Welcome to the Jaccard set tour.
Ah, the happy couple. I feel like a third wheel.
Oh, that's okay.
Oh. Hey, guys, Nikki Novak here for Young Hollywood, where we are on the set of MTV's Awkward. What Collon needed was a subtle hint. Or a strong suggestion. Oh, I'm here with Nikita Lage. Great to see you.
We look like T-squares. This is so exciting. Nikki and Nikki. We could do a show.
I smell a show. So, you're one half of Jacara. And the girl half.
You're the girl half. Yeah, yeah, yeah. In case anyone was confused. In case I'm the female half.
I'm here with Brett Davern. Looking daft. Sorry. You caught me in the middle of why are you always following Jillian around?
My hair. I'm following Jillian around? Did she say that?
Don't tell him I told you, but yeah, he totally does.
No, no, no, no, no. Jillian follows me around.
Oh, she follows you around. Oh, so we have it backward.
Yes, yes.
Do you have any little teasers for the rest of the season for us?
Just so much. There's just so much drama that happens, I can't even.
She knows something.
I know something, but I can't say it.
What was your most awkward teen moment?
Starting when I was 10 years old, I was a child model, and I was shooting with a boy that I had a crush on. At this point, I think I wasn't 10 anymore. I think I was like 14, but I was still modeling size 10 cuz I was so small. But like puberty was starting to happen. So they had to like push down this area.
They had to tape you?
They taped me, and then like wrapped me around in a garbage bag. And I was like, this is so embarrassing. Like as a blossoming 14-year-old.
You want to show it off when you're 14.
Yeah. You got to do the child model pose. It's like the Yeah, like. Or a good one was I had a lot of um, like
So, I have a game for you. Okay, which is more awkward, waving to somebody and realizing they're waving to the person behind you, or making an introduction when you absolutely should know the person's name but you have no clue. Oh.
Ooh. It's totally the introduction, because if you wave to someone and it's just that can be weird, but it's also funny, and then they never see you again. But introducing yourself to someone who you've met like a billion times, There's no recovering.
Go back and forth. I the second one. Because that's more personal.
For me, it would be the waving one.
Okay. The first person that says that today, by the way.
No, here's the thing. I get myself into the other situation all the time, so it's become not awkward for me anymore. And if you are going to be friends with me, like if we are going to hang, then you need to know that I don't know anyone's name.
What's my name? You have no clue.
Yes, I do.
You do?
Sandra.
Fail. Epic fail. We should reenact. This is what goes on in my brain when I meet someone, right? Okay.
Hey, Brett.
Hey, Nikki. She's really pretty. That's all that goes on in my head.
That's a charming way of getting out of that situation. You know what I mean?
All right, you're forgiven for that one. On a first date, not going well, you pull away from the restaurant, you accidentally rear end the person. Or on a first date, not going well, they go in to kiss you, and you have to deflect the kiss.
I've done that before. I need to say it's pretty uncomfortable.
I would just kiss them.
Ooh, blocking the kiss.
Rear end. If I rear end someone, I'd be like, oh my God, and then think of like, cut to all of the, you know, racist Asian women driver jokes. Like, I'm just like
You're just going to kiss them.
Yeah.
Really? You're that you're that nice a guy.
Sure. There was one guy once where he like walked me to my door. And he comes up, I was like, no, no, that's okay, cuz I knew that's where it was going. I was like, you know what? I'm like I gave him a hug in the car, you know, and I'm like going back up. I'm opening the door. And then I was like, okay, well, bye. You know, and like he And he's like he comes closer to me and like I turn my head and he's like the cheek. I would have called him up. I don't want to embarrass him cuz there was a guy watching us. And I go, oh, for the love of and I see him coming at me in slow motion. And he he's like, and I'm like I pat him on the back. I pat him on the back and I go, So this has been great.
Going to hang up on a call with your boss and accidentally saying, bye, love you. Or going to text your boss a happy face and accidentally texting him or her a heart.
See, I already hang up every phone call with I love you. I think the bye, love you is a little bit worse.
Um, I would say, bye, I love you is more awkward because once you hang up the phone, it's dead. There's nothing you can do. And then you have to call back or something. You'd be like, or just wait till the next time you see them and then be like, by the way, I don't love you. I didn't mean to say I love you. And then chances are he forgot about it already. Or they've been thinking about and they're like, I just want to tell you, I love you. I love you too.
I feel like nothing makes you feel embarrassed. I feel like you embrace all awkward situations in life. It's really, yeah, my friends get really embarrassed with me. They don't invite me out anymore to go dance cuz I weave through the crowd and like like walk like a penguin and everyone's trying to be sexy and get down.
How do you walk like a penguin? Like just like just waddle. I just like
But like Welcome to Palos Hills High School. This is a hallway. That we walk down very often. And you do the slow walk. We do the slow walk. Which looks fast on camera, I bet. And our slow walk leads us to We're on the move. Sneak peek inside Valerie's office where the quirky guidance counselor Val gives Jenna all her great advice.
She sure does, Jillian. She sure does.
A couple of interesting things around Val's office. She's very into owls. Owls and cacti and um lollipops that Funny story about these lollipops, they did have something in them, and then they all disintegrated. So if you see these on the show
That's it for the set tour. Thank you for that extensive set tour.
You are so, so welcome.
