That was a good intro right there. Um, you are killing it by the way. Just in a few years, you have a massive fan base. I mean, Latin superstar. Woo.

I'm celebrating my fifth album. You know, just yesterday was my first album's birthday, uh, seven years since my first release. Last year, I released my first English language album. It had collaborations like J-Lo, Snoop Dogg. But I released my fifth, too. Um, my new single with Shakira, which we just finished doing the music video, too. But then we got Chris Brown and Spring TV on the album. We got Zendaya.

You have a crazy amount of collaborations on there.

Zendaya's like recording in Spanish. She did a really great job. Shout out to Zendaya. She did a really great job with her accent.

So she didn't know Spanish and you had to teach it to her, or?

I'm sure she's taking like a class in school or something. But

How did that come about with Zendaya? Cuz I know you guys have talked before about wanting to do.

Yeah, I had um, for a while been meaning to work together and we had this song and was, oh, maybe this one's the one.

Your last album was the your English.

Yeah, that was my first English album.

First English one. So what was like, was that challenging to do for you, or was it like?

Um, I had to learn English in like six months. Nah, just kidding. Um, doing pretty well. No, you know, it was just I I got used to recording in Spanish for so long. But recording in English was just so different to to everything I've done before. So that was kind of fun and seeing the difference between the two. But it wasn't a challenge as far as like, I don't know, it felt normal to me, but I think like to my fans it was different to like.

I was going to say, like, how did your fans react to that?

Yeah, I think I mean, a lot of my fans, especially in the States are bilingual. But I think it was cool. It was a cool experience and I think a lot of them liked it because they got to see like a whole another side of Prince Royce.

I know lyrics mean a lot to you because like you said, like a lot of times now songs, like the lyrics kind of just get lost, like in the rhythm. Is it true that you started writing poetry? Like that's kind of what got you into songwriting?

I wanted to be an English teacher. I was studying journalism. And then you went into Spanish songs. But uh, yeah, that's true. That's true. But um, I needed like an extracurricular class and I got into this poetry jam and that's when I started to write and then the poems became songs.

On this new album five, like what's kind of like the message behind a lot of the songs?

Lots of I mean, a lot of them are very personal to me. There's 18 tracks, stuff that's happened to me, either in the present or in the past. So I think it's important to like have a message, you know, and and really like get deep into the heart.

Uh, well, I do have a question because I, I don't know Spanish very well. So I'm wondering if you can teach me.

Speaking of your lyrics. Um, so I took a couple I took some verses from Deja Vu. Okay. Um, so I'm going to say it in English and you are going to translate it in Spanish and then I have to you have to teach me how to say it. Okay. Last summer, I went out with Ariana, last summer, that was pretty fun. Um, I went out with Enrique and Pit a few years back.

Okay, you have to tell me about that cuz that I can't, I mean, their energy levels is just so infectious. Like. You know like sometimes you watch people on TV and you wonder like, I wonder if they like that in real life. And you look at Pitbull and you think, I wonder if he's like always turned up like that every single day. And then you meet him and you realize that yes, like. He really is like that. For real, like, yo, what's up, Pitbull? So what's going on? Every day. But like, how is that whole experience? I mean, was there something that

Not it's cool. It's cool. I mean, going on tour is always fun. Yeah. Pit and Enrique, I mean, we've known each other for years. They've been brothers to me. They've guided me, you know, through a lot of through a lot of things and in my career. So it's always fun to go out with people that that you're cool with, you know, and that you know, and you hang out.

Um, so we'll speaking of five, I do have a couple quick questions. Uh, related to five. Are you ready for this?

Okay. So, if you could name five things that you would have to take with you if you were stranded on a deserted island.

Definitely my cellphone.

Really? On a deserted island?

Wouldn't you want to just like not be connected and?

But you bring your phone, you already got your iPod, you already got everything there. So you bring your phone, you gotta take pictures. So you bring your phone, some snacks, some clothing, like a spare. Maybe some clothing would be good.

Well we don't need clothes. I mean, you are on a island.

Bring someone with you. Bring a girl with me. Some sunglasses, maybe.

Yes. Maybe some some sun some sunblock. Okay, so I think you're set. Okay, what are five qualities you look for in a girl?

Five qualities, I think personality is important. I look at a girl's lips. I look at a girl's eyes. I look at a girl's posture.

As he's like looking. Okay.

No, I'm like look you know, I'm like looking at you cuz I'm wondering.

He's like, what do I not like? Um and then you look at her finger to see if she's engaged. Okay, um so can you describe yourself in five words?

Myself in five words, I would think um, it's hard to describe yourself. Loving. Okay. Caring. Ambitious. Yes. Talented.

Okay, lastly, name five reasons why you love your amazing fan base.

I love my fans because they're dedicated. They're gorgeous. Loving, caring, beautiful. They show so much dedication. I've grown up with some of these girls, you know, through the years. You know, it's a dream come true to see people that really, you know, are passionate about my music or passionate about what I do. So, big shout-out to all the fans.
