Hey guys, it is Audrey in the Young Hollywood studio. You know her as Cheryl Blossom on the CW's Riverdale. But we know her as Madelaine Petsch.
Hello.
Hi. I saw just just flowing red hair walk in and I was like, has to be Cheryl Blossom. There she is. In the flesh.
In the flesh.
Gotta to say and I and we were talking earlier, but my favorite scenes are the ones where Cheryl comes on cuz I know she's gonna say something sassy and fun. How fun is it to play her?
Honestly, beyond what I think you could ever imagine. I
So it's even better. It's even better than you could ever imagine your life.
It's so much fun. I love her so much and I miss it like so much right now. I just want to get back to filming.
Mhm. Did you originally read for Cheryl or did you go out for other parts?
Yeah, I mean, I think they had me come in for Betty cuz they didn't have sides for Cheryl yet, but they always knew they wanted me for Cheryl. Like from day one our casting director and our show runner basically told me you have the job, we just have to convince everybody else. So, I mean, I look so much like her in the comics too and it it all makes sense.
So, we had Marisol in not too long ago and she talked about the moment where you guys were at the table read and found out, you know, who who did it who killed #who killed Jason Blossom? What was that moment for you? Like it's such a like a gut wrenching like thing to find out who murdered your brother. Like it's very important for her to know and understand.
Yeah. Sure.
Uh, the Cheronica dance. People are buzzing. People are buzzing. People are buzzing. Wigs are flying. They are shook. I'm learning all these things for the first time. I'm gonna ask like in both days, by the way. Oh. Well, well, you did it very well. Yeah, you did. It was very smooth like butter. You can prove me wrong right about this, but I feel like people who are trained dancers like aren't so up for like dancing in the club so much.
No.
Yes. See. I knew it. I knew it.
Like when I'm like with your My friends are like, let's go dance and I'm like, no. I'll be sitting here watching you happily. But I also don't go to the club. Like it's not my vibe at all. No, it's not my even though I can't. I can't let's not like with really my people I just can't.
But maybe at a party, right? Do you would you dance when people dance at parties?
I mean, the parties I go to the dance party I go to. I go to. I mean, I'm the only one who shows up, but that's I mean, that's not the point. I do that.
Oh. I do that too. Oh. In my in my room?
Oh, yeah. I do. I do dance parties in my room all the time by myself.
So what's your signature move?
Uh, uh, I don't know. I like it all. A little bit of like the hip shake, you know? Oh, good. Yeah. Like a little sass here. A little wink. Little like You look good today, Madelaine. My my morning pep talk.
All the same lady. No kidding. I do at morning pep talks.
You do. I have to. Every morning.
What are affirmations like what are we talking about?
Yeah, uh like kinda like affirmations like um, like uh, uh, what's it called? Envisioning. Like envisioning what you want and like kind of intensioning and stuff. And so I do like a little morning pep talk every morning. And I dance around a little bit and I'm like, you look good. You're so cute. Oh my goodness, get yourself. I'm such a dork, by the way. I'm the biggest dork.
I like you. Great.
I like you too. Perfect.
My morning pep talk is more like, don't screw up today. Try to look like a human. Maybe put on pants. Like That's how my
Do you have to remind yourself? You put on pants.
