There's no way I'm going to let Chase Crawford, who did not train for this triathlon, beat me who's been training for 3 months. And there's all these photographs of me just like, like bent over about to vomit and there's photos of Chase crossing the finish line. He's like smiling and waving.
From How to get away with Murder, Jack Falli. He hang out with me on the couch. Hello.
Hey.
Welcome.
Thanks for having me.
Thank you for dropping by. Oh, look, look who that is. Yeah. Yeah, that's not awkward at all. So much great buzz about this show and you're working with such a fantastic cast. Yeah. How fun has this experience been for you?
Incredible. I mean, in this industry, it's it's one thing to even have a job and then to have a job that's a hit, that people respond to and that resonates with, and and a job that's led by Viola Davis and all the other. Yeah. She's a rock star. Um we were doing a scene the other day actually, me and Vee, and she kind of
You and Vee, I love it.
Vee and I. And and she sort of stopped me and she was like, I I think you should do it this way. And I was like
And were you like, nah.
I was like, Vee, I got it. Okay, yeah. I'm okay. Multiple award winning. Thanks. Vee. Yeah, exactly. I'm sure I got this. I got this unlock.
What you did have unlock too was this uh sex scene that you had to film recently, which you hilariously live tweeted. Yeah. Um I got to say, I will never see any sex scene in the same way. It's actually hard for me just to make eye contact with you right now.
Yeah, sure. Same. Same. Imagine how I feel. Yeah. Um it started off sort of as a joke and just, you know, I was I was like Snapchatting which which talk, which pair of briefs to uh to wear. That's the that's the industry term.
Yes. It's a technical term.
It is. It really is. And and I was having fun with it, but you know, it's something we talk about on set all the time. It's just body image and how and how it's portrayed in the media. And how, you know, we're we're now used to going to the movies and seeing these superheroes on the big screen and how that effect is sort of starting to trickle down now into television. Right. And when people take their shirts off, they look Godlike. And how that maybe isn't the best.
Again, no pressure.
Yeah, like no pressure. And to that remark, Pete Noack, our creator has always been extremely supportive of saying, I don't want you guys to look like that. I want you to be real people on television. And it's usually me, the actor that is like, well, you know, but like I kind of want to look. I want to look like yeah. Can we do some makeup and some maybe some baby oil. And all of it, you know.
There's a lot of baby oil involved.
There's so much. I did not realize. So much. Yeah. There's actually a scene in one of our earlier episodes where both Charlie Weber, who plays Frank, and I get out of showers. And Charlie being the pro was like, I would like baby oil. And he like was all.
And you're like, me too, please.
No, no. And I didn't I didn't know. So I we shot on different days and if you look at the footage, I like come out and I'm not wearing baby oil and Charlie comes out and it's just like so. But to to that end, and you look awesome. You look great. Baby oil or or not baby oil. You actually did a triathlon.
Yeah, yeah.
So whenever I hear whenever I hear somebody, you know, is doing a triathlon or training, I'm just like, why? Right. So, I mean, that seems like a lot of work.
Yeah. Yeah, yeah. That was actually a little counterintuitive because while I was training for the triathlon, I'm like, I'm training for a triathlon. And eating everything in sight. Right. So it totally did not work. But you know, my dad is actually a big marathoner and triathlete and I've always wanted to do one with him or for him. Mhm. Um some folks over at Disney, they have a team. And they approached me about it and all the proceeds went to the Children's Hospital here in LA. And so, I thought it was just a perfect storm of of positive reasons to do one. And ended up raising something like $12,000 to help my friends.
Oh, thanks. Awesome. Yeah, okay. Single clap, all right. I like it. I like the single clap.
Thank you. Thanks. But yeah, I mean the fans and like everyone that that contributed, it really was heartwarming. Yeah. Um but it was, you know, it was in competition and I was in the in the celebrity category and I found out the day before that my buddy Chase Crawford was also competing. So at the end of the day, I was literally just trying to beat Chase Crawford. And I mean that kid is.
That is like the handsomeest competition ever by the way.
Well, I mean, yeah. He's an athlete. I'm fairly certain Chase Crawford did not train for the triathlon. Like he kind of just showed up on the day. And around like the last, the run's last, right? Yeah, yeah, yeah. And I see him gaining on me on like the last mile and a half, two miles. So I just dead sprint, dead sprint cuz I was like, there's no way. I'm going to let Chase Crawford, who did not train for this triathlon, beat me who's been training for 3 months. And we crossed, you know, I crossed the finish line maybe 10 seconds ahead of him. And there's all these photographs of me just like, like bent over about to vomit and Chase there's photos of Chase crossing the finish line. He's like smiling and waving. It's ridiculous. He's like Mr. America. He like ran in slowmo. Oh, yeah. Milked it.
I love it. I like that your motivation was sounds like it was yes, it's for the kids and that was you know, really.
Yeah. mostly to be Chase Crawford.
How is your legal knowledge? Because you
Oh, really? Oh, good.
So this is going to make this next game that I want to play with you even more fun.
Great.
It's called Barely Legal.
Sure.
And not as as naughty as it sounds. So it's going to be pretty fun though. So, an Amicus brief is a, someone who is not part of a case, but offers information anyway. B, when two people who were once friends go to court against each other. Or C, the thing you have to wear over your personal area when you film for how to get away with murder.
Probably. Oh, yeah, it is actually. Yeah.
Yeah, right? Exactly. Yeah, right. Of course. Someone who is not part of a case but offers information for it. So, when a jury is being selected, the process is called A, Subpoena Duces Tecum, Contra Bonos Mores. Uh-huh, sure. Or C, Voir Dire.
B. C.
Huh? Aren't you on our show? How often do we practice law? So, last one. In Michigan State, it is illegal to tie a crocodile to what? Is it A, a fire hydrant? B, a car? Or C, a child?
I'd say probably C, a child.
It's fire hydrant. Fire hydrant. Can't tie your crocodile to a fire hydrant. It's also illegal to fish off the back of a giraffe in Michigan.
Is it really?
Yeah.
Are you making that up?
I'm not making that up. I'm going to look it up. Okay. I will. How do you know that? I'm a Michigan native, so I just know all the.
Are you really? Okay. Well, that would make sense.
Well, you just, I don't know. It's fire hydrant. So, don't tie your crocodile to a fire hydrant. Jack, thank you so much for dropping by.
Yeah, thanks for having me.
Next time we'll have some baby oil ready.
I'll study some law.
Yes. Please do. Please do. For sure.
