On the Set of "Happy Endings"

About this video
We get to talk to each of the cast members including Elisha Cuthbert, Damon Wayans Jr., Zachary Knighton, and Adam Pally. We were also lucky enough to be there on the day when THE Damon Wayans had a guest appearance. He tells us what it was like raising his son Damon, and gives us some parenting tips, all while wearing quite possibly the softest, most comfortable jumpsuit ever made. Hosted by Tatiana Diana.

Welcome to Young Hollywood.
Hey guys, Tatiana Diana here, crashing the set of ABC's new show Happy Endings.
Today's a very special day.
We've got a legend on set.
Let's go check it out.
Today's a big day for you guys.
Your dad makes a very special appearance on your show.
So, how was it being on set?
Everybody was saying that they were so starstruck and by working with you because they kind of grew up looking at you as an inspiration.
I don't allow myself to be aware of that because I I'd never come out of the house.
I'd stay looking in the mirror in full homie the clown gear.
Do you guys have a lot of fun at home?
You guys are a very funny family.
Yes, we do.
Tons of fun.
I basically raised them as comedians because they weren't good in school because they were clowns.
So I actually made one of them dress up as a clown.
Did your dad make you dress up as a clown?
I know he used to make us when we got bad grades, he would shave our hair off and make us wear suits to school.
Are you serious?
Is this just is this for real?
This is for real.
And my brother would like bring a a change of clothes like in his backpack.
And I'd be like, dude, don't change.
He's going to come.
My dad would show up to the school and make him change back into his suit.
That's parenting.
You know, you got to let them know that you're serious.
I told my son, if you're going to be a clown, you're going to be a well-dressed one.
I'm really okay with that jacket and the sweatpants you're wearing.
I'm I'm loving it on a different level.
This used to be a couch.
Oh, how does that feel up against your skin?
It actually feels good.
Feel it.
like crush.
I'm just loving it.
Who doesn't feel like home?
Are you going to borrow that tonight?
Yeah, I am.
Just to sleep next to it and to whisper to it.
You play Alex in this new show who leaves somebody at the altar.
I know.
I Dave.
I'm sorry.
I can't do this.
I'm calling.
Okay.
How is it working with such a funny cast?
It's pretty wild.
I mean, I, you know, they're so funny and um, so quick and and witty and the energy is definitely high.
That is something that everybody's mentioned that you guys are allowed to do a lot of improv.
How is that for you transitioning into such a comedy role?
It's been good.
I mean, I feel like I'm I'm I'm fitting in pretty well even though I'm more of the the drama girl.
I mean, it was definitely a transition, but I think if you put your mind into that state and you go with the flow of whatever everyone else is doing, it makes for some good good moments.
So we've got Zack Knighton who plays Dave.
You got left at the altar.
Yeah.
Not me, Dave.
You would never get left.
No, never.
Hey guys.
What's up?
Hey, how are you doing, sweetie?
Great.
Really great.
I'm kicking ass.
It starts at this wedding and my character gets left at the altar uh by Alicia's character Alex and you know, it sort of stems from there like who gets to keep the friends, but we really don't stay on that for long.
We actually it's sort of just about these uh these guys and their adventures they get into and they're all a bunch of maniacs in their own way.
So, it's pretty fun to watch.
And today, you guys are actually shooting the episode where Damon Wayne's dad shows up his real dad.
How was it?
Did you get to meet him yet?
You know, when I was a kid, he was like one of my idols.
I mean, I I was the biggest Living Color fan and all of his movies and um uh it's definitely a highlight for me for this for this first season.
Mhm.
We've got Adam Pally who plays Max.
Hello Max.
Hey.
He's telling the story from high school where he picked up that fumble and ran back for a touchdown.
And boom, football.
There it is.
Pay up player.
Your character is quite eccentric.
Would you say you're anything like your character?
Uh yeah, sure.
I would say I'm sort of like my character.
I I I do like a good uh jab at at people sometimes.
So yeah, Max and I have that in common.
And we're both pretty amazing dressers.
Dress pretty great.
You have a pretty cool style, I must say.
I do.
I do.
I describe my style as um homeless or That's like the look right now.
Everybody goes to Fred Segal and spends like a grand on homeless clothes.
Not me, I go underneath the overpass and mug a drifter.
Young Hollywood, thank you for visiting our set of happy endings.
