Nico & Vinz: That's right. I remember that. Right, right. As far as advice, I don't know, man. I maybe maybe Michael Jackson's Man in the Mirror, like, if you want to change something, you can't change the world by yourself, but you can change yourself, and by changing yourself, you might also change others. So Man in the Mirror is something I try to try to live by.

Your new EP called Cornerstone. Nico & Vinz: Cornerstone, yeah.

Talk to me about like, why'd you call it Cornerstone? Nico & Vinz: We just felt like, you know, we moved here to L. A. a year and a half ago. And we've grown so much, learned so much. And we feel like this new music we're coming out with now, and this album, or this EP, first of all, um can be a cornerstone in our career. With everything we know now, and everything we've learned, I feel like maybe just came up with the word Cornerstone, uh of of Nico and Vince's career.

And you said that like, you said that the the music is genre blind. Nico & Vinz: In this time that we're living in, you know, I feel like we're just going to represent this generation where it's, we don't really care as much about genres as we care about just having good songs to listen to them. Like we'll go to listen to this is Justin Bieber. And then we'll go listen to, you know, King of Leon. And then we go listen to, you know, Taylor Swift. And you know, it doesn't really matter. We just want the good songs. And so we focus on that on the album too, making it uh a diverse but still like, just good music, you know? Nico & Vinz: That's how you know. You messed up. Oh, yeah. That's how you know. That's how you know. You messed up. Oh, yeah, yeah. You've been here in America now for a year and a half. In Norway, where we're from, we've been a bit longer than that, but we feel like we haven't really gotten to express all we had yet, you know. We have so much more to give. Obviously, last year, we had a huge hit. Now, the new EP, Cornerstone is going to showcase us a bit different. But we feel like there's also a lot more to us that, you know, you can't do everything with one album or one project. So, it takes time to really reach your potential, but we feel like 10% is where we're at right now. You had it going for you. Moved out to California. Got lost in money, drugs, and women out for all your dollars. Now Nico's unemployed. Vince's love for destroyed. So now we back in Norway. That's how we know we messed up. I think it's different for people to see like two, you know, African Norwegian guys, you know, playing the music we play, and it's sort of bringing the type of positivity that we are bringing as well. So, you know, when we get on that stage, it's all about bringing that energy and make people feel like they're a part of the show. Connecting with the audience. You know, and then, and that's to us, also the fun part about performing, you know, just seeing, you know, catch one person that's really like putting their hands up and really singing along, and you just be like, I see you. And see the reaction they have from that, you know, it's it's it's, you know.

Yeah, because you guys point out people, you guys are literally will talk to the audience and grab. You know, I remember when we were kids, you know, going to shows and and concerts, whenever the artist saw you and pointed you out, and you were there seeing, it was the best feeling in the world. Nico & Vinz: Yeah, not even you. Like, somebody might be behind you maybe, you're like, yeah. As long as you thought it was you. It matters, you know. They are the Matrix coding. Now you're in your mama's basement. Got to spend every paycheck. The IRS, your new best friend. That's how you know you messed up.

You worked with with B. B. Rexha. She's amazing. We we've I I met B. B. and we've interviewed her. And Kid Ink, too, actually. How did that writing process go? Did who came up with like, this is a concept because people are always beeping up and messing up. Nico & Vinz: Man, it was a fun thing. We're just in the studio, making another song. And then, I don't know. We just started singing, you know, that's how you know. And, you know, we just started playing around with it. We started laughing, and just joking around. It was just like a joke.

Was she there in the studio? Nico & Vinz: No, she was not in the studio at that point. But then, you know, we were recording and I was like, this is kind of cool. And then we contacted B. B. Rexha and Kid Ink. And they just sent back their verses and it was just like incredible. You used to be the big spender. Grabbin' the check every dinner. Showing out to your girlfriend, best friends, just so they could wish they was with you.

So I I have a game. Okay. That has to do with that's how you know you beeped. Yeah. up. That's how you know you messed up. And I'm gonna ask you and I want you guys to tell me if if this is how you know you beeped up or not. If you messed up or not. Okay. Okay, cool. You're dating a girl. And then you add the the the girl's hot best friend on Facebook. Does that mean you beeped up? Nico & Vinz: No.

Why? Nico & Vinz: Not necessarily. I mean, no. You can still, you know, just trying to get to know the girl better. You got to know the friends, you know.

You start dating one of your fans. And they take it out on Twitter. Your fans get crazy on Twitter because you're dating one of your fans. Does that mean you messed up? Nico & Vinz: I think that's a bit weird. Especially if she's, yeah, if she's really like fangirling kind of way, and you date her, it's kind of messed up. You might spoil. Well, it it depends, though, cuz you might meet somebody that's like a really cool chick that's also a fan.

But why would you put it out there, though? Why would she like, you know what I'm saying? Nico & Vinz: Yeah, no, no Twitter. No Twitter. No Twitter.

You forget to go to the restroom right before you're about to perform. Nico & Vinz: This guy all the time. Me? I said the same about him. What you talking about? Yeah, all the time. Oh, yeah, yeah. Yeah, I'm always in the restroom before. You know, you got to be safe, man.
