Hey guys, this is Allie Wiseman outside of the Tribeca Film Festival, where we're about to talk to actress Alice Eve about how she went from being out of your league to sci-fi's go-to gal.

So, Alice Eve, such a good name. Is that your given name or is this a stage name?

No, it's my given name. It means that all the boys in my family have a girl's last name. Yes. But it's my given name.

What are your brother's names?

Jack and George.

What's up, Jack and George? So, for your new movie, Velvet Morning, what kind of research did you have to do to get in touch with this role?

I kind of keep reading the script. I read the script over a period of a year a lot and spoke with Neil because it's a Neil Labute film, and spoke with Neil about it extensively.

You work alongside Stanley Tucci, one of my favorites. Tucci's just got something, right?

He's very funny. I guess it's Yeah, he has charisma, Stanley. Yeah. Massive charisma.

And now previously, you have starred in She's Out of Your League. One of my favorite movies.

Oh, that's very kind of you.

Yeah, no, of course. So, what does a movie with a title like that do for your dating life?

Um I wonder what it does for your dating life. We should ask that girl in it because it must be awful. I I don't know. It's um obviously not true, as Jay Baruchel told me on a daily basis. Um so that was helpful.

You've kind of transitioned also from this romantic comedy lead to the go-to sci-fi gal. You've got Men in Black 3 and Star Trek. So, how did you make that switch into becoming the sci-fi gal, do you think?

Maybe when you come and look at these things from the outside, you categorize them. But from the inside, you just go for a role. So, when you read a script, you think, oh, she's great. I'd love to play her. And then it ends up being in a sci-fi movie because they package it like that. But in every film you do, it's just you, the other actor, and the director and, you know, the camera that are sort of making the movie. So I feel very lucky to be part of a sci-fi world, to be honest.

What do you think these casting directors see in you to be this tough girl?

I have two brothers. Jack and George.

What's up? Bringing it back.

Yeah, bringing it back. right simple that. Yeah. Maybe because they were abusive relentlessly. Um, I became tough on the inside.

So we have to thank them today?

Yeah, we do. Thank you, Jack and George. Yes. Exactly. such a bum.

Now, I read that you have two different color eyes. Can I inspect them? A little bluer, a little greener. That's what they say.

Yeah, I it's true.

So, um, Kate Bosworth apparently has the same situation. Have you guys talked about this, bonded over this?

When we see each other, we just wink. And we do a knowing wink that uh the other eye is the same color.

When's the last time that happened?

That I winked at Kate Bosworth? Yeah. I don't know. We better set it up. I need to start winking at Kate some more.
