nothing nothing too crazy here. But this this is this how I make money. This is how a magician makes money cuz if I just take these bills, and you want to pick up your wand for a second? Here we go. We're going to do this together. On the count of three I want you to point your wand at the bills. Here we go. One, two, three, go. See, it'll actually look at this. It'll actually change. You guys see that check it out. So now we've got look at that. That's the that's now one, two, three, four, it's 500 right there. So that's that's that's how you make is the wand. Yeah. There it is.
YOUNG HOLLYWOOD! What is up? Today is a magical day. I got my wand, and today we have Mr. Collin's Key.
Yo, what's up guys?
Okay, so today I'm not Drew. I am Drew Dini, and we're about to find out as much as we can about Collins, who is the number one teen magician on YouTube and pretty much in the game. This is the Justin Bieber of all magicians. This is the Harry Wizard of them all. What up, Collins?
I'm good, bro. Thanks a lot for having me, bro. I like the magic wand. Is it is it functional?
Oh, of course. Look, and we'll both have red shoes. Look at that! Oh. Drops the wand. That's it.
Exactly. I can't I've got to leave guys. I can't compete with that.
You are the number one teen magician on YouTube. Yeah. Not just that, you got your fame really from America's Got Talent. That was your launch, right?
Yeah, absolutely. And actually it came about through YouTube. When I was 12, started doing magic, and then at 16 years old I started posting videos on YouTube of me just going to the park, going to the mall, doing magic tricks. And then after that, America's Got Talent, they didn't have enough magicians for this season, like, oh, let's look on YouTube. Found my videos, invited me to audition for the show, and then that's where it all kind of just took off from there. I was able to be the first magician to ever make it into the finals out of eight seasons on America's Got Talent. And it was the first time they'd ever done magic in like the the style that I wanted to do on America's Got Talent where I would actually go down to the judge's table, do magic for them. I was also able to do like social media integrated magic where there's stuff involving Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, YouTube, and just really branching out and expanding people's idea of what magic can be, pretty much.
Yes. I saw your audition. Your first, you know, the first time you came out in front of the world. You are like, I'm going to do a close-up. And all the judges are like, oh, you're not going to explode something or cut someone in half?
Yeah, exactly, yeah.
And they're like, oh, and they all slump. And then you like you go up, you go backstage, you're the first person to run off stage. You steal Nick Cannon's popcorn. He wasn't happy. And you come up front, and they're still like, ah well, I don't and like Howard Stern is like, I don't know. I don't know. Like they're giving you a hard time.
Yeah.
And you're just overcoming. Overcoming. You're like, I got this. I got this. And then, BAM! You wow them. And the whole audience stands up for a close-up magic trick.
Which that was the craziest because what they didn't have, like now when they're doing it, they they've re-formatted the way they do magic on the show completely to embrace that style. When I did it, there was like now they have a camera on the magic. They project it up on the iMac, so that like 800 people in the audience can also see what's going on. For mine they didn't have that. So I thought the audience was going to boo me off stage because you like the first three acts that came out before me all got booed off. One was like a little kid who was like a rapper, he literally got booed off stage. And I was like, this is I'm doing close-up magic, the audience is not going to see what's happening. They were like brutal. So, that's why I got so emotional like in that first audition cuz I literally thought I was going to get booed off stage and I thought like the judges were going to completely tear it to shreds, but Luckily they didn't. I love you too.
And then from there, you got to go on the AGT tour, right?
Exactly. Yeah, so that was 36 cities in six weeks. That was insane. We did nine shows in a row one time. That that was crazy. And then after that, what was insane is I got to then go on tour with Demi Lovato.
Oh yeah, the Neón Lights Tour. With that was oh my gosh. Makes me mad cuz I want to know how you do it. My ten keeps on trying but you tell me once. Maybe. If you guys don't know, 12,000 people a night, this kid got to perform in front of by opening for Demi. And not just that, he was pranking Demi when she was filming her music video. Yeah. And what made you so amazing is now magic has this mainstream like icon. You're like the Bieber of magic people.
Thank you.
You have these groupies after each show, city to city to city, waiting for you to come out.
Yeah, I know. It was pretty crazy. So and it was so much fun. There was Fifth Harmony, Cher Lloyd, and Little Mix on that tour as well. So I got to be the only guy on tour. So no complaints there, that's for sure. Um but it was so much fun to be able to do magic in these arenas where magic has literally never been done in those arenas for that audience in the history of magic. So that was so much fun to like re-imagine how magic could be done in a live environment and really make it about an experience as opposed to just like here's 200 people I'm going to saw a lady in half and really blow it up with social media and with Snapchat and all these different things. So yeah.
All of that, and you're still coming in on your social media following. Yep. You do these YouTube V-logs, you do the Snapchat, you're like a Snapchat wizard. We we got to face swap after this whole thing is done. That's that's for sure. I think you should be the first to invent the wand drop. Everyone does the mic drop, like, oh, I killed the game, let me drop the mic. You drop that wand. Let's do.
Actually wait, can I let's try this. I'll do a little bit of magic and then I'll try the wand drop. You want to do this? Let's say, okay, here. Bro. I'm ready. Let's see what I got on me. Um, I've got, okay. So don't I know you probably got some money. Don't judge me, okay? We're all on a budget here. So I've got let's see. Um you know like five bucks here. So we've got like one, two, three, four, five. So nothing nothing too crazy here. But this this is this is how I make money. This is how a magician makes money. Cuz if I just take these bills, and you want to pick up your wand for a second? Here we go. We're going to do this together. On the count of three I want you to point your wand at the bills. Here we go. One, two, three, go. See, it'll actually look at this. It'll actually change. You guys see that? Check it out. So now we've got, look at that. That's the that's now one, two, three, four, it's 500 right there. So that's that's that's how you make it's the one. Uh, there it is.
That was actually incredible.
Thank you.
Okay, so I watch your stuff on YouTube and I follow you like, there's got to be something here. That is legit. Guys, viewers at home, the dude is legit. Like that that like it's fun too cuz with the magic that I do the close-up stuff, like people watching that, you guys might think oh well that's a camera trick or like they cut the cameras or like he was in on it and like you you can confirm there there's no camera cuts, it's literally what you see is what you get. And like that's what that's what's so much fun about the magic. You have a girlfriend right now?
No. Single life.
You have everything a girl could ever want. Like how couldn't a girl want this guy? And so you showed me a little trick. I thought I could show you a little trick to help you land that lady.
Oh, okay. I need this.
This is compliment of my four-year-old niece. We have the magic pot here. You add a little magic dirt, you add a little magic seed, little magic water, blow on it, a little magic sun and Yeah, I think that'll that'll kill that'll yeah, this. Okay, do I have game or was it just cute? This was my four-year-old niece did it.
No, this is game. This is game, bro. You should I now yeah, we can we can do a duo act. I bestow the wand.
Thank you.
All right, cool. Here it is. This is this is going to be fire. You just like I'm going to I'm going to walk out there's like on stage in front of 15,000 people just be like, a little bit of dirt, a little bit of seeds, a little bit of water. Boom, flowers. And they're just going to go nuts. Like you just have 15,000 people running all over the place. I'll just be holding this up in the air just like, yeah, I did this act. And then finish it with the wand drop.
