When you're with like a big label or whatever, it's like you go on tour and then you get back in the studio for like six months and you make an EP or an album and then like wires got crossed with our tour and it got postponed and I just like felt really bad and I'm like, I need to like in the meantime, I guess give the fans more music. And on top of that, it's like I I was like

Do you realize that? By the way like you were one of those people who actually like care. You know what I mean? Some people are like, oh, we're not going to play music for the world.

I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for my fans. Like everybody says that but I literally wouldn't be even in LA right now if it wasn't for my fans. I'd probably still be working at my grocery store in South Florida. Um, but uh, yeah. And on top of that, it's like I've been learning how to produce my own beats and it's so easy to like do it out of your bedroom and it's just like like you guys never see like what these big studio sessions look like. Like sometimes there's eight people in a room and there's like a lot of pressure and like it's crazy. And so to just be like in a bedroom by yourself, like with nobody telling you what to do or that's just me on my piano making my beats on the little drum pad and it's like the first time in a while where it's just me, like literally just me making the music. Thank you. Thanks a lot, dude. You might know this one is called Overnight. I know sometimes you want to go and give up. Louder. You know we only argue when I'm messed up. Yeah. So maybe we should try and kiss and make up. Yeah. Come on. Or if you hate me baby, maybe you should just leave. But I can see you say the sh** you don't mean.

So so tell us about some of the songs that you've done because what first like where do you get your inspiration? Like how do you just when you go in your room, is there something that like inspires you to just be like I'm going to write about this right now or like what?

Not really something in my room, just stuff that's happening in my life. Um right now I'm kind of going through a breakup which is kind of weird for the first time in a while. Um, so it's like

It's never easy.

It's never easy, but it's also the first time that like I've really experienced how easy it is to write a song when like you're in that kind of like really deep place and you don't have to fake any lyrics, you know? Like I don't even think like, is this good, is this bad? Like I literally just put it out. And like I'm trying to put one song out a week. And so far the fans like love them.

That's one song a week. That's crazy.

That's what I'm trying to do. I mean

Yeah. I'm I'm working really hard right now just to just to kind of make sure the fans are happy. But it's also it's interesting because you started off like rapping and then now you're kind of getting more into like singing like I mean, are you still doing the rapping or is it kind of like

Not really. Not for now. I mean a lot of people I know like my first organic fan base that I built way back in the day like started loving me because of my raps and like the inspirational stories and stuff. And that's all cool. Like I love all that and like I would never go back and change that but like as I grew up, it's like I look different. I feel different. I have different friends. Like I just started to kind of wanted to transform my music into you know, a little bit more mature and sexy, just kind of cooler music. They say a change takes time. But baby we can fix it overnight. Yeah. If you let me try. Then maybe we can fix it overnight. What? Overnight. Hey. Oh. Oh. Overnight. I'm running out of patience, we should slow down.

Um, and then on you're still like a huge fan of John Mayer, right? Like I know. We talked about we talked on the red carpet that time. I think it was the Jingle Ball and you were like looking at his Snapchats or you look at them every day probably religiously.

Yes.

Okay. Well, okay. So last time we talked about Have you met him yet?

I have not. Oh my god. But I need to tell you this funny story. So the last time that we talked about him was Jingle Ball, right?

Yeah.

Like December like end of December.

Yes.

Okay. So So January 1st, I'm driving in my car and I shouldn't have been doing it but I was on my phone and I refreshed Instagram and John Mayer post a picture that says like LA tonight, Hotel Cafe, intimate show. $10 a ticket.

Shut up.

And I pulled the hell over. I put my credit card information in, I got two tickets for $20. And a second later it sold out. And that night I was in a room this big with Kanye West, Dave Chappelle, watching John Mayer from this close. With like 50 people in the room. Are you like to me, he's like my favorite artist like dead or alive ever. So like nothing will ever top that for me.

And you didn't talk to him at any point?

I couldn't. He walked on stage and then he walked off after.

You should have just yelled to him like John and all.

Trust me, I tried. But like that was definitely enough. Like that was just like the coolest thing ever.

Is that John Mayer?

Yeah, that's him. You're like, I don't know who John Mayer is. See that rapper? My tongue is tied, I don't know what to say now. Yeah, but we don't have to talk to work it all out. Okay. Hey. Hey. Cause once you crash and burn, you burn it all down. You know it's getting late, we may as well now.

Uh, I want to know what is your like what's your motto or like what kind of advice has driven you to be who you are and what you do?

That's a good question. It's very deep. I could talk about that for three hours. I mean, really just like in this industry, you have to have like the toughest skin in the world because like the highs are so high and the lows are so low. Like when you're on stage, like in front of a million people, like it feels like like the best feeling. And then like when there's days where you're just like home and you're just like looking through Twitter and like you see other artists like doing good or something like, it's very hard for me sometimes to just like not look at other people and compare myself to other people and there's a lot of ups and downs. So I really just try to just stay levelheaded with it all and keep grinding and keep practicing.

Um, my question is like, what's the hardest thing you've had to overcome while in the music industry?

I guess just like a lot of like the behind the scenes stuff that you guys don't really see.

back in the day when I started, it was just me and like my dad. But like a lot of a lot of people are involved now and a lot of people have different opinions and sometimes it's just it's just hard.

I would agree, you just surround yourself with good people and then you got to get that on your shoulders. And you do, so you're just like a cool, like you're you. You know what I mean? I think that's that's key. So just be true to yourself.

I think that the city that I was raised in, like this very small suburban city in Florida and like my family and friends, like they kind of just like molded me to like there's no way that like I could ever like change into like this Hollywood, like you know, LA there's a lot of people
