We are celebrating clearly. You are in like a celebration mode for Radio Disney.
Celebration. Yeah, all the time. Radio Disney, Happy Birthday. Literally everyone who's performing and all of us hosts like, we're all friends and like in day-to-day life anyway. So it's cool when we can all get together and do these things and it literally is a party on the stage.
What's cool about the show is it's very unique. It has, you know, the whole laid-back, low-key vibe to it. It's very homey. So it's like all of, you know, me and my friends hanging out at home and just putting on a fun little birthday bash. I think it's a very warm, fun environment that we've kind of set. It's it's not like a regular show, you know, it's really like a show that's kind of everyone's sitting in their living room, kind of chilling, relaxing and then we have fam vlog in and our side and it's just fun. It's really sweet. It's fun. It's for the family, it's for the kids and um, I think that's what makes it kind of different and cool. All my friends here isn't there? Uh Fifth Harmony is gonna be here off fine. I mean, we are really cool. So it's it's it's a great show.
And you're like in party mode for Radio Disney's birthday.
My too, too and my my party shoes.
It's a time where we're very fortunate to have such amazing creatives and to see it all lay out in front of us and and let it be a part of our culture and our lives.
And then like music wise, who are you loving right now?
Um, music wise, I mean, I listen to a little bit a little bit of everything, you know, I'm not. Music is one of those things that like you have to just be if you're a music artist, it's really important to listen to everything, you know what I mean, and really important to like kind of be in tune with, you know, the mainstream stuff, the stuff coming up, the stuff coming out, you know, so, I'm really into that. I am very influenced by lots of tropical um growing up with it in my household, being Dominican. Um, like I love that music by the way. It always just like makes me want to like go on a vacation somewhere and just like. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Just dance mode. And enjoy life. Um and I love that. I I grew up with it. It's in my blood. So I've I've been listening to people like Juan Luis Guerra and and Fernando Vilana, Marc Anthony. Um, but also I I love R&B growing up and being born in New York. So Brian McKnight, Maxwell, um, all the all that low-key stuff that most kids my age don't listen to form a part of my musical ear and then of course like forrel and our contemporaries like Nick Jonas and Beyonce, who's the queen.
And then you toured with Selena and she's like, you've said that she's like a mentor to you, right?
She's definitely someone I look up to. Um, she She's one of those people like you watch on stage and even with like when she gets off stage she's like, oh I messed up so bad. I'm like, what are you talking about? Like no one could tell you ever mess up. So um, she's taught me a lot with that and Um, she's definitely she's definitely been there.
You have your new song, Smile? R5: Yeah. Yeah, we're really excited about the smile song because it's one song that we've all felt equally very excited about.
I heard you're also doing a Sleeping Beauty play here.
Yeah. Yeah. I'll be doing uh yeah, it's so much fun. I I started out doing theater. So it's gonna be kind of cool, you know, to bring back my theater roots and be up on stage again. Um, doing it at the Pasadena Playhouse, the Tale of Sleeping Beauty in her Winter Night. I I play Sleeping Beauty, which is gonna be amazing. I've always wanted to play a princess and I'm getting the opportunity to.
And your song, Heartbreaker, I heard around the room.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. It is amazing. Oh, thank you so much. Out on iTunes right now and the video is out. It's crazy. And I'll be performing it tonight as well.
And you are like doing everything. I mean, you're a singer, you're into fashion, like you know, what's sort of like your next thing that your fans can look forward to?
Well, um, speaking of Radio Disney, I'm actually having my own Radio Disney show, The Ally Simpson Show. Yeah, so that's what I'm working right now and I'm excited to you know be hosting this and then that beginning. It's it's very very exciting.
And fashion, I have to talk about fashion because you're like, I mean, you're pretty much a style icon at this point. So how do you keep it up though? Like you have wigs, you have like crazy different looks all the time.
My me and my stylist, Law, we just kind of have fun. We're not really, I'm not afraid of anything. I don't really care what like other people necessarily say or think about what I wear. If I like it, I like it. I'm gonna wear it. So I just have fun. Like I think fashion is definitely not something to be afraid of something to play with and enjoy and experiment with.
What I'm really liking people that know how to be chic and keep it simple, you know, and be comfortable. I I love that. Um I think it's really cool. Um when younger girls know how to you know stay Stay yourself and have your own individual. You know, and and not do too much but still look nice, you know, look elegant, keep it classy. Um I love that. So that's what I'm really into. I love like oversized things. Um like flannel.
Oversized things are the best though. They really are. They really are. They really are. Um obviously you can tell by my pants, they're huge. Um but uh yeah, I just I like that kind of uh baggy urban look.
Super into fashion. I mean, growing up, you know, I wasn't really like I I just didn't know. Like I wasn't in the know of how amazing fashion was and now that I'm getting older, I'm starting to get, you know, more into fashion and um my style is uh very like it's a it could be very low-key. So like very Bohemian type, but then when you know, I'm out and I'm doing things, it's a little more like girly chic.
Yeah. Check it out. Check it out. Check it out. Dude, this is this is style right here.
