You got your start here in Miami. Years and years and years ago in radio.

In radio in 1957 and then television in 1959. I always did both. But it was a great place to break in for me. They had a lot of young people or older people. There was no union, low pay, but you had a chance to experiment. And it gave me opportunities to tweet my talent. So, what I'm doing now on the internet or when I was worldwide on CNN, there's no different than when I was in a little radio station. I was still sitting with a person asking questions. So what I do is still the same thing I've always done.

Well, it's changed though, because now celebrities tweet, there's social media, there's internet.

No. My part of the technology hasn't changed. When the camera goes on, I'm still asking questions.

Now, do you find though that people you're interviewing are more open than they used to be because of that, because people are more open and want more about their life to go.

I guess so, but I I was always pretty good at opening up people.

How so what's the key? From host to host. What's give me a great tip?

Listening, sincerity, eye focus, eye contact. I noticed. Short questions. Make sure there's a question mark at the end, not a statement. Use why a lot. Why'd you do that? Why'd you do this? What made that happen? And staying involved. And I you could never teach anyone how to work. I never worked prepared. I like to write off the top. That's where I started. I started in the restaurant here.

Well, what was your first job before you were on radio, before you were on TV? Your very first job.

Oh, I was delivering groceries.

Really?

I worked for United Postal Service. I had a bunch of jobs. I never went to college.

Were you good at any of them? Really good at any of them?

No. Really? Always wanted to be on the air. I haven't worked in 55 years. My work was delivering the United Postal Service truck. So you love what you do. This ain't work.

So 50,000, more than 50,000 interviews later. Who stands out?

Too many.

And now on Aura TV, you're online. How what's sort of like the biggest change for you about going online? Are you can you have more fun? Can you be a little more?

Well, it's more relaxed. Yeah. You can be more risky, but I I never I always took risks. I never I never said to myself is this a good question or what will they think of this question? I asked it. I never was afraid to ask a question. I didn't have a halter. I trusted my instinct. I do the same thing now. It's no different. What I'm doing now, the setting is more casual and I'm not doing instant news, which I miss. I'm not on top of things. It's a different kind of atmosphere. But the basics, the basics are the same.

Do you have fears? What are your fears?

I don't have a fear. I don't have bodyguards. My wife is my bodyguard. Come here.

Uh-oh. It's probably 20 after two. But it don't matter cuz this this is just Yuri. See, I've never seen her do this. It doesn't need to work when it looks like that. No, no.

Did you have a moment that you said to yourself, I've made it? I've made it. Good question. It's exciting.

Probably when I uh when I got a a Peabody Award for my national radio talk show. And Peabody's are like Pulitzer to broadcasters. And uh no radio talk show had ever gotten one. So when they called to tell me you're getting a Peabody, and that you're the first radio talk show to ever get one. I kind of said Nice for the good. And now when I walk, we have a trophy room at home with that features highlights of our life and awards. When I go into that trophy room, I sometimes wonder who had all that happen to him. And I sometimes look at my surroundings and pinch myself. Really? Because I'm still basically the kid from Brooklyn. I left Brooklyn, but Brooklyn never left me. So if I was in Brooklyn, could I have imagined this? Or two little boys, or Beverly Hills, or being known around the world? Come on. You got to be kidding.
