Hey guys, Baruch here with Young Hollywood chatting on the set of Royal Pains with Reshma Shetty and Brooke D'Orsay.
Hey guys, Baruch here on set with Brooke D'Orsay. Brooke, how are you doing?
I'm very good.
We were just talking about your French background.
Yes.
And your French pronunciacion.
Oui.
Oui, monsieur. That's all I remember from French school.
Comment ça va? Ça va bien. Oh. There's something else. Okay, keep going.
Uh, but that's all I got.
Okay. Baruch, here on set with Reshma Shetty. How are you, Reshma?
I'm well. How are you doing?
I'm doing well. You look very nice today.
Well, good. Well, thank you.
Do you always get to wear such fun outfits on Royal Pains?
I do. We have an amazing, talented beyond costume-r, Caroline Duncan, and she puts me, I'm in Helmet Lang at the moment.
Oh, so this is fancy fashion.
Oh, this is fancy fashion.
Speaking of fashion, you just got married.
A year ago, yeah.
Yeah. Congratulations.
Thank you.
Now you had a traditional Indian wedding.
I did. I did. Yeah. Which is a whole operation. It was pretty intense. It was like three days of fun and family flying in and tradition and, you know, symbolism and it was very, it was very meaningful.
And the fashions at an Indian wedding from what I've seen are incredible.
Yes. They're, they're very intense. Colors and jewelry and definitely event that I will always remember. But, but definitely one that's different than what your character will experience.
Very different. Yes. Yes, it's a very different experience.
Your character is about to get married.
Yes.
And your real life character is also about to get married.
Yes.
Congratulations.
Thank you.
Have you chosen a dress yet?
No. Okay, hold on. Let's back up. I do have a dress before I was even engaged. My friends and I were at Blooming, in Bloomingdale's. She was picking out a dress for, um, just a party she was going to. My friend's like, it would be so hilarious, why don't you just go try on some white dresses as we're waiting? So I did. There was one dress that was so simple and awesome. And then I ended up buying it. It's in my closet, but it's not the dress I'm going to wear. But I had it because I thought, what if this ends up being a dress that I can't get out of my mind?
You bought a wedding dress.
So I bought a wedding dress before I was even engaged. But I don't know if I'm going to wear it. Does this make sense? You're not supposed to.
Yeah, does it does it does it make sense? Some of your cast mates, Mark, Paulo, have actually directed episodes. Do you think you'll ever want to get into the director's chair?
I don't think so. I think I'd be more interested in the production side of it. The sitting around and telling people what to do. I'm not as interested in the technical aspect. I don't know, but you know what? Never say never. I do like to tell people what to do. So, possibly.
Really?
I do.
Noted. Yeah. So you are now a series regular.
I am. Yeah, I am. So exciting.
Has that is that like kind of being part of the club now?
I am part of the club. Yeah. I am officially part of this club. Yeah, I came, I think, two years ago. And I gotta tell you, every time I see those opening credits, I'm like, ah!
What is the Royal Pains club actually like? What's the camaraderie like?
It's honestly like you see on screen. Everyone is very much who they are on screen. Like, have you met Mark?
Not yet.
Okay, he's the coolest, most loving, generous, open guy you'll ever meet in your life. And then Paulo is this hilarious guy who makes everyone laugh all day long. And obviously, we're playing characters, but they're like inner soul is the same. As they as they really are. Yeah, they're great people. And and so I go to work with my friends.
I heard that Mark has been known to rap from time to time.
He's a very good rapper. That's actually the first thing I met him rapping. I I that's like how we bonded was through his rap. 'Cause I rap? I don't rap, but I I'm so impressed by his rap that we were fast friends. 'Cause I just
You were raptured by his rap.
I really was. Yeah. Mark's rapping. Yes. Mark is a rapper. Uh, I think it was uh, the first rap that he got us involved in, and we did the second rap. If you want YouTube, he's got a season two rap that I was so into and so impressed by, um, that he was like, I was his number number one fan. Still am. Season two, gonna spew mad medical terminology on me greeny with the pranam, take a lesson in cardiology. Tachycardic, to, hypopertensive, hypothermic, endoplasmic reticulum. He probably meant endodermic. Does he have any idea what he's talking about? Not a clue. Cervical disc disease, or spinal stenosis. You're gonna come to me for the best diagnosis. Um, we haven't done a third rap. There has been no rapping as of late.
Do you think maybe he's going to go for a different musical feel this time?
I I no. I kind of think he's a rapper. That's what he needs to do in his life when he's not here.
Do you ever do Royal Pains karaoke?
I'm so bad at karaoke.
Why?
I I spent like $250 an hour on singing lessons, and I'm still the worst singer you could ever imagine.
Well, how many hours did you do? This is what you spent.
I know, but you feel like the more the more money you spend like the better you should be, right? And it's it's really really unfortunate.
Thank God you can act then.
Thank God. I know. Can you imagine? I know this would not it would not go well for me.
Brooke D'Orsay, thank you very much.
Thank you. Here we go.
