I'm Oliver Trevino, on the Young Hollywood set, with this hilarious bunch, the impractical jokers. How did how did this all start? Because you guys have you you've been around, you're doing like you're staying, you're doing well, by the way.

Yeah, when I got the T V show, I mean this this cutthroat people just goodbye. Yeah. People still want us, but even at the time when we're overstaying our welcome, we figured five to ten years. After that. Okay. No, we met in high school in 1990.

Yeah. So you're in high school. You obviously all became friends.

Yeah, we're better like 13, 14 years old. Yeah, oh my god. And we went to high school together and we got back from college, we started the Tenderloins.

Why the name Tenderloins?

In high school, uh, Sal kept a list of, uh, words you'd be really embarrassed to say, or slightly embarrassed to say, in a public setting. Really in front of a group of people. Words like, uh, coolots, nougat, which is the inside of a sticker's bar. Gargoyle. And Tenderloins was one of the words on the list and that's how you know, we thought, hey, it's kind of embarrassing, let's stick with what we know.

Yeah. And then from then you just stuck together, done your touring and done your shows and then obviously.

Yeah, we started, uh, doing live improv shows in New York and then, uh, failed miserably for lots of years in a row. We tried a couple, uh, we did a couple pilots that never went to series and then finally we did Impractical Jokers and that really hit.

What are you drinking tonight?

Yeah. And stamp 'em. Stamp 'em. And stamp 'em. Stamp 'em like the international cargo.

How does that work? Like, how how in in this day and age, do you get away with it? I mean, we we're that's tough, right? I mean, especially in America.

Yeah, but you'd be surprised. I mean, we the show's mostly shot in New York City. Right. So it's just the per capita, I mean, if if 10 people know us, the next 100 people don't know us. So it's like, it impedes the like shooting a little bit, but not to the detriment of like the entire show. And a lot of times people recognize us when we're all together. So if there's just one guy out on the floor, they'll be like, oh, you look like right, him, but you're not him, but then when they see us together, they're like, oh, it's all you.

One of my favorite moments, which we spoke about, which is which is a great story as well, is the Imagine Dragons. When you went out with this huge band on stage and you've just gone out there. No one know that.

That was fun. That was the biggest punishment we ever did, right? There was 10,000 people there. 14,000. 14,000. The reason I know that is because I was on the stage looking at it. Yeah, sure. Right. Jones Beach.

And tell us how it happened, how this originally, because you mentioned Mac, obviously, the manager and stuff like this.

Yeah, we uh, we were shooting and a guy comes up to us and says, hey, Second guest: Yeah. Washington Square Park.

Yeah, in Washington Square Park in New York. And he says, hey, I'm a big fan and can I get a picture for my family? And we took a picture and he ended up giving us his card and he said, hey, I manage this band, Imagine Dragons and it was really before just before they before they really broke. And he's like, hey, if you ever want to, you know, do something. And we're like, okay. And we sat on it and then all of a sudden all the music sound like, when we know, Imagine Dragons and it just all hooked up that they were in New York. And They're wonderful. They befriended them, went to their concerts and hung out with them a bunch of times and then we were like, oh, we might be able to combine forces. And then they could not wait to get us there. They jumped in and it was great. It was a lot of fun. They were feeding us jokes. They they gave us the line that said have because they were playing fake, a fake band, of course. And they he said, uh, that he goes, make sure they call the band Imagination Dragons because and that was when you got the boos. But something else people don't know is that we did, we went on like third. So we weren't even the open act. So and they announced us as if we were the Imagine Dragons. So they're like, ladies and gentlemen, get out of your seats and everybody's expecting the Imagine Dragons to come out. And it's just me and Sal and like 80s rock. The other thing that happened was they didn't tell the head stage manager Yes. that, uh, that this was kind of happening and then they told him to go pull the plug on me. So he ran out to get us off the stage and I figured he knew. And so I fought back. I fought him. And he started grabbing my guitar and I yanked it from him and he's like, are you with me. And I'm like, just trying to like redeem myself. He's like, this guy's a really good actor. He's wasted. I found out in the end we were actually I was in a fight.

Where are you excited to go to, apart from England, where are you most?

We do in Nashville. We do the Wild West Comedy Festival, Vince Vaughn's Comedy Festival. And there's tons of other comics that we admire there. Like it's an honor for us to be on that bill. We did it last year. They invited us back. That's in April, so we're like, excited. We're doing another cross country, cross America bus tour this summer in August too. We start, you know, in up state New York and wound up 3,000 miles away two weeks later. Different cities.

And you're all on the same bus.

Yeah. 25 years of knowing each other. Yeah. There was there was one step where we saw each other for 47 days straight. Yeah. Yeah. It's great. I don't I honestly don't think this exists much. Almost like Stockholm Syndrome, because like in prison. When we get a break for each other like a week and then like I start getting antsy and I'm like, I wonder what the guys are up to. And then we start texting each other and then it's it's just Yeah, because we're all best friends. So it's like you want to go see a movie with your friends. This is who you're calling. Or you gotta go to work. This is who you're seeing. The other thing I was going to say is that's all right. We're gonna play a game.

Oh, awesome. Yeah. Practical or impractical. So basically I'm gonna I'm gonna say something you say whether it's practical or impractical. Give your views on. Clothes for your dog.

It's impractical. My wife tries to do it all the time. I just had to put the kibosh. I lost the raincoat battle, but besides that, that's a stupid idea. Second guest: I'm with you. Absolutely with you. It's stupid. They're animals. They're animals. As much as you want to be, it's a dog. Your pets if you put them out in nature, they would die immediately. In a minute. They're not meant to it's a for a say, it's not a tiger.

Yeah. He's got to be he's dog. Even the way you say it. Second guest: I know.

Right, next one. As seen on T V products. You think they work?

I mean, if if I mean, it's a really you're uh, you're rolling a dice, but there are some good ones which I think are practical. I would say for the most part impractical.

Fur coats in L A. You know, the people that are walking around with fur coats. Oh. And fashion's involved. Fur? No, is it just about the temperature? No, yeah, let's just do faux or fur. Just to look in general. Because it's hot there.

Well, when you live here, right? When we live here, we have a fur coat all the time. You did. When I lived here, yeah, yeah. Big raccoon coat. All the time.

So it was practical for you.

Yeah, I didn't have to wear anything underneath. I was just it was awesome. I was just

It is. People should tune in. Why to this season? Why why sell it? Sell it.

You know what it is? The uh, the show's still fun for us. We we made a pact when we first created the show that if it ever isn't fun or we ever feel like we're just doing the same things again and again, we're gonna stop doing it. And we're four years in, we're about to hit our 100th episode. And we're still on set and we just can't believe what we get to do for a living. It really is a dream come true. And we're having a blast and this season's gonna push it even further. It's actually more fun now. It is. And we really like push ourselves to keep reinventing the games and the things we do. And the show now is not it's not so much more a prank show anymore. It's a is just uh, friendship on display. Body comedy. Yeah. Brilliant. Yeah. We have a responsibility to our fans too. We have like a rabid Yeah. Very loyal fans. So we want to give them what they, you know, aside from our own creative like, you know, Right. We want to keep it fresh for us too, you know. Because comedy not fresh is no good.
