Young Hollywood

Okay, here we go. What's up, Cameron?

Cameron

gonna kill myself.

Young Hollywood

So, I just saw on your Twitter that you said you were gonna go off the grid. What's that about? Is are you are you channeling the film?

Cameron

I don't know, no, no, this was super late last night and I was just like Over it. I was just, I just, I don't know why. I just, it doesn't, I'm not a, I'm honestly, I'm not really a big fan of, of Twitter or anything. I the one I actually do like is Instagram cuz there's like some like actual creativity involved. Twitter, I just feel like no one needs to know my thought processes throughout the day and like, I don't wanna, I just thought about deleting it and just like fresh slate, like not have to worry about it for the summer or whatever.

Young Hollywood

Do you get the James Franco comparison cuz you remind me so much of him.

Cameron

I do. I do. I have gotten that, yeah.

Young Hollywood

Do you? And I've read that you actually are a fan of his, like that's not something you just.

Cameron

I Yeah, yeah, I know. He's uh, he I think he's a really cool guy. Never never met him, but he seems like a really cool guy. And yeah, yeah, I have, I have gotten that before.

Young Hollywood

So let's talk about the film. So the Kings of Summer. It is such an adorable. It's, it's got sort of everything. It's got drama, it's got comedy, it's got sort of everything, but the message that I took away is that you can never bring a girl into the equation cause she'll just mess things up. They screw everything up. Don't they? So, so she comes in and basically you're these three guys that have built a house in the woods. You've run away from home. Nobody knows where you are. Everything's like Utopia until she shows up.

Cameron

It's true. Yeah, paradise lost. Once once Kelly shows up, she just screws it all.

Young Hollywood

She really did, didn't she? I'm sure it wasn't like that onset though. If she showed up, I'm sure it was lovely.

Cameron

She was in a boy's club though. Like she was just surrounded by guys the whole time, so I always felt a little bad for her. I don't know.

Joe

Hello.

Patrick

Hi.

Kelly

Hi.

Patrick

Tools out of the driveway now.

Joe

What?

Patrick

Hello?

Joe

No.

Patrick

Who's this?

Joe

Patrick?

Kelly

Kelly.

Joe

Kelly, a girl. That's a pleasant surprise.

Patrick

Dad.

Joe

Listen, Kelly, Joe can't talk right now cuz he's grounded. He will call you back sometime before his hot new bedtime of 7:30. You have a good night.

Cameron

Well, Moises was in here and he, he can do like the best deer in headlights I've ever seen in my life. Yeah, I know. I wish I could imitate it, but I just wouldn't do it justice. Like he killed it. And knowing him, like his actual personality is polar opposite to to Biaggio. So that was the funniest part for me was seeing him when they called action, he would go straight into his Biaggio skit thing. It killed me every time. It's like like two weeks for me to actually like get my shit together and like not crack up.

Young Hollywood

I did see something about you. I know you went to New York recently and you did Letterman. First you graduated from high school. Congratulations.

Cameron

Thank you. Thank you.

Young Hollywood

With honors, I'm assuming?

Cameron

Uh, I did not get the little rope with the little gold rope. There's like for like with distinction, but um, I didn't fail any classes. I did well. I did, I I got through it.

Young Hollywood

You pass. So which was more fun, Letterman or graduating?

Cameron

Uh, that's a tough call. I don't know, it's a tough call, but I I kinda want to say graduating cuz that's like a, that's like four years of my life that's come to a conclusion. Whereas Letterman is like He's always there. He's, yeah, he's Letterman.

Young Hollywood

But really, was it, was it nerve-wracking cuz he'll, he'll go for it. He will.

Cameron

No, I I grew up watching him with my parents and if he doesn't like you or if he like just for whatever reason is just on a on a roll, he'll um, He'll annihilate you. Yeah, he'll destroy you. So I was trying to be on my best behavior and not get on his bad side, but he was, he was, he was great.

Young Hollywood

So we have a game for you. It's called Going Off the Grid with Nick Robinson. Wow. It's sort of like if what happened in the film, if it happened in real life, if you were going to go off the grid for a month and we're going to sort of set you up, okay? So first of all, you're building your own house anywhere in the world. Where's where is it going to be?

Cameron

Anywhere in the world? Maybe uh, like on the coast in in Washington State.

Young Hollywood

Nice.

Cameron

Yeah, Or the San Juan's. Yeah, I'm from Seattle.

Young Hollywood

Okay. The San Juan's, I'm going with that. So for a month, like in the film, you'll have to hunt for your own food and do all that kind of stuff. But you get one free pass meal, either somebody's cooking for you or any restaurant. What's your one meal?

Cameron

Uh, Roscoe's.

Young Hollywood

Are you getting the chicken and waffles?

Cameron

Yes, of course. I mean that's the house of chicken and waffle. Really?

Young Hollywood

Yeah. I love it. That fills you up for like a week. You just keep eating it. Okay, if you could bring one film with you to watch on a continuous loop, what would it be? I know you're a film buff.

Cameron

That's really difficult. That's a tough one. That's really tough. Uh, The Big Lebowski. I've seen it like 20 times, but it just, it's one of those that just I'd never get tired of.

Young Hollywood

What would be the worst? Finding bear tracks outside the house, having a snake encounter, or having a spider infestation in the house because I heard that you do not like spiders.

Cameron

Yeah, I'm going to have to go spiders on that one.

Young Hollywood

Really? You'd prefer a bear over spiders?

Cameron

Yeah. Yeah, I mean, because bear, it depends what kind of bear though, cuz if it's a black bear, they're actually very docile animals. You can just kinda scare 'em off. But if it's a grizzly, you may be screwed.

Young Hollywood

Okay, would you rather have an unlimited supply of food or water?

Cameron

I'm going to, I'm going to have to go with food cuz you can survive, I mean, sorry, the water. Water, because you can survive like weeks without food, but you can only survive three days without water.

Young Hollywood

Okay, and last but not least, if you could only have one of the two, internet access for 30 minutes a day or phone access for 30 minutes a day, what would you choose?

Cameron

It's a tough call. Am I trying to be like rescued or anything? Or is this just

Young Hollywood

No, you're going off the grid.

Cameron

Okay, yeah, I'm off the grid. Well, if I'm off the grid, then I'd rather commit and just screw yeah yeah yeah yeah.

Young Hollywood

Well, what was the worst in the film when you were shooting? Was it the skinning the rabbit scene? Was it the snake scene or was it not getting the girl?

Cameron

It's tough. It's it's tied between not getting the girl and rabbit scene. Those are I'm going to have to go with rabbit. That was it was pretty gross. Yeah. Yeah.

Young Hollywood

And you'd get the girl in real life.

Cameron

Uh, maybe, we'll see.
