I was kind of like oh you got to go above and beyond the Call of Duty. Right. On a Young Hollywood Studio joined by Jason Schwartzman and Adam Scott. How are you lads?

Good. How's it going?

It's uh my evening was uh was spent watching you guys last night. On the overnight. I watched it. Yeah.

I've watched it a lot.

It starts very strong and pretty much lets you know what you're in for.

So what first drew you to the project?

About I guess it was like two years ago Mark Duplass, producer, actor, director, extraordinaire sent this script to my wife Naomi and I saying, let's do this together. Uh you guys can produce, Adam, you can act in it. We'll find other people to do it. And we just kind of immediately fell in love with the script that Patrick Bryce had written. Right. And then kind of went from there and about a year later we were we were shooting.

It wasn't that stressful or

It was really fun. I mean, it was stressful here and there but nothing like I had imagined.

Every movie is stressful. Being the producer being the producer on it as well is even more.

Yeah. My wife was real like she produced the movie. She was also the first AD, the costume supervisor. She wore like 12 hats.

How was that Jason?

Delicious. The food was great. The food was really well found.

And Jason and I Jason and I ended up being the caterers. Yeah. We catered.

Love that.

So yeah, it was great. We you know, you all got you got to go above and beyond the Call of Duty. Right.

It's true.

And we're really great guys. So we'll jump in and help out.

I've always said that about you two. The best in fact. The best there is in the business.

Yeah. I don't want to say I don't want to say that.

It's funny though because you you see you get a script and it's like, yeah, we're gonna we're thinking about making this and you think there's like a 10% chance it'll ever happen. By the time like nine months later, we had a date to start shooting. I was kind of like, oh, I actually have to do all of this. He's gonna do it. Yeah. Um but I'm really glad we did because it was super fun.

Yeah, it's great chemistry with you guys.

Which I think you need to with a script like that.

Yeah, I think you need it. There's a lot of intimacy in the movie and um uh and we go to a lot of tender moments between us but I would say that the way we made the movie was, you know, we made it in 12 nights in Los Angeles.

12 nights, that's incredible.

Yeah. But now I judge time so differently like two weeks go by and I, I could have made another movie. Yeah, I just I just it was a it was amazingly fast.

Did I can't get I keep looking down there. I'm trying to look at you when you're talking, but I keep looking down there.

Yeah. The thing about not looking down, I found that to be a thing on the set where people in the beginning were trying definitely not to look down like that. Like making supreme eye contact with me. And I kept trying to say like, it's not this is not my body. Yeah, this is not my body. We are all here to enjoy this. Just because I'm wearing it doesn't mean that it's any more mine than it is yours. Everyone can share it. It's for everyone to see. And I want people to feel. Do you know what I'm saying like that it's for anyone to have like it's like it's like here's a bunch of coffee and some cups that I'm bringing for everyone. I'm gonna have the first cup but it's not my coffee. This is for all of us to drink. I brought this for everyone. Like the next day somebody could take it and wear it on their face.

Yeah, exactly. Exactly.

I feel like you've just given a strong like a commercial for prosthetics.

I think so. I think Yeah, I think this movie is a commercial for prosthetics and uh I didn't want to take it off. In fact, I liked wearing it even when it wasn't on camera. I just took it off.

Yeah. Yeah. I just took it off. Pry it off of his body.

Yeah. Try to get surreal with it. Right. Uh the best The best thing is most interviews I I somehow talk about and this is the only one that validates that.

You seem you seem uncomfortable. Because for the first time it actually validates.

You did. Thank you. Everyone can just know producers, it wasn't me this time. The warnings you gave me it's not my fault. An arc. Yes. There's a lot of movies like this. But they always seem to be the teens, not the adults, which is what's great. You know.

I think so essentially. When you're in a relationship you must always do the best you can to keep not only the relationship healthy, but yourself like interested and fascinated in things so that you can put it into the relationship and deposit into it so it can grow and these are two couples that realize that maybe they're more out of sync than they thought they were as as couples and you know, you have these experiences. I mean it's about parents too and about yeah about couples and I and they end about making you end about making new friends. So basically.

Yeah. People should be worried when the producers are going to do another party.

Yeah, right. You never know. You never know.

And there is a great twist at the end which I'm not going to talk about. But yeah, I wasn't expecting it at the end.
