Hi, this is Frank Grillo for Young Hollywood.

We're on the set of Kingdom today.

So this show, I know you have said it's the best, you know, your favorite role you've ever played.

Was it easier to tap into this or easier to tap into like the frat boy thing?

Um, I don't know, I mean, I think that the thing about the show that that's been so amazing is that the characters are all so complex and their lives are all so intertwined.

Uh, and for Nate specifically, the character that I play, his journey is really really complicated, you know, and, and uh, unlike a movie or an Scream Queens for instance, I'm I'm kinda in and out of that series.

Uh, with this, you know, I've been able to to live it, you know, and and and live it over the course of uh, what's now been, you know, 30 episodes.

So it's it's a lot.

Uh, and um, you can really sort of pour pour your heart into it and and lose yourself in it and become this person.

What's been your favorite thing to shoot on the show?

Is it like the fight scenes?

Is it the more?

Yeah, I love shooting the fun kinda party scenes with with uh, Matt Lauria and and uh, and Nick Jonas.

We have a we have a good time.

So, Nick Jonas apparently once saved Carrie Underwood's life.

What is the most heroic thing you've ever done?

I have not saved a country pop star's life.

Well, I I may have sensationalized it a little bit.

Okay.

But I was sitting in the audience.

They had these huge like blow up balls and they were flying all over the place and one came and was literally about to hit him in the head and I just snatched it out of the air.

Saved her life.

I've saved two people from dying.

Have you really?

I pulled one person out of a burning automobile and I saved another woman from drowning.

Are you really?

I don't think Nick Jonas ever did anything.

He said he pulled somebody out of a car.

Car flipped over.

I was standing about 100 feet away from it.

I ran over and pulled them out.

Wow.

So, it's pretty wild.

Okay, so where are we right now?

We are uh in our imagination.

We are in Venice, California.

That is true.

We are in the glorious North Holly.

North Hollywood.

We're deep in the Valley.

Right off the 170 freeway.

And we've got a tremendous production designer and she's made this back alley look like the the remnants of the the lower income of parts of that.

You know what?

I wouldn't have known that this was a set.

Cuz it really looks like it kinda goes with the vibe.

You do your interview.

But you love her.

I've never actually done an interview ever without her behind me.

Shadow boxing?

Does that kinda count as shadow boxing?

There's just a sense of uh, truth and veracity, authenticity that we have with the sets, with the wardrobe, with the fighters, with the dialogue, um, with the training and um, that immersive sort of culture, I think creates a a more dynamic show.

Oh my God, you scared me.

You like to crash each other's interviews, don't you?

You just scared me.

So, first of all, I wanna know why you've let yourself go to this point.

It's hard, you know.

It's the third set of ten and like after a while, it's just you lose motivation, you're like I can't do it anymore.

Yeah.

I mean, you're super bloated.

Yeah.

So there was a scene that you weren't in, but Tucker was giving a massage.

What is your favorite?

Do you like the relaxing, the Swedish?

Do you like someone to go deep?

I don't I don't like to be challenged by my massage.

Okay.

I'm a huge spa girl.

Like I'm huge, especially in Korean spas.

Like I just did in bath houses.

You want to walk on your back?

Um, yeah, but I'm more into scrubs and things.

But when you get See, I don't wanna do that cuz you have to go naked, don't you have to walk around naked?

Oh my God, all the time.

I love it.

I like active release therapy.

How about that?

I hate massages.

You do?

I love that you just said that.

Since I started this job, I've been pretty regular with like the Thai massage and I found a woman who who makes it very painful and and that's kinda what I'm looking for.

The funny thing about this cage is that people bow before they go in there.

People take a moment to kinda acknowledge, you know, what has come before them and what is going to be coming next.

What's the hardest you've been hit in here?

Like I know you guys do stunts, but I'm sure you've taken a few cracks.

Uh, in the first season I had my my entire uh, forehead eye opened up.

They sutured it with super glue.

And I I know you said this that you can tell by looking at someone if they've been punched before or not.

Have I been punched?

In the face?

Yeah.
