Yes, you just want to think of, visualize pushing it forward.
Oh my, that was amazing.
What's up, guys? Audrey Cleo here for Young Hollywood in Downtown LA at the Target and Star Wars Galactic Experience. Four domes, 17,000 square feet of Star Wars Nerdvana. The Force is very much with me today. So what's it take to be a Target Star Wars Galactic Experience Stormtrooper?
It takes a firm dedication to our Lord and Master, Vader.
What about for you? He's the strong, silent type. I have found some Star Wars celebrities, Princess Leia and Luke Skywalker. And, and have you been practicing using the Force?
I practice all the time.
How about you? Let me see your, can you use the Force? Show us how you're practicing using the Force. Nicely done, Samuel. Don't go to the Dark Side. Not yet, at least. Oh, wait, do you guys hear that? I think it's time for a Stormtrooper dance party. I don't know, are you guys ready? Or I could just dance and just be on my own. I'm just gonna moonwalk out of here, then. I'm here with Steve Sand Sweet, and we are inside the Galactic History Collection. Now, Steve, you have graciously shared a portion of your huge Rancho Obi-Wan collection.
A very small, probably 1/5th of 1/10th of 1%. We have 350,000 items.
When did you start collecting this stuff?
I think the very first Star Wars item I collected was six, seven months before the movie opened.
What's the most expensive item in here, do you think?
Oh, um, I mean, that's really hard to say. There's a lot of fan-made items that are one-of-a-kind that are based on iconic Darth Vader helmets or Stormtrooper helmets, and they're art, and so they would be at an auction for art. This C-3PO in back of us is double gold plated, so originally, back in 1995, it sold for $20,000.
Steve, thank you so much for sharing this. Can't wait to check it all out.
Thank you.
I am inside the Use the Force Dome with the rest of these Jedi in training, and we're going to be using cutting-edge technology that reads our brainwaves to get to BB-8. What are we doing today?
We're actually using Emotiv Insights to be able to control droids with the power of your mind.
Wow. So what's our goal here?
The goal is to be able to get to the center and have the fastest time, and then we'll have a leaderboard populating with the fastest, uh, strongest mind.
How long did it take to develop this?
Uh, the technology's been around for over a decade now. Insight just recently got released, and it's our latest headset.
It's the closest thing to using the Force, or is the Force?
It's the closest thing to using the Force right now, yeah.
All right, about to suit up and use the Force and get to BB-8. It's just my size, you guys. Oh! This is like a snug, I want to take this home. I am suited up. I am ready to use the Force, and you are actually going to show me how to do that, right?
I'm gonna show you the best of my abilities. To control the ball, if you picture just like a Jedi, you can either move the ball down or forward, but it depends on your focus. You know, I have a, a Jedi bag of tricks.
Bag of tricks. So, so, you know. Is it a Prada bag of tricks? Is it a nice bag?
It is, yes, it's a Prada rip-off bag of tricks, but, you know.
All right, I think I'm ready. I think I'm ready. All right. So this is how you use the Force. I see it in your eyes. You have the Eye of the Tiger. I'm concentrating really hard. Visualize pushing it forward. That's it, at all. Now I want to do you. Oh! Oh my. Woo! You've got to, Jedi. I. First try. Use the Force. Wow! Now if I can just do that to make everybody get out of my way during traffic. Does that, does that work? Tiger, thank you so much. Sergio, thank you so much. I'm with Eric, who on the back of his jumpsuit, it says he's a Tie Fighter Pilot, which sounds like the most awesome job in the world.
Well, that's the night job. The day job I'm a Lego Master Builder, and we're building a, well not a life-size, but a giant version of the first order Tie Fighter from, uh, episode 7.
How many pieces is it gonna take to build this thing?
We brought over 100,000 bricks, and we're gonna actually build two Tie Fighters, two large scale ones. Uh, they'll be six feet tall when we're done.
Okay, well I'm going to get my hands on some of these things and help you guys out, okay?
Yes. So you need three to start.
Okay.
These guys can probably help you better than I can.
Oh, really? Master builders in training, huh? Put it right on top there. Like this?
Yep.
What part of the Tie Fighter are we actually building? This looks like it's gonna be part of the wing. You can't fly without the wings, so this is crucial. You got it. No, no, right there. You did it. I think I did it. Yes. It's called teamwork. He did it all by himself. Well. Way to make me feel bad. I did this almost all by myself. I don't want any help from Chopper. I did not. Will he help me? He can help me? That's amazing. That's what astromechs do. They build Tie, uh, Tie Fighters. Thanks, Chopper. I'm here with Mike, who's an origami master folder, who's gonna show me how to make my own origami Princess Leia. This is very exciting.
So the trick here, you start out, you're gonna get this, uh, you know, custom printed piece of paper with Leia's face on it. And the goal it's gonna end up with a Princess Leia with the characteristic buns from, uh, the first Star Wars movie. So you'll do, uh, one fold.
Now, did you actually get your degree in that?
Yes, I did. And you've got her hair.
Thanks so much, Mike.
You're welcome.
All this using the Force stuff, it is tiring. I don't know about you, Chewie, but I'm ready to take a nap. Oh wait, I think I see a tauntaun carcass.
