Hey, guys, Audrey here for Young Hollywood. And as you can tell, I'm inside Judge Harris's chambers, on the set of Amazon's Hand of God. And we are getting an exclusive behind the scenes look with none other than Julian Morris. Here with friend of Young Hollywood. You guys know who this guy is. Hello. Welcome to the Hand of God set. We are in Pernell's quarters. So he is a judge on the show and this is his office. Ron Perlman. He's in the house. Yes, in we're in your house actually, because this is the the Judge's Chambers. Pernell's Chambers.

This is my favorite job I've ever had because there's nothing uninteresting about it and there's nothing generic about it and there's nothing you've ever seen. It's a fascinating world that Ben Watkins has created. Thrilling to to portray.

So, I always love this about when you're on a stage. You'll go from from, you know, a set, which you know, is itself a contained room. And then suddenly it opens up to to this. This is super cool. These are all the power suits. This is called uh Video Village. This is Ben Watkins, the creator, that you care about. Ah! That's a big one. This is his this is his script. So everything and all his notes about what's happening to my character. Oh my God! I bet I really want it. We won't touch it. We'll leave that. And then this, yeah, this is my favorite location. So, the church Hand of God, it's where my character Paul and my girlfriend Alicia reside. Alicia, this season, she is better connected to her faith than her religion, but she's much more grounded in reality. She's not taking it from anybody.

Like last season, it was kind of like, "I'm going to follow you around like a little puppy," and you know, "You were the God of my idolatry" kind of thing and and this season it's like, "No, no, no. We're in this together. We're partners." And I think Paul has recognized that and and leans on you now and recognizes you as the partner that that you are.

The guy who I'm playing has always been a heathen. He's the sinner in town. He's he's, you know, he's got the biggest appetites, the most money, zero relationship with anything spiritual until God grabs him and starts shaking him and making him realize how small he is in the big cosmos. So that's the dilemma of of Judge Harris. Oh, hey, look who's chair this. This is my chair. You can warm it up for me. You can warm it up. It's pretty cool, right?

Well, Julian, uh you get to ask all the burning questions you want to know of your castmate here. So have at it.

You know, when you when you think about sort of playing KD, how do you what's your process?

With KD, this whole underbite thing just came about because it makes my voice lower.

Yeah. Have you kissed anyone with the underbite yet? Can I?

Tessie, how was that? Tessie gives me to do kissing lessons on the show. So clever. Wow! Yeah. Yeah. Is it too much? Yeah. A little bit. Okay. So, we're in the Hand of God Chapel.

This is the Hand of God Chapel. Yes. We love dubs.

Yeah. Yeah. I remember this from the last season. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I need like a secret spot that you like around the chapel. You can't hide it. You can't hide anywhere. There is someone taking a nap over there. Checked out. This is great. But yeah, up here, this is where, you know, I've done a bunch of my my preaching. Okay. Is it nice because then your lines are right there.

Yes, that's another thing. I don't think it's in this book. Although I'm going to check.

One of the themes is faith versus reason. So I want to know if being on this show has made you more of a person of faith or or lean more towards logic and reason.

You know, I I I am an agnostic. I have an incredibly well-articulated relationship with a supreme being who I believe is is is all in everything and everywhere at all times. So, I'm an incredibly spiritual person who believes that at some point things happen in your life that are not a result of anything you did or didn't do. They are in someone else's hands. Yeah. And that's the basis of of faith.

No, actually this is actually really good. Okay, cool. Okay. Wicked. Wicked. I love seeing this cuz this, you know, to me, this is magical. Gives you a whole new perspective. Literally. Yeah, you know, slick, I live for this. Like this to me is like the magic of filmmaking and all these people coming together to make something. I think that's really cool. Very cool.

What's your takeaway from doing Hand of God?

The world that he's exploring, the way he's exploring it. The challenge that it's providing for me and every other lead character in the show. Artists just respond to that. You know, when you have to dig down deep and sometimes go to uncomfortable places, we yearn for that kind of a challenge. It's just an ensemble of of artists and actors that there's no divas. There's no it's just a bunch of of of happy workers who when the camera is not rolling are as fun-filled and degenerate as you can possibly imagine. But when it's rolling, boy, you better bring your A-game because everybody everybody's functioning at an incredibly sophisticated level.

True. I'm sure so often like in interviews, cast are are kind of putting on these airs about how much they love the people they work with. We genuinely love each other. You know, I just think that that adds to the value of the show because you can see it on camera that we're a cast who care about this thing we're creating together. And it also makes you want to do your best work. Like you come in and join the work that you're doing, you you look forward to coming to set and you want to do your best work. I just adore our co-star Garret. He's such a wonderful and funny person and he will make the darkest kind of scenes or scenarios very light. Although you know I did love this season was you get physical with me. That's right. Which was scary. It's a love scene. Actually, it's a Oh, no. The while He's teaching me how to kiss. With this. Yeah. Tessie. We can show you. Pay it forward. You know, you you talk about us having such fun on set and like just having this incredible family-like experience, which we do. But that really in my experience always comes from like number one on the call sheet. And I think that that you have been uniquely incredible in how you've been welcoming to everyone. No matter whether they're number two on the call sheet or number like, you know, 202. And it's because of you involving everyone and being so welcoming and being so loving that we have this great vibe on on set. Truly. Does anybody have a tissue? But I mean that that and that's the thing. You just use your shirt actually. You could yeah, there you go. But it can't it comes from So.
