How what what inspired you to write this? First of all?

You know what? It was a very much a collaboration and I got to give credit where it's due. Adam Mansbach did uh uh the heavy lifting and and we we collaborated and Keith Knight did the uh uh illustration. But it was it was a uh more like me feeding him ideas and uh uh you know, and then he coming up with like little crazy ways to put it in the book.

Mhm. And it's geared towards is middle-age readers?

Yeah, middle school. Middle school, not middle-age, middle school.

Middle-age. Middle-age. Yes, some of them have matured quite yet.

Oh, good. All right. What's that one going to be called?

Oh, it's called Craig Robinson, My Life. I've been Wait. What about That's why I can't get super candid in interviews because it's like save them for the book. Yeah. But yeah. There's a chapter about us in there.

Oh, yeah. A whole chapter? A whole chapter? My goodness. Yeah. My goodness. Guess what I'll call it. A little scared. Your chapter's just called Aubrey, not Audrey. I like it. What what is what's a what's a fond or maybe not so fond memory you have of your teaching days?

Um, you know, I used to have this class that uh

First of all, what did you teach?

I taught kindergarten through fifth grade music.

Wow.

And there was one class who like all day long, they were in a in the room with the security guard and the teacher. So they had to have two people like kind of controlling them. Then they sit on the music and just go, "Okay, there you go."

You know what? It's uh, be yourself.

Um, I think there are several reasons. Uh, you get to be a rock star for three or four minutes or whatever it is. Sure. Um

It's usually terrible singers who like karaoke.

Yes, and you get to be terrible on purpose. It can still be nerve-wracking, but uh I think it's freeing.

Do you have a go-to karaoke song?

I have I have many, but yeah, um

What's your favorite right now?

I might I might rock that Muse, Time Is Running Out. Okay.

Oh, wow. Time is running out. Time is running out. I like your version better than their version. Is that weird?

Oh, that's crazy cuz I just did like that one line. That's awesome.

I It gives it's giving me I'm filling it out in my head. I know you can do the whole thing. Yeah. Right. You can do all the Oh, wow.

And I might rock that Johnny Cash, Hurt. Okay. Yeah.

In Table 19, you play someone who hates going to weddings. So real talk, are all weddings just boring?

No.

Yes, they are. Oh my god.

No, no, no. By the way, uh uh uh I mean, I've been in some incredible incredible weddings. Okay. Like where where um where like one guy, this was a Jewish wedding I was in, like one guy laid on the floor and then that guy jumped over him, laid on the floor. Guy jumped over those two, laid on the floor. To like seven people and everybody like, "Whoa!" And it was crazy. And wedding Oh, man. Weddings can be so fun.

Last one. So in the office, you play Daryl, who was like a somewhat disgruntled warehouse worker. What's the worst job you've ever had? Just like I'm talking at in your entire career.

I worked at McDonald's.

You did?

I worked at McDonald's. Yeah. The the very first time I ever said the words, "I need a beer," was after day working at McDonald's. I just need a beer. I just need a cold beer. I didn't even drink. You just you just hold it. And one and one day uh, like I was like, every once in a while, they'll throw some chicken McNuggets, so I'm a one day I did it and I closed the door and the owner was right there. He was like, "Hey, how you doing?" And I was like, "Ugh." Um,

How long did you last at that job?

You know what? I I did pretty good. Okay. He didn't he didn't throw me out right away. Nice guy. Um, let me see. Was that the worst though? I'll think of it once while I'm sure but It was so long ago. I was in college and I had to walk like four miles to get to work.
