Nikki Novak here for Young Hollywood, breaking news. There is alien life amongst us and I've infiltrated their home. We are on the set of ABC's The Neighbors. Get ready for some out of this world interviews.
I am here with Clara Mammot on the set of The Neighbors and with Simon Templeman.
with Tim Joe, one of the stars of The Neighbors.
Max Charles and Isabella Cramp.
with Lenny Benidito, the star of The Neighbor.
this the supreme leader Larry Bird.
Woohoo! Woohoo! Thank you very much. How was that? Wow, what respect.
So you know on the show, you you don't get to play an alien yourself. You're the next next door neighbor. And they have fantastic names. You have I think the best character name of all time.
I I will not argue with that. Thank you.
Reggie Jackson. You are Reggie Jackson.
It makes me giddy to know that I get to play Reggie Jackson as a name. I mean, this is such a role. It is.
Yeah, not only playing a supreme leader but playing um a kind of sports icon in America. Larry Bird.
I know. I'm deeply flattered. They choose they chose, you know, star athletes because they felt they were the best human uh specimens. The finest.
Yeah, so they're going to go for the best.
Some people might think from the size of my biceps that I am uh a superstar baseball player, but I'm actually just playing a teenage alien.
So if I want to name myself Brad Pitt, who would you like to name yourself? Right away you go to him as a fine specimen. I see. Look at my specimen. I see how you how you how you're doing that. So if you could name yourself after a fine physical specimen, an athlete or who who whoever, who would it be?
I would be Katy Perry.
You would? Oh, Katy Perry.
I'm not familiar with too many fine physical specimens. Really?
Well, I think if it was an American sports figure, I think I'd I I I would It would have to be Michael Jordan.
Well, who who who in spirit is a is fine? Kathy Bates. I would want to be Kathy Bates.
Oh, I see what you're saying. like a charming. Um,
Well, they're in a band called Linkin Park, Chester Bennington and um and Mike Shinoda.
I don't know any charming people.
How do you know at your age know Chester Bennington? You know that I interviewed Chester Bennington? You can touch me. You can touch me.
I'd pick myself.
Heidi Klum.
Heidi Klum.
Heidi Klum. Right.
I think so.
You're just amazing. Are you a grown-up in a little person's body?
Um, I'm probably like 36 inside or something.
Are you?
I think she's an amazing actress. She has a powerful uh presence to her. Her acting ability is beyond belief.
I would be Kathy Bates.
I came to LA in the '80s first and so I I caught sort of Lakers Showtime. So Magic Johnson and Larry Bird was very much part of my life. It's when I first I mean I really fell in love with um
ooh that's spooky Zvronian. Wow, as the Zvronian Supreme Leader you can make us disappear and reappear in a different location. We're now on the front lawn.
Yes, as if by magic. How did that happen?
Would you want to live next door to aliens? Do you think it would be fun?
It would take a lot of exp
It would.
And it makes things hard when you go to school, right? And you have to explain why your friends are green. You really don't want to explain it. So you're like, they didn't turn green. They um they just have some kind of sickness.
So I have some random questions for you.
Go ahead.
Okay. In the first episode, you present your new neighbors with some pie. or 20 pies. Right.
Yes.
What is your favorite pie?
Pumpkin pie.
Pumpkin.
Yes. I love pumpkin pie.
Cherry pie.
Cherry pie. That was quick.
It was.
Banana cream pie. You don't have to I don't have to think about that. I actually like pie better than cake.
I like apple pie.
Apple pie.
As you talked about pie, I I went straight to Apple Pan on Pico Boulevard. Do you know that?
talk about It's brilliant. cream. The banana cream pie, right?
Okay. I mean I like cupcakes. I'm not a monster. But I like I like apple pie.
Okay, if you're going to go to Subway, what is what's the sandwich of choice?
You know the sandwich of choice really is to go in the morning and get that egg white.
Oh, the breakfast sandwich.
The flatbread with the egg white. And then veggie patty.
So you're a morning guy.
Mhm. Oh, I'm totally a breakfast guy.
Any favorite sort of alien or sci-fi type type films?
Um, I really enjoyed War of the Worlds because I'm in it.
E. T. I think E. T. is the one that springs to mind.
I like when I like when we get invaded, you know, like Earth's just hanging out, oh my God what's that? Huh? Meteorology? No. Aliens to kill you.
What do you guys think the weirdest thing about the aliens on this show are?
The cheer that they do is pretty weird. And uh in the first episode. It's really funny.
They go we can show you.
Yeah.
Here I come.
Woohoo!
Enough. Do you sort of have a favorite line that you've either said or seen or?
Well, a lot of dick jokes which I like. Um but but a lot of them get cut.
Well, it is ABC. It is. Any in particular that you can recall?
Well, I don't think we could we would I mean I could say it.
We would cut you.
There was one which I liked was I didn't realize when I let go of my dick that it would be quite so hard. Referring of course to my son.
To your son, Dick Butkus.
Because it's, you know, it's it's that it's letting go of one's children which is always as we know a very hard thing.
Do you believe yourself in aliens or life out there?
Didn't they they recently they they found water on Mars, right? There was something going on there. So where there's water, there's usually life. Anything is possible. Right. Believe in your dreams.
I'm not sure. I I I want to I would love I am always scouring the internet. There could be a pretty good chance.
Really?
Yeah.
What would they look like? Would they look like the aliens on the show?
I think so.
It might not be what we think. No, no. Might not be these little green green with their little ray guns and stuff. It just might be like an amoeba. I don't know what?
What was the question?
If space is limitless and endless, then somewhere there must be a parallel universe just like us. So somewhere in another galaxy are having the same question about how hard it is to let go of one's children. Or
Or I think that might get cut.
I'm sure it will.
