Hey guys, I'm Erica Rose for Young Hollywood.
I am here on the set of ABC's new series Twisted, where I'm going to talk to the cast.
But first, I need a milkshake inside of Johnny Cakes.
ready?
Sorry.
I mean, do you want to?
Let's do let's go for it.
And now I'm like I I I'm like this when I'm in scenes too.
I'm I'm not good at this.
Clearly you're not good at that.
Let's just put this aside.
Um are you supposed to blow on it?
Yeah.
No, I don't no.
I can't.
What shape of our noses?
I don't know.
I am here with Avin Jogia, who plays Danny on Twisted.
And your character's very like edgy and mysterious.
You just got out of Juvi for five years.
It is a far cry from your character on Victorious.
So how do you prepare for these serious roles?
For Danny, I just thought I kind of researched Juvies and and kids who've been through like traumas and stuff like that.
But I think what I was trying to concentrate on is trying to play a character who uses charisma as a defense mechanism.
He's charismatic and kind of aloof because he's defending himself against something darker and and kind of like an awful environment.
How do you prepare for like the darker roles and and the darker scenes that you have on on the show?
I guess just thinking about murder in and of itself makes you feel a little dark.
So I am here with Maddie Hasson, who plays Jo on Twisted.
This is like the local hangout, Johnny Cakes.
And you were telling me a little fun fact about it.
Yeah, Johnny Cakes is actually a real restaurant in Nyack, New York, where we shot the pilot.
I love the first episode.
You guys got great ratings.
Congratulations.
Well, thank you very much.
I don't know what the ratings mean.
It means the show's good.
No, no.
Like I mean, like I know, I know what that means.
But like they'll send me a sheet and they'll just have like it's going to have like a bunch of numbers on it.
And I'll just be like, ah,
You're like, tell me how we did.
8. something and it's with this thing and zeroes and lots of numbers.
Good job.
No, I literally I I email them right back and they go, what does it mean?
And they're like, it was good.
I'm like, good.
That's all I want to know.
Who's the funniest?
Who makes you laugh the most?
Sam Robarts is the funniest.
Okay.
He like by like a clear mile.
Ashton makes me laugh the most and he plays Rico.
Sam's really funny though too.
Avin's really funny.
Those too.
So, so all three guys.
Yeah, all all the guys.
Got it.
Oh my gosh.
Yeah.
The girls aren't funny at all.
Sam is actually probably the funniest.
He has like a very old kind of like vaudevillian over the top kind of humor.
So, the cast has informed me that you are the comedian on set.
I have no idea what they're talking about.
So, okay, next to you, who is the funniest on set?
Uh, well, clearly no one.
Um, no.
I I don't know.
I think Gavin's pretty funny actually.
Now, what is a must-have item that you have to have on set, whether it's like food or electronics?
Um, like on in a scene or like you like just
Oh, like on set, in your hands?
I don't know.
I get I get easily distracted, so I kind of like try to go on set without
I'm like I would never notice.
You're like this, like this.
Yeah, I'm like I'm like this, that, that.
Kylie goes mad if there's not red vines on set.
Wait, let me let me show you.
Oh, here we go.
Red vines.
She's all about that candy.
That's my favorite.
So it can't be like the grape kind.
It has to be the red kind.
Yeah, those are my go-tos.
Girl after my own heart.
Food is a must-have item.
I my my electronics don't work on this stage, so I don't really need them.
And I noticed you guys get really terrible reception here.
There's no phone reception down here.
I mean, I try I'm I still try to I'll be down here.
Like my phone's about to die.
You can see that.
I still try to do it.
Nothing.
Just wave it frantically.
Yeah.
And you guys have quite a few veteran actors on set.
Your mom is played by Denise Richards.
Have they given you any advice?
Yeah, especially with all the press stuff and how kind of involved ABC Family shows.
Denise, you know, kind of like is kind of a good shepherd who like really understands this animal beast.
Absolutely.
All right.
Speaking of animals and beasts, let's let's get down to dessert here.
What is with I was an amazing seg I mean, like
That's a great segue.
Because we have like animal beasts sundaes over here.
What what is something you would order?
A pig stew.
Off the dessert menu.
You know, they have a really good Deluxe shake.
I would probably go with anything.
Okay.
Ice cream involved with like lots of whipped cream and then fudge and just this gesture with piling.
We got a double hot fudge brownie sundae.
Uh, old fashioned vanilla soft serve.
Soft serve.
Not my thing.
Get out of here.
I'm going to go with strawberry.
They have a Barks Red like a root beer floats.
I think I'm going to go root beer root beer float.
What would you go with?
I I would go with uh a chocolate milkshake.
Oh, you want that now?
I'm going to go with the with the malt.
Two straws, one malt.
Oh, we're going to share?
All right.
We have a little game.
This is a date.
This is a date.
We're going to do a little game called Twisted Questions about yourself.
Oh, dear.
So, what's the most twisted food you've eaten?
Uh, cinnamon twist.
Okay.
Very literal.
Very literal.
Terrible.
Sugar-covered crickets or something or bugs.
Didn't taste like anything?
It was just really crunchy and sweet.
An egg that I had in Singapore that had been pickled in horse urine.
That's right.
I I I I'm crazy.
I must say you have the most twisted one thus far.
It's what I do.
Alligator?
I've never No, yes, I did eat alligator.
Deep-fried alligator actually.
Does it taste like chicken?
It does.
It does.
Don't eat the skin though.
What's a twisted fear you have?
Uh, like not like going insane.
Losing your mind?
Yeah, because they don't know they're crazy.
And like when you see the guy like like walking down the street, talking to himself and calculating, he's like, I got a plan to get us all to Mars.
And you're like, oh man, like it could totally just happen to me.
I could just wake up and be like that's that's my life now.
I get really afraid of dying or being sick.
So I'll look down at my hand and I'll be like, that's a new vein.
That vein is not supposed to be blue today.
I'm obviously dying.
You're something we like to call a hypochondriac.
Getting murdered.
I don't know.
Twisted fear just a fear.
I don't like spiders.
Of uh never working again.
Okay.
All right, what's a twisted habit you have?
Oh, dear.
Well, it's not really for public consumption.
No.
Um, using dimes and nickels instead of quarters in parking meters.
No, that's not the most twisted habit.
I bite my fingernails really badly.
Look at how bad this is.
Kylie calls my hands gummy hands cuz I have like baby-ish hands and no fingernails.
So she calls them gummy bears or gummies.
I consume a lot of candy.
Uh-huh.
Um, I need to watch out.
I don't know.
That's like a bad habit.
Uh, I drink a lot of tea.
I don't know.
That's the that's the most weak.
That's so weak.
Get out of here with that answer.
You know what I was going to say.
This date this date has just taken a turn for the worse.
I know.
That's what happens.
Probably biting my nails.
Okay.
You and Matt.
Sudoku.
Oh, Matt, and she bite her nails too?
She does.
Said that Kylie calls her gummy bear hands or something.
And I'm sad.
I feel like you.
Yeah, that was the last question.
I missed me, huh?
No, no, that was everything.
Okay.
Cool.
Very good.
Thank you very much.
Thank you.
See you guys.
