Guy on the left hasn't had much sleep. He has the glasses, something that rhymes with sleep. Treasy on the right strikers. I'm glad to be. That was amazing. That deserves a random applause. So, we're sitting here in the Young Hollywood studio and I am with the one and only Toby Turner.
There are multiple Toby Turners. I'll take all the credit. Another one is a bull rider who was famous until I overthrew him. And bought Tobyturner. com and I called it the best damn Toby Turner in the world, but I think that's anyone would have done that in that situation. Is that wait. Did I get to the third one? Did we get to the third one? Uh there are Toby Turners. I stopped looking after I saw another one. I was like, "This guy is like number one on the Google." I I over you know, I I'm the top Toby Turner right now.
Are there any other Toby Turners that are a threat right now? Like try. As you can see how it is. And how do you I don't think there can be any other Toby Turner in this world. Or can there be any other Toby Turners?
Humans have amazing potential for doing things they believe in. You can do anything.
I feel like there actually should be multiple of you, because I don't know how you do as much as you do. I mean, right? Yeah. I would love here's multiple. Is there something we all don't know? Is there I mean, what you do?
I have no friends. Uh my relationships have suffered even today. If you want to go on do but it's uh you know you have to it takes a lot of a lot of dedication and And uh I I kind of I I took on too much always. Uh just cuz I was like, "I can do that. I can figure it out." And I I got a book deal at the same time that I got, you know, a video game that, you know, I raised money for and then I didn't realize how much work that was going to be.
But first of all you you started on YouTube. Like you're a veteran. I mean, you were like on there before everybody else making videos.
Almost. When I started, I was like, "Oh it's too late."
Really?
Yeah. So like my feeling was like everyone's already got their following.
I mean, it's always going to feel like that. But then all of a sudden you were suddenly getting like
Yeah, it doesn't matter. Well, yeah. I have billions of views.
Yeah. Did you ever think it was going to get to that level?
Of course. But uh I think
Obviously, it's the boss.
No. No. Uh no, not at all. I I I I was hoping to make, you know, a video that was that was good enough that I would maybe get an acting role and thing. And then uh uh people were able to play video games and not get sued for for that. Like to talk over the video games and my play video games just make making jokes on top of it is so fun and uh I used to do it with my with my brother. We would just like, you know, talk obviously not recorded just hang out and just be funny.
So, how did that even so it just got started? You were playing and you were talking it through and then you're like, "We we should film this."
Well, like I I well, I mean, me and my brother when I was a kid before you could record it. Like we would just that's what we did. And I was like, "I want to just do that and record a video cuz I like and people were doing mostly uh you know, serious gaming stuff or uh teaching how to get through the hard parts or and I don't know any of that. I suck." But so I was like, "I'm just going to record it and just talk for a long time and post it uh on a good regular basis uh and eventually, you know, people that wanted to stick around and listen uh to me just ramble, uh those people grew and grew for, you know, a long time." And then I found this game. I mean, really, I started to play Minecraft. And I went up on on these tangents in Minecraft that I like it's just so therapeutic and peaceful and like I I would wake up, clear my head, go play Minecraft, build a little build a village. You know, whatever.
Like, do you feel like talking it through like makes you do better or was it more like You know what I mean? Cuz I feel like sometimes when you're playing you're like, "You can't talk to anyone." Like you want to be focused and like screaming at everyone.
No. I think okay, well, I mean the upside is like if there's a code that I'm trying to remember. I'm like, "1 2 7 4 1 2 7 4 1 2 7" and I just do it the whole time. People like, "That's funny." They said it 50 times, but I needed to. Uh but yeah I I don't think it makes me I mean I mean I think I can cover up and I actually admitted like in the middle of I'm like, "Okay, I've been going off on the story and it's taken a long time and now I don't have anything else to say. I'm just been trying to fill I'm trying to fill the space before I can find this whatever." And I I don't find it and then I you know, sometimes I end the episode and people get really frustrated.
And then there's there's a show that you've done called literal trailers.
Yes. People say Rome wasn't built in a day. Boom transition. The birds get the hell out of there.
So, how did you I mean, it's it's really hilarious. If you if you haven't I mean, I'm sure everyone has checked them out but if you haven't you should. Um, how did you even come up with that? Cuz then you started doing it for like actual games and brands and they were wanting you to make these commercials.
Uh, well, I I I like I saw this Clash of the Titans trailer. That was the first one I did. There was just so much stuff going on in the trailer that I'm like everything was completely different. Like you would see this different emotion, this explosion, this like dragon, like it's just different. I'm like, "It'd be funny to like explain what's happening just rapidly to the thing." And I posted it and I called it a trailer song. And then somebody said it was it was a lot like somebody had done a literal music video, which is the same same idea. Making a song up over top of a music video. And I was like, "Oh, just call it a literal trailer." So, I actually didn't I wasn't like literal, that's not my thing. But uh I changed it to literal after cuz there you know SEO.
I mean, you've done TV. You've done movies. You're like you said you you've done a book. I mean, is there anything you haven't done yet that you really want to do?
Uh, you know, um what's got to be? Love. I haven't I haven't found love. Whoever's out there watching. Uh, dude. I I freaking I'm looking for love. Uh, I don't know. I've I've went skydiving. You know it's kinda the first thing came to my mind. I went indoor skydiving so it's like not even
Oh, wait. Oh, so you didn't really
So I did real real one too. I did the fake one and the real one. It's you know, both of those.
How was that experience?
Uh, the fake one was like horrible cuz you know, super dry face. Super thing and you just get blown.
Yeah. Have you done it?
No, but I I've seen people do it and it actually looks really fun, but I'm not it's not
You don't like it.
It it is cool. It is cool, but the thing the thing was like it was I was so dry, but also the other thing is the instructors have this like special setting that they don't give to you. So, you see them like when you're you walk out, "This is awesome." They fly up instantly to the top and then they fall all the way down so fast. And then like when the people are going in that's like obviously that's dangerous. They like turn it down to lowest setting and
So, was that more scary than actual skydiving?
I mean, I felt pretty safe with actual skydiving cuz I was like connected to the groin of an older man. I don't know why people do that. Well, and also I put on my I put on my jumpsuit my whatever jumpsuits it is. My fall suit and it it had holes in it everywhere. And I'm like, "That's safe." He's just like
Uh, parachute did not deploy. As long as they know what they're doing, you just got to trust that they do.
Yeah, he's like, "Trust me." You're like, "Okay." I paid you.
Um, and then another thing is you have a game coming out called Acro Acro Wars.
Acro Wars. Yes. It is a game when
You were showing me before we started, we're gonna play it. But um, it's an it's an addicting game. It's going to be it's it's coming out soon. Hopefully, yeah.
It's uh I mean, you you join a room with five random people and uh or up to five and then you the first round you get three letters. You have to make up an acronym for those three letters like any any words that you think fit together as kind of a phrase. Uh and then round two is five letters. Round three is seven letters. Uh and you vote on which one's your favorite, which is going to be probably the funniest, which is probably usually going to be the most inappropriate.
Okay. So, are we are you are you ready for a challenge?
Yes, I'm ready for it.
Okay. So, D P G are our letters. Don't Don't Don't
Well, we can we tell each other what we're writing? No. I'm just trying to tell that people. Cuz then I'm gonna steal yours. So like, Party Dog. Dog. Dog party, great. Oh my god. I put double penis gonorrhea.
I mean, Can I tell you what okay. No, I'm just trying to tell that people. So like, My mine actually does make sense. You were That that's something you were. Because I Yeah. You were right. Cuz those words. I think you're supposed to actually make a sentence. That's a horrible example. But, you know. Well, that's what I'm saying. Yeah, mine didn't really make a lot of sense, but I can spell gonorrhea. That's pretty good.
Well, you'll definitely want to check out this game because it's it's addicting. So, okay. Lastly, let's let's go out with could you do a literal trailer of this interview of Young Hollywood. On our on our on our exit.
Guy on the left hasn't had much sleep. He has the glasses, something that rhymes with sleep. Treasy on the right strikers. I'm glad to be.
That was amazing. That deserves a random applause. Yeah. Sorry, I didn't hear what you said cuz I was singing. Well, thank you for coming in. Thank you. Come back and do some literal trailers all day long. I mean, I think we we'd enjoy that.
All right. I'll be here.
