Where were you last night?
I was at home. I didn't do it. I Sarah, I didn't do it. Please, just call Sarah. She'll tell you.
Oliver Trevena here with Young Hollywood. Fortunately, I'm not in Miami police station. I'm on the set of the hit show Rosewood about to get a behind-the-scenes tour with the cast. Come on, follow me. We're on set of Rosewood.
We are on the set of Rosewood. Yes. This is your this is your This is upstairs in the lab. This is this's not, you know, they say on TV where this is where the magic happens. A little bit of magic happens here. We have a lot of neat-looking things, a lot of computer screens, savable things and gadgets. I'm gonna I'm gonna drain my brain there. I think that's what it is. Follicles. And that was me in a former life, right behind you there. I think it looks more like me. My physical shape. I'm obviously, I'm not hitting the gym hard enough. Welcome to Magic City Lab. This is it. Follow me. We're going to start with a happy place. Yes, this is where the magic happens. As you can see over here, we have a dummy. It is a dummy. It looks real. I come in here and uh check up on him. Yeah, he's not vegan. He likes meat. And then you have these screams. I mean, this is like the high-tech. It looks kind of like a menu board at a fast-food restaurant.
Oh, yes, that does look like a piece of lasagna. This is the um the famous steps that I always walk down to check up on Rosie. Obviously playing a, you know, playing a doctor. Um what's been a great thing that you've learned from the character to bring into your real life?
It's interesting because I was in the gym the other day. These guys were having this conversation with me, and then they said some of these medical terms that normally would just be like a foreign language to me. They were talking about something specific and I was like, I understood what they were saying. So, so some of the things I do understand and it's just looking at things from a different perspective when it comes to health and and when I go into the doctor's office for my checkups. So, I am about to take you to East Miami PD. This is my spot. Okay. East Miami PD. As you can see, the rest of Miami from this view. My dad's a real homicide detective in the Bronx, New York. Yeah. I brought him here. He said, "Woah, this is like the four seasons of precinct in the Bronx." So, basically, they don't look like this in New York. Over here is my desk. We put a lot of uh pieces to the puzzle here. We talk about the cases here.
What else? You've not been working too hard, though, because every page is blank.
Every page is blank. This is Captain Hornstock's office. A lot of stuff happens in here as well. Captain Hornstock. He's showing off his trophies. Oh, yeah. Yeah.
I should have brought you some butter cake from Astro's.
Oh, I love the butter cake from Astro's. Yeah, well, you know, it's it's um I have a little bit of a sweet tooth and I
It doesn't show.
Well, I work out, so I mean, I definitely go to the gym after I eat. You got your coffee station and the donuts. They love it. Every policeman's dream. This is the box. That's one thing my father taught me, how and when to turn it on in the box. We're going to do some interrogating. Okay. You right here. Where were you last night?
I was at home.
What time did you get home?
I got home around 8:30 p. m.
And so is that why you cut Sarah's throat?
I'm scared. I didn't. Why Sarah? Sarah. I didn't do anything to Sarah. Yes, you I can't do this. I can't do this. This is horrible. This is horrible. I couldn't focus myself. Look at his face. It's just like, I I He's innocent.
Rosewood obviously doing amazing stuff on screen. We've been very fortunate. We've been having a good run thus far. We just want to keep going for like another uh eight years.
Eight years.
Eight years. I was going to say nine, so eight is fine.
Well, I'll take nine, too.
I'll take nine, yeah. Definitely. Let's do nine. Let's do nine. I absolutely love my character. She's everything that I wanted to play. She's tough, she's sexy, she's smart. Obviously, I can't complain that I get to work with Morris Chestnut every day. He's a good-looking guy. I mean, I I just I can't concentrate sometimes. No, I'm just I really honestly, he's like a big brother to me. We have a blast. We
You prank him as well, right?
We do prank each other. We He gets sleepy at around 6:30. I sleep here, actually. I don't even go home. I don't even go home. I just sleep here. And when I time I I catch him sleeping, I try to take a picture, then he tries to get me back. Right. We sort of like have a have a war with that. The holding cell. You can make your one phone call here.
A whole lot of role-playing on this set. Oh, yeah. You know, that's why I carry the cuffs. And then there that's where uh that's where the criminals stay. Yeah. And you're quite feisty as well. You've got a nice few fight scenes in there.
I do. Yes.
You do your own stunts.
Yes. I prefer to do my own stunts, however, that got me in trouble one time. I was fighting this 200-pound guy. I had open-toed shoes on. He steps on my foot. I kid you not, it was so painful, but my adrenaline was so high that I didn't feel it. Two hours later, I'm at the emergency room. The entire toenail did fall off. It took four months for me to for it to grow back and for me to feel comfortable to have my toes exposed. It was not pretty. There's a potty in there. No toilet paper. I didn't do it. Sarah, I didn't do it. Please, just call Sarah. She'll tell you.
You shouldn't have killed Sarah.
I didn't do it. I'm free. No. No murders happening on the set. I'm free.
Well, that's a good feeling. Right? You're free. Um, is there been a personal favorite episode of yours?
Wow, you know, all of them have been very fun. They've been learning experiences and I think we're just growing and growing each episode. The season happens so fast and we're shooting, you know, minimum 12 hours a day, every day. And so, I think once the season's over with, I'll go back home and I'll look at each episode. But as a favorite right now, it's kind of hard to say. I I love different things about each other.
Do you go to your dad for advice on on Rosewood?
Absolutely. He's been on the job for 22 years. So, basically, call him up, channel him. Job is done.
You guys have some great uh guest stars on the show. Yes. Yes. Um if you could have anyone, anyone from anywhere in the world, and they could be dead or alive. It's tougher than that. Wow. Wow. Anyone guest star on the show.
I would say Jack Klugman. Okay. He's the original Quincy. Columbo. I would like Columbo to come on the show because he's always, you know, discovering things. He's about to walk out, walk out the room. He's like, "Oh, wait a minute." So, just come those two. Those two would be great for the show.
I love that. He's smashing things.
I'm smashing. What's my lab? It's my lab. It's my lab. I can I can break anything I want in this lab.
It's his lab. We're just in it. We're just in it. He's getting violent. I mean, means we should wrap this up. Thank you for taking a tour of East Miami PD with us. I didn't get arrested. No.
You didn't. I'm not being sent back to England. You're allowed to stay. Yeah. You're staying in Miami. I'm staying. Thank you. Miami. The sun loves me. That was a lie.
