Okay, so I am the messiest person in the world. So when I walked in here and everything was clean, and there were like four pretty girls like doing stuff, I was like, ah no, no, no. Like I'm not going to be that guy. Like I already look kind of trashy. Like I'm not going to like make anything messy. So I'm just like, alright, I'm going to keep my shoes at the door. Nothing can go wrong. Like so I'm trying to like not leave an imprint. Okay, I'm just like, Okay.

Well you have built a little YouTube empire, I want to say, a little bit, right? Your videos are hilarious. Um let's kind of start from from when you started gaming, um

Gaming?

When you started gaming? Yeah. What, what did gaming allow you to do and when did you start?

Oh god. When I was five, like just Wow. And I've been playing games like for hours and hours and hours and hours. Mhm. Um and what it, but what it allowed me to do was like, in games, the characters are like indiscriminate of like, you could, you may have just gotten an F on your test, right? But Mario doesn't care. You know? Mario just wants to save the princess. He doesn't care about your F.

Mario just runs to ride his cart.

Exactly. And you like chill. Yeah. Yeah and every time you turn on a game, it's just like, oh you had a bad day? Well, it's going to be the same exact experience. It's like, it was the only consistent thing because like growing up I was struggling with my sexuality too, right? So like Mario doesn't care that you're a sexually confused small child. Mario just wants to save the princess. That's, that's what happens. So I just kept playing games and like it was such a good way to be away from the world for a bit.

Mhm. Did it help you deal with things like bullying? Um, you talked about being, you know, like emotionally confused or or a little bit confused. Did it help you deal with that then?

Yeah. Cuz then I started playing professional games like games like in tournaments and stuff. When you go to a tournament, you get a pseudonym, you get to like name yourself anything. Now, some people name themselves like Dark Lord of the East. I mean, I'm not a, no, that's not me. But me, I named myself Sky. I have that's my gamer tag. How dare you? Uh, just everybody has the worst. Like, For me, I named myself Sky. I didn't have a chance like just I just I named myself because I'm clearly gay. Like there's no way that I had no chance growing up. But so I named myself Sky and it was this kind of chance to reinvent yourself, you know what I mean? Like at school if you didn't have a lot of friends, it was the first time that people were indiscriminate. It was like Mario doesn't care that you're this. We're going to save Princess. These tournament players don't care, they don't care anything about you. You just give them your money and try to win the tournament. So it was this weird like I can, I can reinvent myself. I can actually start over and that's what I did. Which is why I legally changed my name from Greg to Sky because Yeah. Yeah.

Oh, wow. You legally changed it? Like on your birth certificate?

I have I have my old name redacted and then um that's like my legal first name. It's your government name now. Wow. And I did that because I felt like that was the reinvention of who I was. Mhm. Uh so I was like, I mean, I'm not I don't think I would legally change my name to my gamer tag. Like Yummy Mochi. That's not like, no. That's not. Yeah. See, other people like I said are like XXX like, you know, Woman Slayer 9 or whatever. I'm just like, no. I'm good. No. No.

Yeah. And then you started taking your thoughts about gaming, other gamers to YouTube. What's the reaction been like on YouTube? Because you've gotten a lot of positive reactions and then of course there are the haters.

I don't believe in haters. I know that sounds like, that sounds like a thing that's like a buzz article, but no, I don't believe in haters. Haters is too big of an umbrella term. Okay. Uh and what I mean by that is like if someone gives you criticism on a video, some people are just so sensitive, they won't take it. Well, that you're a hater, you know what I mean? And some people have given some really, really harsh criticisms on my videos, but you if you look through my chat history and look through my comment history, you'll notice that I'll say like, okay, why do you feel this way? Why do you, why don't you like my content? What about me makes me not likeable? I think it's an easier way to to elicit some good information or give yourself peace of mind. Because if they respond with, you're fat and I hate you, it's like, okay, well, you weren't going to be constructive anyway, so you know. I'm going to just like not talk to you. Block, delete. Right. But but I never block people, but I I just I just ignore it. But if I asked them, I have had a lot of people. I asked them like, hey, why don't you like this? And they'll actually be like, well, I just feel like your persona's too arrogant. I feel like you've overused this joke. I don't like you using being black and gay as a crutch. And you actually get good feedback. And then nine times out of 10, they're like, wow, I didn't even think that you would ever talk to me like this. I think that's kind of cool. And then they become a fan, you know what I mean?

What is your gaming face usually? Yeah, yeah, okay. Because can we, can we do our gaming faces? Because mine is like not cute.

No, mine's mine's. I've been photoshopped in a lot of pictures. Can we do, can we do a little like, Okay. So my gaming face, I don't know why. Like I just I already know that I'm hideous, but this doesn't help, right? So I'm going like this. I'm like, That's what I look like. Okay, so let's pretend we're playing like what are we playing? Let's pretend. Okay, we got our controllers. What? This is like level one right here. I'll be like, and level two, and level three. I look like a monster and I like, and I don't notice it. And then this is me. I'm like, and I rage quit. And that's what that's usually, that's my, that's my face.

See, I don't, I don't ever rage. I'm never like rage like, ah!

No, I just like, I just say that it was lucky. And I'm just like, well, some of us don't use luck to be good. Yeah. And I, and I'm, you know, really, I mean, I'm salty all the time, but I never like rage.

For anyone out there who has a gamer in their life and is trying to get a handle of gamer speak, if you wouldn't mind kind of defining some gamer terms for for anybody out there who's trying to understand the gamer in their life. Um OP.

Overpowered.

Overpowered. And when do you use that? When do you drop the OP?

When you don't feel good about losing to a character. Like you did everything you could to beat this character. Like you, you put your heart into it. And there's no logical reason why you should have lost. But you just did. Because the character's stupid. That's when you use OP. You're like OP. Yeah, I'm just like, overpowered.

Overpowered. I feel that way after a buffet. Like I feel that way after lunch a lot of times. I'm just like.

I'm just like, yeah, and OP. Yeah. No. Some of the food is OP. Like I like, okay, so like Red Velvet cheesecake. Out of control. Like that needs to be arrested. Like immediately. This room is OP.

Alright. So when do you use that?

And when you're salty. When you're mad, but you know that Riot's looking at you. You know that like a company, a video game company is looking at you. Like if you play any game, right? You know that there's eyes on you, you always say GG. Because you don't really want to say good game because it wasn't a good game because you're mad. But you know. It's like, it's the same thing as like shaking hands with someone at the end of a game. Like you, you know, do a little high five, you know, down the line. Everybody lines up, right? I don't, man, if I lose. No. Okay. No, I I have good sports. I've been playing competitive games for like 13, 14 years. So I'm I can handshake people and stuff. But oh, like I'm going to talk the good in my head. I'm going to literally walk around like like pretend like I get so mad, but then like after five minutes, I'm okay.
