Hey guys, Nikki Novak here for Young Hollywood in Hollywood. It is premiere night. It is Big Hero 6 time.
Are you ready?
No. Okay. Young Hollywood make you nervous?
No, it does not. Let's do it.
He's so ready. You're the big star of the night.
Um, yeah, a star. A star amongst many others.
He's humble. And he's humble. I like that.
A star amongst many others. I try.
Um, how does it First of all, like, I mean, it's an incredible carpet. You've got like the bridge and everything. How does this is it exciting? Is it?
It's surreal. And it's it I think that's the word you're going to get out of every other cast member, 'cause that's the word we've been using.
So this film takes place in a place called San Fransokyo, which I guess is a cross between San Francisco and Tokyo. So I'm asking you to morph your two favorite cities into like the best one city.
New Yorattle.
New York Seattle?
Yeah. I wouldn't meld New York and LA. What would you what would you? Come on to travel back and forth between New York. Can they just put them together? They're just brutal on us. Yeah, can we just come up with some type of game plan? Like either we're going to do the entertainment in New York, or we're going to do it in LA, or Toronto. If you want to do that, that's fine. From Toronto. Ah, telepathic.
I'd like to pair Denver with Denver. And I would call it Den verver. 'Cause Denver's the best city.
Um, I grew up in Tokyo. Uh, every holiday I went to San Francisco. Both of those worlds combined. There we go. I grew up watching Disney. I grew up reading Marvel. Both of those worlds combined. You could build the perfect city.
Two favorite cities. What would it be?
San Fran, Yoki, Toky Yokie.
San Fransokyo.
It's okay. It's okay. Let's say it together. San San Fran Fransokyo. There we go.
The evil character in this movie can read minds. If you could read anybody's mind, who would it be?
Um. If I can read anybody's mind. Oprah. Just cuz I want to see Cuz she never walks She's like never gets pissed off. I want to see like what she's saying about somebody that's like that pisses her off. Right. Wouldn't you love to know what she's really cuz you know that I got enough money to break this person's legs. And get away with it. But I'm not gonna do it cuz I'm Oprah.
If you could read anybody's mind, T. J. , besides mine, who would it be?
If I had telekinetic powers, and telepathic powers. Fancy name on it. I would, I know. I would uh, I would just I would want to I would want to be able to lift up like your hair so that your ears could get some air. And then yeah, if I couldn't read your mind, I would read everybody's mind and what they thought about you.
Are you saying that I'm wearing a lot of hair extensions, T. J.?
No, but I am. I don't know if you've noticed. This hair. You think this hair comes without extension, sister? You're wrong. You're wrong.
So Subway is one of the sponsors of Big Hero 6. If you're making a big hero sandwich, what are you putting on it?
I'm the most boring sandwich maker in the whole world. Every time I go to Subway, the people kinda look at me like, uh anything, like, what else do you want in your sandwich? Because all I get is the Italian bread, toasted with uh turkey, lettuce, and mayo. And they're always like, what about cheese? And I'm like, no, sorry, like I just I'm the most boring sandwich maker ever.
What's your big hero sandwich?
I always get the BLT. I don't get any I get the BLT, Chipotle Southwest sauce, and the banana peppers. I get that every single. Thumbs up. I'm getting thumbs up from people behind the camera. Do they know how to make a sandwich? Oh, I do. And toasted, of course, toasted.
I like the tuna sandwich, and I like it with oil and vinegar, and pepper, and banana peppers, and jalapeños. God, you know what? I could go on and on. Basically I tell them, give me everything. And then when they reach for the onions, I say, uh uh uh.
So one of their messages is about empowerment. What makes you feel empowered?
People for the most part. Just people every day who just get up and get through their day when they're really like having a rough time with their life. Just anyone, even people that I haven't met. And just I just think about how many people get up every morning and live their lives and they are inside just like really feeling down, but they still manage to get up and get out and go to work and, you know, do whatever they need to do. And like that's just inspires me.
What is something you put your mind to and you accomplish that you didn't maybe think you could in the beginning?
Finishing this film. No. You know, the wonderful thing about working on a film like this is that you have such an amazing team, so I never had a doubt that we would finish it, and I never had a doubt that it would be really good. Um, you know, if you put your mind to anything you can do it. And that I think that's a great message for kids.
Recently, one of the big things I've done that's made me feel empowered is when you actually nail a dance on Dancing with the Stars and don't screw it up. You feel empowered. For that like 10 minutes until they vote you off.
Wow, I don't know if you make any sense, but you know, having a having a beautiful, structured family, kids that you know, respect respect my wife and I and uh in general the world, that makes me feel empowered.
I'm very similar to Hero in the sense that when we set our mind to something, we have to get it done. I get very tunnel vision. Um, if I have to do homework or if I have to uh, I don't know, take out the trash, that's all I can focus on at that moment. Like I can't worry about anything else.
You're good at pumping people up. Can you pump me up for the rest of the carpet? Like empower me, like get me like ready for the carpet. What was that?
You're already ready. You don't need to get empowered. See? He does reverse psychology.
Twitter, I feel powerful or empowered. I feel powerful when I'm on Twitter, yes. Follow you, T. J.
I can influence the minds of others. I can't read them, but I can influence them. Uh, no. I mean, Twitter is amazing cuz I can tell 200,000 people something and I don't tell them you should do this or vote for this or that, but I do talk to them about, you know, death and heavy subjects, and then fill their day with absurdities and giraffe facts.
My creativity empowers me. Being able to to write, being able to come up with uh things that I feel like people haven't come up with before empowers me.
I know there's like action figures, but here you are, here you are. Is there a trading card?
Yes. Have you not seen it? Guys, I'm gonna cry right now. Okay.
Have your own trading card. Trading card. I have a gift for you. Does anybody else bring you gifts of your own action?
No way. Figure on the I haven't seen this. Oh my gosh. Libby, look at this. This is Libby. We work together. And this is the first time I've ever seen this. Will you sign it? You really want my signature? You want to hold this for your paw? Yes.
Hey, this is T. J. Miller for Young Hollywood. Let me ask you a couple questions. What's the youngest part of Hollywood?
Me.
And what's the most Hollywood part about being young?
You.
Hey, there it is. Big Hero 6, guys. See you in theaters.
Did you know that you had your own card?
No, but I knew I had my own toy. I got it. I bought it. It's in my house. Wow.
They just didn't give it to you to buy?
I'm not bragging. Just saying I wanted to buy it. They would have gave it to me. Yeah. Right, Disney? Wait, this is yours or mine? No, this is thanks to Subway. You can thank Subway. Thank you, Subway. No promo. No promo, Subway. Thanks, but no thanks. You know what I'm saying?
