I missed the cast going there to have tea with she and the President.
You are kidding me.
I'm an idiot.
Hey guys, Baruch here with Young Hollywood. Before they were A-list stars, Jennifer Garner and Ty Burrell had some pretty entertaining odd jobs. Forest firefighter anybody? So how would you rate yourselves, Jennifer and Ty, as on camera spouses?
We won.
Yeah. I am the best on camera spouse Ty's ever had. No, I'm kidding. I just had so much fun. I, you know, Jen has this incredible reputation for being such a good person and it proves to be not surprisingly true. And, uh, yeah, it was just incredibly fun. And then also the dynamics obviously and the writing about him being so sort of henpecked and her playing some somebody so different from who she is. I that was actually that was just hilarious and fun to play.
And Jen, I've read that you actually grew up in a very conservative family. You said maybe one step away from Amish. That that was joking. But yeah. Did that help you get into this kind of conservative role?
Um my family was conservative in that we weren't allowed to perm our hair. We didn't have layers in our hair, um or our ears pierced kind of the way I am now. And we were we were just good girls. But conservative in an ideological kind of way, we did not go as far as um as this character. At all.
Ty, before you exploded with Modern Family, you were at one point considering leaving acting. And you have a bunch of different odd jobs, including forest firefighter.
Well, that's way back. 19 years old, I bet. Yeah, I was 19 when I was doing that poorly. At that time I hadn't worked in a little while, and it was just auditions, which that's the real the grind of an actor. It's not going like when people talk about 15 hour days or something, that's great. It's great to have 15 hour days to be employed. The grind is is going out and being told no, you know, six times a week.
15 times a day, yeah.
How about you, Jennifer? Did you have also a slew of odd jobs? Can you beat firefighter?
Um, gosh. I cleaned houses. I was the wardrobe girl for um a play that I did in South Florida. I worked in in a I did a musical in a strip mall in South Florida. Um, I did I had an ice cream company. I babysat.
Like to see that. Whoa. Wait, wait a second.
That was when I was little. Yeah, exactly. Yeah. That's hilarious. I'm still ice cream door to door.
I've got to ask you, how does it feel to know that First Lady Michelle Obama will be te-viewing your upcoming season?
It's incredible. I I actually missed, I had to be in New York for something, and I missed the the cast going there to have tea with she and the President.
You are kidding me.
I'm an idiot. Oh, God. Because don't tell the talking about this anymore. It's too much. Don't talk about it anymore.
