Young Hollywood

I'm here with the beautiful Danna Paola. How is my pronunciation?

Danna Paola

Yeah, good, very good.

Young Hollywood

How do you say it?

Danna Paola

Danna Paola.

Young Hollywood

Like that. It sounds so much better when you say it with your accent. A little bit. But it's it's good. This is the first time at Young Hollywood. This is really exciting.

Danna Paola

Yeah, so I'm so excited.

Young Hollywood

We're so excited to have you here.

Danna Paola

Yes, thank you.

Young Hollywood

We want American audiences to know about you. I know you've been acting and singing since you were how old?

Danna Paola

Yes, since I have four years old.

Young Hollywood

Okay, how did you know you wanted to be a singer and actress when you were four? How did that happen?

Danna Paola

I don't know. I I have not much memory. Really? Yeah. But I I was uh on my house with my mom and I said to her that I want to sing and acting. My dad was singer in a group, so like a boy band in the eighties.

Young Hollywood

Your dad was a boy bander?

Danna Paola

Yeah.

Young Hollywood

So you got that from him.

Danna Paola

Yes, that the singing part. And the acting part, my mom uh has uh movie stars in Mexico. And they they have uh many person in the family who was doing movies in Mexico.

Young Hollywood

Oh, in the business.

Danna Paola

Yeah.

Young Hollywood

Do they give you advice? Like when you were growing up? Did they give you advice?

Danna Paola

Advice from acting and singing from my daddy. Yes. From both sides.

Young Hollywood

And you also have a single on YouTube 20 million views now?

Danna Paola

Yes. Yes. It was a really good opportunity for me to recording that song. We recorded in San Diego. So, it was amazing. I love that song.

Young Hollywood

You recorded in America.

Danna Paola

Yes. Um, and it was so nice meeting him. He's a really such a good guy.

Young Hollywood

Now that you're sort of breaking out into America and you're like a fresh artist here. What do you think like the biggest differences between like, like when you grew up, like your musical inspirations versus here? Is there a big difference in the in like the style of music from here and there? Like will your will your music now change and evolve as you move sort of more into the states, do you think?

Danna Paola

Yes, I I like to sing R&B. I love so much that. Uh since I have memory. I I I was looking for my style, for the things that I want to sing. And who could help me a lot for for for looking and for searching what I want to sing. Now I can sing defying gravity so easy and I can do raves and I can do some thing anything that I want.

Young Hollywood

Here in America, a lot of actors do Broadway and there's a lot of crossover. They actually give you a really hard time because you're this pop star and they sort of you sort of defied not gravity, but you defied the odds and people sort of said I don't know she can do it. Like who is she?

Danna Paola

Right. Right.

Young Hollywood

And then you went out there and then what happened? You broke records or

Danna Paola

Yes. We have 100,000 tickets uh in 12, in 12 weeks.

Young Hollywood

Sold in 12 weeks.

Danna Paola

Yes.

Young Hollywood

Which is a record.

Danna Paola

It's a record. We are so happy and so grateful with the people in Mexico and for the other countries come to see we get this Spanish.

Young Hollywood

And that's just based on your voice and your performance and what you did on your own.

Danna Paola

Yes.

Young Hollywood

So can we get a little taste? I'm putting you on the spot now.

Danna Paola

Oh, yes, of course. Maybe a little bit of flying gravity.

Young Hollywood

Is that your favorite? Okay, awesome.

Danna Paola

Yes. Okay.

Young Hollywood

It was a pleasure to hear from you. Yeah.

Danna Paola

Young Hollywood

Oh my gosh. Yes. Okay. And let's talk about food differences.

Danna Paola

Food.

Young Hollywood

Okay. Obviously, we know Mexican food, like it's different from American food. But is there anything like similar to America? Like something you can get there that you can get here?

Danna Paola

Well, it's so different. We you have uh tacos here and it's not nothing like the tacos in Mexico.

Young Hollywood

Really?

Danna Paola

Yeah, it's nothing like that, like we think we're eating Mexican food when we're not.

Young Hollywood

Yeah, but you're not, you're not. What about when you go to like Subway? Because they have it here and they have it there.

Danna Paola

Yes, I love Subway.

Young Hollywood

Oh, you do?

Danna Paola

Oh, yes.

Young Hollywood

So what do you get on it? Is it like a different sandwich there or is it the same? What do you like on your?

Danna Paola

Well, it's the same. Uh I like to put some uh guacamole.

Young Hollywood

And you put guacamole.

Danna Paola

Guacamole. Yes. It's so it's so delicious. Yeah. And they have a little uh serranos and chiles like um I don't know. It's it's called jalapeños. And they have uh

Young Hollywood

But it just sounds better when you say it.

Danna Paola

And chips with a lot of chile. I know I'm so chile.

Young Hollywood

So you get a little spicier there, you get a little spicier.

Danna Paola

Yes. I like more like vegetarian Subway, but with a little bit of that toqueno, like Mexican touch.

Young Hollywood

Are you into makeup? Because your makeup looks great now. Are you into you're obviously into the fashion makeup.

Danna Paola

Yes. Thank you. Well, someone helped me in the morning.

Young Hollywood

Right, yeah. But

Danna Paola

That's always good, right? But I always uh try to do my makeup.

Young Hollywood

What what would be because you have so many young girls that look up to you. A great like makeup tip.

Danna Paola

A makeup tip? I think it's not much makeup. I think uh the most natural thing is the best because it uh shows your your beauty and I think it's is the best tip I can to say.

Young Hollywood

I love it. Okay. What about fashion? What would you say like one fashion trend there that you want to bring here?

Danna Paola

Oh, we have really terrible fashion right now. I'm just kidding. No, I'm just kidding. You know Mexico has uh really, really good uh fashion. I I uh I met a lot of designers that they have an amazing talent. I I really I I can feel um how you can say um proud. Uh there's a lot of pride in the country. Yeah. And it's it's so nice because they have maybe uh many people have that that illusion of Mexican people are like charros with sombreros and and It's fantas.

Young Hollywood

No, that so with the goatee. So and you just got on the cover of Cosmo.

Danna Paola

Yes. In Mexico.

Young Hollywood

It's so weird to see your I mean, obviously, you're a big star there and you've been a star since you were a little girl. But is it is it strange when you actually see yourself in the cover. It was an amazing cover. I think uh when I did the photoshoot in November, they told me that that I look older in in the pictures without the hair and the makeup and you look, you're so sexy and so natural and it's it's great. It's a sexy magazine.

Danna Paola

Yes. And I was uh a little afraid of that because I'm so shy. And um it was great. I think that the result uh is amazing. I love the cover.

Young Hollywood

So what would be like a fun night for you with your friends?

Danna Paola

A fun night? At my house. Uh maybe uh movies and pizza and that's my night. I think. It's so silly, but but I love it.

Young Hollywood

Mexican style pizza.

Danna Paola

Mexican with some nachos with chili and.

Young Hollywood

I want to come to your house. It sounds fun.

Danna Paola

Oh, yes, you can. You can.

Young Hollywood

All right. Well, Young Hollywood is going to Mexico City. Announcement. This has been a pleasure. Thank you so much.

Danna Paola

Young Hollywood

We can't wait to see more of you here.
