Hello Molly, how's it going?

Well, your album Primary Colors is out now and it's on Spotify. I saw.

Yeah. That's right.

Tell me about the process of making this album. Do you have any highlights?

There's 10 songs on this album, but there was like 50 to 70 songs actually made, you know? Lots of work went into uh picking these songs specifically. And we had been touring, you know, so we made this album mainly on the road, in hotel rooms, playing backstage, on tour buses. So there's kind of uh the whole world is in this album.

And you're kind of touching on it, but I know you've all been very influenced by the Police and Bob Marley.

Yes.

But is there anything

Saturday morning, jumped out of bed and put on my best suit. Got in my car, raced like a jet all the way to you. Knocked on your door with heart in my hand. to ask you a question.

Is there anything specific about your sound that's surprised you as you guys have grown as a group that you're like, "Oh man!"

It's so yeah, like our our album has all the styles, I feel. It's really weird. When people ask us like, "What what is the genre of your album?" It's actually really hard to explain to be honest. I know we started with reggae with Rude being a very uh reggae sounding song, but we have a song called "I Need You" which really sounds like the Beatles. And then we have another song that sounds like Brazilian music, which is called "Have it All." So, I'm always surprised at how the four of us can just come up with We can do all the genres of music. We we should be a band in Vegas just covering all the bands. You know what I'm saying? Like

I got to find a way to take it up. I got a lot of love growing strong when I see you in your red dress on.

We're kind of digressing from the music here to get to know your personalities a bit. If you had to choose a spirit animal, who or what would it be?

Oh man. Wow. Let's do each one. For me

For you first.

For me I I I I think uh I am very I'm pretty free spirited myself. So, I would say uh a bird. Probably a bird, yeah. Just like a little hummingbird. And I'm out.

That's a cute spirit animal. It's a hummingbird.

There's a hummingbird. Actually, I like elephants. You you put that in there. They move slow. They hang out and bathe themselves. And they eat peanuts and they remember everything. Yeah. That's me.

Alex, do you have one?

I have a fetus in my backyard.

It's funny 'cause I think I was going to say a whale, which sounds really funny. But I like how peacefully they move. So I was thinking the same kind of thing, like a nice just something peaceful, nothing nothing hectic, you know what I mean?

I'm changing mine to sloth.

Humming sloth.

No. I'm not.

What do you think's been the coolest moment of your career as a group thus far?

Um, I'd probably say either either singing Rude in Times Square was kind of crazy in front of a million people.

I would say this moment right here. With you.

This moment right here. This moment.

I love it. Well, and I was saying earlier with Rude, it's like the one song that no matter when you hear it, you're singing it like at least the rest of the day, if not the rest of the week.

That's the idea.

That's what you want as a as a songwriter, obviously, to write a song that people can remember. And uh we're so fortunate that song really stuck and it actually became like a cultural phenomenon. Like people were making T-shirts and response videos where the dad, you know, the dad wrote a song about writing to the singer Nazreen. And it's just kind of funny. It kind of created this huge wave, which is really weird, but it's cool.

If your music could change one thing about the world, what would you want it to be?

I think it's already starting to do it, you know? It's starting to just people just it's just giving you like a moment of relaxation. And you know, because we fuse the reggae in a lot of our songs, it's just making people just forget a second. There's a lot of really dark things going on right now, but you don't have to live in that darkness. And good music allows you to escape it. And and I think a lot of our fans and people are like, "Man, your album just like gets me away for a second." And and that's the point. That's what we do. We're entertainers. We're here to entertain you for you to have fun and to enjoy our company, you know? And our and our musical gifts that we've been given.

And I knocked on your door with heart in my hand. To ask you a question. 'Cause I know that you're an old fashioned man. Yeah. Yeah. Can I have your daughter for the rest of my life? Say yes. Say yes. 'Cause I need to know. You said, "I'll never get your blessing till the day I die." Love you, my friend. But the answer is no.

Okay, so I have a game here. And I have a few quick questions.

What about who's the biggest flirt?

Cuz I'm a flirt.

We're all flirts.

Yeah, okay. But yeah, it's definitely that guy right there. You know what it is with the whole flirting thing? I just fall in love with everybody. Guys, girls, everybody's just like, I'm just like really happy to like that we're getting these opportunities. So it's like, and everybody's being so nice and so lovely. And it's like, and you're just like, "Are we friends now? We're friends." It's just happened. And so I I I guess I become a little flirtatious.

Who's the best dancer?

Nah, he's the best dancer.

I think I'm the only one who can actually.

Actually, you were dancing. You were dancing during the performance. I saw that.

Look at that. I actually danced. Um, I used to I was a ballroom dancer in high school. This is very weird stuff. And then I was So, like, one, two, three, four. Yeah. Like I could like do the waltz and like weird stuff like that. Um, because there was a girl that we were friends with and I and I liked her and she was like, "Do you want to come to this dance class with me on a Sunday?" And I'm like, "Absolutely." And I learned how to like salsa, rumba, waltz, tango, everything when I was a teenager. And the rest is history and now you're the best dancer.

The rest is history. And now I'm the best dancer out of people who cannot dance. This is fantastic. I'm really good.
