like that.

You've played some really intense characters.

Yeah.

What is that like for you as an actor?

Because especially like in Riverdale, we said there wasn't like a whole ton of levity to what you could do.

I really love it actually.

I I think the cool thing about acting is that I get to, you know, really explore all the different facets of the human emotion.

So, like if one day I'm crying onset and the next I'm like laughing and, you know, pretending to be drunk, then it's like it's great.

It's just fun.

We've been playing this game with anybody from the Riverdale cast who's come through.

It's called Riverdale Rapid Fire.

Oh my gosh.

And I just want you to list off you can say a member of the cast or a character in the show, whichever you prefer.

I feel like I really don't trust uh Mrs. Cooper.

I feel like she's really like scary and intense.

So, I wouldn't be surprised.

Person most likely to be stuck on a deserted island.

Uh I feel like Lily.

I love her.

You're not the only one who's said.

I know.

She's she's so sweet.

But like I I feel like she would just be like thinking about something else and then there she is like on an island.

Okay.

Well, person you would like to be stuck on a deserted island with.

Honestly, it's still Lily.

Lily is like she's super cool and I feel like we would figure it out.

You guys would just never leave.

Yeah.

I know.

We would just like, I don't know.

She seems very resourceful and smart, so I think we would like figure out how to make a shelter or something.

So, throughout season one, we knew that everybody in Riverdale has a ton of secrets.

Nothing is as it seems.

So, the person most likely to have the most secrets.

Oh, I'm going to go with Madeleine.

She's so cool.

She's like intimidatingly cool and like the prettiest person in the world.

But like, yeah, I I feel like I feel like maybe there's a lot going on that we don't know about.
