Hey guys, Audrey Clio here for Young Hollywood on the set of mom where the stars are giving me their best parenting advice. Yeah, this is going to be good.

Anna Faris

Thanks for letting me hang out in your kitchen.

Allison Janney

Thanks for coming Young Hollywood. Sorry we didn't bake you a cake or nothing, but

Young Hollywood

Well, where's the why not?

Allison Janney

I don't know how to cook and she's not much better.

Young Hollywood

So you are a regular this season. Jill is going to have a bigger bigger part on the show then?

Jamie Pressley

One of the things that she's finally gotten gotten herself together starting last season. She has to go back and face the old crowd, the old end crowd. Well, the whitey-toity crowd that she always, you know, hung out with before. And so she's got to go back and kind of face her old mistakes. And that's one of the hardest things to do, I think. Yeah. But Bonnie goes along with her. Because she's, you know, a good friend, just got her back and also because she wants a really great gown. Which Jill will pay for no problem.

Young Hollywood

Anna of course is a mom in real life. She's your TV mom.

Guest

She is so kind and loving. She's like she's like a second mother to me. I really I really am so lucky to to be to be her son in this show.

Young Hollywood

But then what about your TV dad?

Guest

He's awesome too. He oh Matt. Oh my God. He is really fun. He's really he's he's a cool dude.

Young Hollywood

And I was talking to your TV son. And in his words, I'm just to paraphrase. He says, You're awesome.

Guest

He's like really really smart. Uh smarter than me. He always knows his lines better than me. Um he's just better than me in and a lot of ways. But that's what you want for your son. You want him to be better than you. A better version of you.

Young Hollywood

And just a quick math quiz because I heard that you were working on your fractions. One half converted to a decimal is

Guest

50. 0. 50

Young Hollywood

Very nice. He's cute and smart.

Guest

Thank you.

Jamie Pressley

So, this is the courtyard of our home outside of our lovely apartment building. 1B. So, here we go. Hi, Jamie. How are you? Good. This is Jamie Pressley, everyone. That is the door to Violet's bedroom. Sometimes furniture is in here. Normally when we shoot this room is a really hard room to shoot in. Because walls tend to block cameras in this room. Making it very difficult to shoot a scene. So, normally we'll rebuild the room on a different area in Yeah, on our soundstage we'll build a separate Violet's room where we'll shoot the scenes where it doesn't have walls. So it's much easier. But this is the bed. I believe yet. Oh, or maybe not. You shouldn't sit on that. Not so much this bed.

Young Hollywood

This is a nice setup by the way.

Jamie Pressley

Yeah, not too bad. Danny, who runs our craft service is pretty amazing. He really spoiled. I mean, look at this. This is messed up. Gourmet cupcakes. This red light means that you shouldn't be going in and out of the room because normally we're filming. Today is a Monday. We shoot on Thursdays and Fridays so I'm pretty sure we're okay. But normally that red light is a signal. No. But we're going to break the rules. Well they're made to be broken. You can chill out here. He's running like the plague. It's okay. A real life mom. That's my mom. We have everyone that works on the show, every cast member, crew member. They're all on this wall. So, if you ever need a name and don't know who it is that just helped you and you want to say thank you. Check the wall. You will always know. No wait, can you hold on? Can I see some ID? because you have to be under the age of 20 to go past this wall. I think I uh Oh wait. I know who you are. This is Sadie Calvano. Star of Mom, the one of the youngest most beautiful stars on the Mom show. I of course am also on Mom but I don't qualify to even be talking on this show. Well to some people that's not true. Because to some people I am considered young. I disagree. Not to you, but um

Young Hollywood

Young at heart.

Jamie Pressley

I love you. I am young at heart Hollywood.

Young Hollywood

You guys don't really shy away from a lot of heavy issues. You have rehab, you have relapse, you have teen pregnancy. Um is there anything that's too dark for this show? Any topic you think that would be too dark?

Allison Janney

I don't think anything stopped them yet. To laugh about addiction and stuff is great because I I've experienced a lot of stuff in my life and these kind of things when you're dealing with such heavy subjects, most people laugh about it because there's not really anything else to do. Because if you don't laugh, you go crazy. So this is like a really cathartic way to deal with it. And I know this show is important for a lot of a lot of people dealing with that stuff because uh it's it's cathartic.

Anna Faris

We're not afraid of any topic and we were like, really we're going to do an an episode about cancer and make it make people laugh and and we managed to to do it. The these uh, you know, writers are they they're able to to to do it and we are able to act it without nobody makes fun of anything and we do it really honestly and and um and with laughter. And I was thinking about how even though we're you know, we're a group of women that is not necessarily in their twenties but we act we act like children. We act. I mean, you've seen the Real Housewives ever. I mean. This is this is not we're like poor Real Housewives. I mean, life is life. It's not always easy. There's a lot of tough stuff. And uh we learn from the tough stuff and we gain strength from it when we do learn from it. And go through it. And I think um a big part of what this show is about is um talking about the crowd you surround yourself with. Um this group of women on and off set. I just mean like in general as far as being able to come to work with this incredible group of women is it's a gift because we've all we come from all walks of life. And to be comforted by other women and supported by other women is an incredible feeling.

Young Hollywood

You know, Sadie was saying how she's actually been been very positively influenced by the two of you and it was the two of you who encouraged her to go and get her education and and go to school. Um so it's kind of like almost like a a motherly exchange of advice. Which is really sweet of her to say.

Anna Faris

Um yeah, I think that we have been um I like to think that we you know, hopefully we're supportive to we like to try to create a really supportive environment for everybody around here. Um and it's been really fun to, you know, over three years to see Sadie, um go from being, you know, a 16 year old to now a you know, total college student and um and she's, you know, so smart and um I'm really proud of her.

Sadie Calvano

She was a big part of her and Alison are a big part of why I decided to go to college right away. Because for them, they both went to school and education is something that is very important to them. And they really stressed that to me. And I'm so thankful that they did because it's really opened my eyes and as an actor and as a human being, I've noticed you get a lot more respect and people take the time to listen to you. When you have something intelligent and ready to say. And so to get to kind of find that voice and to have them help me to figure out what that is and how to use it has been a gift that I don't know I'll ever be able to properly thank them for.

Young Hollywood

I see your mom actually hangs out with you on set. While you're at work. What's the best piece of advice she's ever given you?

Sadie Calvano

Uh really like when you have to when you have to work on something like when I have to get into when I have to get into part into my part. Just really just take a minute, think about it, and gather and gather your thoughts.

Young Hollywood

Catch the show on CBS and remember always listen to your mom.

Sadie Calvano
