Hey, it's Laura Marano and you're watching Young Hollywood.

Young Hollywood

What? I'm excited. It's gonna be cool. Yay! What? Hey!

Laura Marano

I know you have to, right?

Young Hollywood

Blue. Blue. Eyeshadow. You look adorable. That's all I'm gonna say. Stop. So coordinated. It's the sleeves, I think that really gets me. Okay, so where did it so because of the blue eyeshadow, the blue nails. You can't see but she has a flower on her show. Yes. And it's blue and white, so it's like what coordination. Where did it start with the dress?

Laura Marano

Yes. So it started with the dress and then I'm also gonna wear more blue today, 'cause I'm going to a premiere where I thought you had to wear blue. Because it's the Monsters University premiere. Okay. Um, and like they're blue and white, right? I'm just having a blue day.

Young Hollywood

You're having a blue day. And a happy way. Not like a sad blue. Like it's hard. I can't imagine you ever being sad. You are the girl that is known for the most energy. It's true. You are known Another thing I noticed on your Twitter, you're obsessed with puns.

Laura Marano

I um, no, I love puns, like it's ridiculous. Like

Young Hollywood

You're the only person I've ever met that is obsessed with puns.

Laura Marano

No, they're the best. One of my favorites is um, oxygen and potassium went on a date and it went OK. Um, 'cause it's like you the periodic table. You gotta know your science to know these things. Oh no, but then when oxygen and magnesium went on a date, it was like OMG. So good, right? It's literally.

Young Hollywood

That's fantastic.

Laura Marano

Thank you.

Young Hollywood

We're in the Young Hollywood studio on a Monday morning. Let's talk about Austin and Ally. You finally season two, end of season two, you're coming out of your shell. You're having your solo and you wrote your own song called Finally Me for for uh an episode.

Laura Marano

I'm so excited that they're using it. Yeah, I co-wrote the song with uh Ben Charles, Matt Tishler and it's called Finally Me and it's just about, you know, Ally finally becoming herself. Hence the title. Like really becoming confident, really becoming secure. And it's It was so fun to write.

Young Hollywood

So like you in real life, right?

Laura Marano

It was, I know, right? So shy.

Young Hollywood

So shy. And the romance is finally blossoming between the two of you, but moving forward into season three. It's kind of ambiguous now.

Laura Marano

It bloomed and then it died. It withered.

Young Hollywood

And then it withered, not like your flowers.

Laura Marano

Not like, yeah, not like the flowers. So see, but but the potential is still there. Yes. Um, but I think it's just it's hard for both of them because they have so many different relationships going on. They are they're really good friends. They're a singer-songwriter and, you know, and so they don't want to ruin either of those two things because of the real, you know, the romantic relationship. But what's also kind of getting thrown into the mix is now that Ally's really becoming, you know, she's stepping into her own and she's got over her stage fright and she's really gonna start focusing on her career as a singer, you know, Austin as, you know, the singer for Ally songwriter, he's not that happy about it, but Austin as Ally's friend is like really happy about it. So we have to kind of like deal with that.

Young Hollywood

So we have a game for you.

Laura Marano

I'm excited.

Young Hollywood

I know on the Disney website they did with you with a lot of the cast, five favorite things and they gave you different topics. Yes. Yours was fruit.

Laura Marano

Because I love fruit. Yes. And it was like a rapid fire. Which is very stressful, by the way.

Young Hollywood

So we're gonna put you under a little bit of stress.

Laura Marano

Yeah, perfect.

Young Hollywood

I'm gonna give you a rapid fire. Okay. But your five favorites. Okay. Are you ready?

Laura Marano

Okay. I can do this.

Young Hollywood

First of all, five people you wanna meet or work with.

Laura Marano

Kay, George Clooney. One. Wow. Yeah. Hate him. Paul McCartney. Done. Um, uh, la la la. Meryl Streep. Awesome. Love. Emma Stone. Also equally love. Um, ooh, fifth one. This is there's so many people. Uh, JK. Oh my god. JK Rowling like I would I would faint. Yes. JK Rowling, JK Rowling, JK Rowling, JK Rowling. Like, I know I only have to do five, but

Young Hollywood

So you're setting your standards really low cuz none of these people have had any sort of success or any sort of notoriety at all. No. Okay, that was fantastic. Okay, five favorite words.

Laura Marano

Um, yay. Uh, whoop, whoop. I don't know if that's a word. Sure it is. Um, awesome. Rock. Not like the um the thing. Yeah, the the actual like, ah, you rock, the compliment. Um, uh, okay, and um, I was gonna say eat food, but I like to do that on a regular basis. So not just on the weekend. Um, I guess Just maybe more on the weekend. I guess maybe more. Um, and read.

Young Hollywood

There you go. She did it. Fantastic. Okay. And then last but not least, five must-have fashion or beauty items right now.

Laura Marano

Okay. I'm a really big Proactiv fan. Like I just think cleaning your face, that's nice. So definitely go for that one. Bam. Colored mascara. 100% obsessed. Um, I have some awesome MAC lipstick, which I'm obsessed with. I'm really obsessed with like colored shorts. Like and it's in the summer right now. So, you know, I usually like colored skinny jeans, but it's the summer. You should wear shorts, right? Right. Um, and then always been a big, always will be a big wedge heel fan. So wedges. Get that get that height going, right? Get that. I'm short. I'm 5'2" on a good day. So

Young Hollywood

We put you under a lot of pressure. I think you did fantastic with that.

Laura Marano

Thank you. Thank you.

Young Hollywood

You could be on like one of those shows where it's just like, you know, you just have to like spew, like you have like a minute to just talk.

Laura Marano

I know. I would do.

Young Hollywood

You'd be perfect for it.

Laura Marano

I would just continually talk. I would walk like talk fast a minute. It'd be a problem.

Young Hollywood

So are you on your summer vacation right now? I know you're gonna start shooting season three of Austin & Ally.

Laura Marano

Yes, I finished school like late May. So

Young Hollywood

And you actually go to school. Like unlike a lot of actors that are on a show full-time, you actually go to school.

Laura Marano

Yes. Yes. And it's a lot of work, but I have so much fun doing it. I feel really lucky I can do it. So

Young Hollywood

You don't do the like, how do you manage that? I mean, that has to be so difficult.

Laura Marano

Well, basically like first semester, because I'll be shooting, I'm like not at school, but I'm doing the work. So, you know, we do school on set and so I luckily have my computer, like our school gives us computers. So that's cool. And I like talk to my teachers all the time over email. I'm always like, hey, what's up? Just finished Pride and Prejudice. Uh, taking that test soon. Hey. In the first season, I actually had to take finals on set, which um, literally was the most stressful experience of my life, cuz we were also filming like the season one finale. So we had like a lot of stuff going on there.

Young Hollywood

Of course. Of course.

Laura Marano

And so and it was like my math final on the day where we had to do it. Um, it was pretty much the most stressful day of my life, but it's cool. It passed. It's fine.

Young Hollywood

You're amazing. Oh my gosh. Thank you for coming in. So much fun.

Laura Marano

I had so much fun.

Young Hollywood

Come back again. New color. New theme, new color. What will it be next time?

Laura Marano

You'll have to see.
