I have a game real quick. I want you guys to take these arrows. This is the coolest arrows ever. Yeah. So I'll ask you guys a question, and you guys have to point to the person. Who is the bigger flirt? Mmm. Hey, guys, what's going on? I'm Brandy Chang in the Young Hollywood studio with Peyton List and Jacob Bertrand, the stars of Disney's The Swap. Hi, guys. That was a mouthful.
Hi.
I don't know what to say.
Yeah, that was a lot.
You you you swam through that though. That was that was a mouthful. I was waiting for you to mess up right there, but it's all good. How is it going?
We're good. How are you?
Hanging out. I Got your big bowl of candy. That was awesome. I know. I see somebody brought a piece of the candy over. Who did that? Who's candy is that? Is that Jacob's? I like your style. Um, okay, so you guys are starring in The Swap. Can you tell me a little bit about that?
Basically, both of our characters end up in the nurse's office together. Oh, there's photo from behind. And we're both complaining about who which gender has it easier and like whose life is easier. And then we end up switching bodies through a text exchange.
Wow. Yeah. Sort of Freaky Friday-ish.
Yeah.
I love that kind of concept. It's super cool. Really? I've always loved those movies. I've seen everyone that kind of has to do with that. With like the body switching. Was it difficult playing two characters? Because essentially that's what you're doing, you know? You're playing yourself, and then you're playing each other. So there's obviously probably some mannerisms that you guys have to pick up and
Yeah. That's exactly it. Yeah, it was a lot of that. It was her body posture, you know? It's just super like upright, you know, versus my like boyish sort of like little slouch that I got going. And then just coming up with like nervous tics for our characters and like so we could do that when we did switch like so it was clear to people and I had to learn rhythmic gymnastics and he had to learn hockey.
I read that. That's really cool. Was that difficult to train for that?
It was really difficult. I first went in and all the girls are on these chairs that open up and like over extended splits. And I'm so not flexible, so I was just like, "Okay." This is going to be a fun two weeks. Yeah. And it was intense, but really fun.
Yeah. And then what about you? Did you know how to play hockey before?
I had no idea how to ice skate. I didn't know how to ice skate. So they're like, "All right, Jacob, here's your two week crash course and you're just going to be our star hockey player for this movie." And I was like, "All right, cool," you know? Um, so yeah, I
You did a really good job though.
Yeah, they just kind of threw me in with this super good AAA team. So they were just, you know, skating circles around me. Um, but I can hockey stop on one foot now.
Impressive.
So I'm happy I can do that, and I'm apparently a righty in hockey.
There you go. Yeah. In the movie, your characters are kind of facing a lot of the ordinary pressures that teenagers go through. I know your character is kind of having, you know, some some trouble with her best friend, and you're you're trying to, you know, please your parents. How do you guys deal with those kind of pressures in real life?
Mm. This is a good question.
That is a good question. Whoever wrote these, congrats. Um, I feel like our characters never really discovered how to actually have like real conversations with our parents and just tell them how they really feel and like have like honest open conversations. And with my parents I always do have that. I always have like a really open relationship with them. And then I have a twin brother, Spencer. And my family really is always has always been there.
Yeah, I have like certain people I go to for different things. Like girl advice is my sister. Like I just always go to my sister for advice. Just you know, other stuff where it's like dudes messing with me at school. It's like my dad or my brother, like when I'm super stressed out about homework, my mom just has this way of just like calming everyone down and just I don't know, she's just that person in our family. But yeah, I just say for me like my siblings and then my parents are just super supportive.
And I'm ain't going to Peyton for girl advice too, right?
Yeah. What's your relationship like offset?
We hung out so much. Like we went to dinner and um, we'd hang out on like the cast with the
Yeah, we we we became really good friends with the whole cast. Like we're the only two that was from America. Go America.
Yeah. We can't say cuz I can't. Yeah, but we actually went to um, Canada's Wonderland, which is one of the amusement parks there on our weekend. Yeah. And we we all were like starting to really bond at the end of the movie. And we even went on a ride where we got hit we got hailed on on the roller coasters. So it was like we're on this crazy roller coaster and getting hailed like shot at our faces.
Oh my gosh. You got to walk out of there like
It was intense. Yeah, we were all really red face. So we were like, "This is awesome."
Yeah. Would you guys switch places in real life if you could trade places for the day? I
With you? Yeah. Don't insult me.
We're all in here. I know. Oh, you know what? To get out of my math test, yes. That'd be awesome. No, I'm good. I'll stay.
Who would you switch who would you switch with? If you could switch with anybody for the day.
You know, honestly, my little brother. He just seems like he's got everything figured out, you know? He wakes up, like I drive him to school, he just chills in the car, puts on some music, you know, he goes on his run. He's on cross country, and he comes home and he just chills, you know? Not bad. Yeah, it seems like an awesome life.
What about you, Peyton?
This question I've been getting and I just keep saying Beyoncé because
That was my answer too.
That's your answer too. She's just so amazing. Like I would be honored. That'd be the best day of my life.
I have a game real quick for wrap it up, but um, I want you guys to take these arrows. Who is this the coolest arrows ever? Yes. I know, right? I just made them. Um, and you guys have to point to the person. So like, for instance, who's more competitive in real life? Point to the person. Nice. All right. Who is the bigger flirt? Mm. Oh.
I know. I think you are.
All right, so the better dancer.
I think I am. Oh. Oh. And I had a dance scene in the movie. Oh my gosh, I'm so nervous to see that.
Oh my gosh. You got to see that. I can't wait for that. Everyone please watch out for this. It's going to be the best.
I like I'm doing scenes I like block people like boxing. Oh my god, it's going to look so terrible.
And last but not least, who is the better selfie taker? Yeah, that was amazing. Thank you, guys. I feel like you're like down here like You're a fly selfie taker. I'm like
Exactly. This is my go-to like, away from me. See, this is how I know I'm not good. Something's wrong with.
Exactly. See, look, it's right here. Look, if I want to get in. If you take a selfie. All right. I didn't know there was camera right there. Hey.
Amazing. Watch out for the boxing. Watch out for the boxing.
