Snoop Dogg Inspires Young Athletes in "Coach Snoop”

Hey guys, Audrey Cleo here for Young Hollywood. You know Snoop Dogg as a rapper and producer, but did you know he's also a youth football coach?

And he's unveiling Coach Snoop on an innovative new platform. We at Young Hollywood knew back in the day that you were a great coach. What made you want to share it with everybody else?

It's time. You know, we've been doing it without cameras involved and just doing it just to showcase the love that we have for the kids but now I feel like people need to understand the dynamics of what I do and how I do it and how I'm so in love with these kids and why I do it every year.

You know I've been out, been to his games, you know, support the league, have donated to the league. So I think it's great that he's giving kids just really a chance to do something.

You're gonna see a side of Snoop Dogg that you've never seen before. I didn't realize how involved he was. I mean he's involved in the point where he's sitting down with kids talking about their grades, and talking about their home life. He is a legitimate youth football coach. He eats, sleeps and drinks the game. I think the game of football to him is as much in his blood as hip-hop. He really believes in the opportunity and putting his faith in these kids and giving them a sense of identity through the game. You know, at a time when like most people outside of their neighborhoods aren't willing to do so.

What's something that we would be surprised to find out about your dad as a coach? Second guest: How passionate he is about these kids. He really, really cares about these kids, you know. And it really shows how great of a person he is to spend the time he spend with these kids and, you know, talk to him, mentor him. He's got sons. You know what I mean? So, you know, he wants them to do something. It's so important to get these kids involved in something like football because it builds so much character for the future.

What he says on the series is this is his true calling. He looks at music as kind of a means to an end, but this is actually the legacy he wants to leave society. That is Snoop that we never knew.

Um, obviously premiering on the go 90 app, a really innovative new way to consume content. Is this the future of of TV?

I think so. People are just going to consume content. Maybe it's on your phone when you're taking the subway, maybe it's on your computer late at night, and that's what attracted us to AOL.

What made go 90 the right platform to release this project on?

They were the ones who really was excited about it. You know, I want to be with people that want to be with me. That really want to make things happen in a, you know, beautiful fashion and get the kids to have to shine, and they really was able to do that. So we went with them.

You've been in this game for a while now, um, you know, being on television. Does it blow your mind the way that people are consuming TV nowadays?

Yeah, the whole binge watching phenomenon.

Yeah, what do you binge watch?

I'm not telling.

What? Why?

That tells too much about your character.

I've binge watched everything. Every show you can imagine, I'm all caught up on.

Breaking Bad.

Breaking Bad, Scandal. Oh, wow. Uh, How to Get Away with Murder. I mean, you name it, I watched it.

And we know we can binge watch Coach Snoop. What else do you binge watch?

Uh, Peaky Blinders on Netflix.
