Crashing the Set of "Community"

Welcome to Young Hollywood.

Amanda Champagne here at Paramount Studios where we're going to check in with the cast on the set of community.

So what has been the highlight of the season so far?

It's hard to say.

We've gone to so many crazy places this year.

I was just thinking like, okay, we're shooting the finale right now and it's a two-part finale, which is awesome.

I was just talking about like literally our Christmas episode was animated.

We did a claymation episode, uh, which seems to be just so it's so amazing that we've gone to such extreme places this year.

I heard a rumor you never shoot another man.

Whoever started that rumor didn't eat my beans.

What was kind of like your craziest college memory or most memorable experience in college?

Let's see here.

I'm talking in terms of like embarrassing things, you know.

Is that good?

Okay.

One time I got stripped naked uh, outside on a street corner, uh, Marquette, by my friends.

Who has the best improv skills in the cast?

I'm going to say, jeez, it's a three-way tie between Donald Glover, Jim Rash and, uh, Ken Jeong.

I would say it's a toss-up between Ken Jeong and Donald Glover.

Ken, Ken, well Ken has so much experience in in after movies and all this stuff.

It's like he comes from, I mean last season, he would do monologues, 20 minute monologues in a scene where he had four lines.

And we'd all be like, this is hilarious.

But we'd also be like, wow, four hours ago we started shooting this scene and Ken's just still improving this hilarious monologue.

What characteristics do you have to have to be a good comedian?

Are there just a couple that all good good comedians have?

Well, it's best if you, uh, uh, from the waist down.

Keep it from the waist down.

That's a good tip.

Um, and, wait a minute, what did you say?

We're taking, oh.

No.

What did you say?

Comedy.

Sorry, I didn't even say anything.

Oh, what, what's it what's it that to be a comedian?

Yes.

A sense of humor wouldn't wouldn't hurt.

What was the highlight of the season for you this season?

Oh, that's really easy.

The highlight for the season for me was Malcolm Jamal Warner playing my ex-husband Andre.

I'm been a fan of his since Cosby Show.

So for me, um, every day was Christmas when he was on on set.

Was there anything, you know, in college like a college experience that you feel like you missed out on that you look back and like, oh, I wish I would have done this or gone to this game or something like that.

You know, I don't know that I missed it, but I wasn't really a partyer.

I've never been a partyer.

And, um, you know, I have friends that have like these crazy stories of like lost nights out.

And I don't have any stories like that because I was I've been pretty tame my whole life and not that I wish that I was bloho.

But you know, it seemed like, you know, it would be something to have like in the memory bank of remember that time when I was crazy.

So I don't really have those stories.

Ah, where did you go to school and what did you study?

I went to NYU and I studied dramatic writing.

And was there kind of like what was your best college memory or the craziest thing you did while in school even though I know NYU is pretty good.

Pretty.

It's pretty, I wanted to say like scholarly or serious or something.

I don't know.

Pretty.

You're thinking of Harvard.

We once uh as a joke did something called Reading is for Dicks, where we like went around and passed out these pamphlets about like how reading was bad and everybody needed to stop reading and stuff like that.

And we got in a lot of trouble.

I mean, they, I guess comedy mafia now because somebody went in the inside went to jail for me.

Oh, that's amazing.

That's a huge sacrifice.
